Have just come back from the Don Pedro and what a fantastic holiday, we have been on numerous AI holidays but this has got to be the very best for value, entertainment and services. The location was exceptional and doubt we will ever find such lovely scenery again, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a relaxing holiday as it could not be more perfectly placed. look out for the grazing goats in the rocks and make the most of the courtesy bus as it tends to book up very fast. The food was excellent with lots of choice, you were able to serve yourself from the dining room all day to red/white/rose wine/sangria/beer and certain local spirits which to us was a first and there was also fruit available all day too. All in all we couldn`t find a single thing to moan about so we will definately be booking up for next year asap.

Ok but far from perfect!

I stayed at the don Pedro hotel from the 30th Sep to the 7th Oct. What can I say if you get a sea view room then you will never forget the views? I asked for a sea view before leaving and emailed the hotel weeks before they said that this would be ok. Mmmmm first room we got on arrival was a view of satellite dishes then after complaining a room over the other side of the hotel! Third time lucky we got our sea view so keep on at the hotel staff.
This hotels location is on very quiet road and you will only find a handful of shops and bars locally. But don’t let this put you off as there is a local bus stop 200 yards from the hotel with buses taking you to other surrounding towns. The north of the island is recommended there is a free bus that goes to different places with the hotel but you have to book up as soon as you check in as we found out but the local bus is ok and it’s cheap.
Food in the hotel is ok with wide selections so you won’t starve. But there is a lot of fish on the menu.
The staff are really helpful with planning the day’s entertainment and always like getting you involved with the activates.
The entertainment of a night is really good from bingo to live shows.
The rooms in the hotel are very basic we didn’t get much sleep as the walls are very thin you could hear people being sick going a loo and kids shouting and running around so just get drunk before going to sleep otherwise the sounds you hear will drive you mad.
The only good thing about this holiday was I got engaged would I stay at this hotel again NO.

Our first time on all inclusive, how do they do it for the price! Selected the Don Pedro by price and reports like this one (disregarding the worst as they tend to be by some-one who has had a specific problem which has been blown out of all proportion, and not normally attributable to the hotel itself.) First time in Majorca and looking for a quieter resort, Cala san Vicente fitted the bill and the Don Pedro had a lot of good reports.

Food; very good quality, choice and quickly replenished never a meal where there was nothing that appealed to us.

Rooms; Our room was very spacious (in the annex building) larger than those in the main buiding I believe, always kept clean by the hard working housemaids.

Entertainment; all praise to the animacion team( Sam, Mariano(no-no-no-no-no-no!), Mar, and Abi). These are the guys who really made our holiday, thank you folks. Professional entertainment on several nights of a good quality ( the jury is still out on"Elvis" tribute-but that is down to personal taste). All in all a very enjoyable holiday in relaxed surroundings in a lovely resort.

Hotel staff; Very polite and very attentive thank you fro a pleasant stay.

Would we go back; Next time we plan Majorca the Don Pedro will be top of the list.

what a brilliant hotel. holiday started poorly with the collapse of futura which meant flights were at night but the hotel and the rep adam more than made up for it. as we arrived late we were in a side room but got this changed with no problem after only 1 night. food was plentiful with plenty of fish dishes (my favourite food) the only side effects being the addition of half a stone at the end of the fortnight. we took advantage of the free bus trips offered by the hotel which were great. even when the wheather turned nasty with a couple of days rain we managed to keep ourselves amused. all the staff were very friendly and always willing to help. we will definitely return with our families and grandchildren in the future. the entertainment shows from outside were excellent and we especially enjoiyed the elvis impersonator, didn't last long enough. all in all a great fortnight.

We have just returned from a fantastic 11 days at Don Pedro Hotel Majorca. My group consisted of 4 adults and two children 12 and 15 years. The Hotel was absoloutely spotless, the staff were so freindly and the Food was to die for. We had clean towels everyday and anything else you wanted, just ask, the rooms are basic but then you only sleep in them. The restaurant was very clean tidy and service was brill. The food was very good, with a lot of selection and the snacks were well provided, from burgers and chips to cake and cold meat and cheeses. The Bar staff did a good job as they were always busy. The entertainment programme was very varied and suitable for all ages. There were adult and child activities during the day and you were not pressured to take part, these varied from Archery, rifle shooting to connect four and killer pool. The childrens were the same, but on a child basis for example archery was a childs crossbow using sucction darts. The evening entertainment was very enjoyable and funny, ranging from Robbie williams lookalike, Elvis and the teddy bears to comedy and flamenco dancers. The team also did there own stints and these were thoroughly enjoyable too. This holiday would not be suitable for people with walkng difficulties as there are a lot of steps. WE WILL BE RETURNING NEXT YEAR. This hotel also has a free bus service to Pollensa daily which we did not use as we were happy to just stay, relax, swim in the (mill pond) mediterranean sea or take part in the activities. WELL DONE DON PEDRO!!!!!!!!!

Brilliant holiday, beautiful location, hotel well kept, clean towels daily, comfortable beds, good choice of food at all meals and entertainment spot on. Staff and animation team were friendly and did an excellent job with the children in particular.

Only complaints: that there was no hairdryer or beach towel, despite being all inclusive and with the cut in luggage from 20kgs to 15kgs the hotel should consider supplying these in the future. Often insuffient sunbeds due to holiday makers reserving beds with their towels both on the terrace and by the pool at the same time. Hotel needs to address this situation and police their rule that sunbeds cannot be reserved, by taking the towels away, particularly at 6-8am.

Just got back from 10 days at Don Pedro. This is one of the best holidays we have been on. only myself and my son (11). We go AI on many holidays but this was an exception. Overall - a very clean tidy hotel and areas around, pool always clean, Life Guard by the pool (which was a definite bonus, very helpful) and staff with very good english (apart from the cleaners of course). Rooms cleaned every day, fresh towels, made beds, etc. A real bonus was air conditioning in the room, remote control for your own setting, so when you come in after weather of 28 you need the air con on.! The food was excellent, something for everyone, although be carefully you don't eat too much, it is very tempting. Drinks are usual for AI guests, the usual locally produced beers etc. Great for kids who can help themselves to drinks (kids to try the San Fransisco cocktail).

The hotel is set on a hill, so there are quite a few steps but not many. The views are fantastic, with its two small bays below. The sea is so clear you can see your feet as you are swimming. The local shops (only 3) sell small fold up fishing rods for about 8 euros and the kids loved fishing with bits of ham and bread for the fish, schools of fish everywhere. There are even some steps from the front of the hotel that takes you straight into the sea so you don't have to wade through the small rock pools.

Anyway - what more can I say only that this is a definite must for all ages. You never know might see you there next year. XX

Just back from one of the best family holidays we've ever had. We are Scottish, tight and hard to impress, however this holiday was brilliant. The cost of the holiday provided outstanding value for money with as much excellent food and drink as you could have, you have to use restraint or you will come back the size of an elephant and still be drunk for a week. The hotel is impeccably clean, it used to be a 4 star hotel and is now a very good 3 star, due to the age of the building. The setting is gorgeous, shoehorned into the side of a hill with two small beaches either side and a larger beach an 8 minute walk away. You can step directly into the sea from the lower deck of the hotel, but please take beach shoes due to sea urchins which sting. The staff of a contracted in company "Automacion" provide entertainment during the day and evenings, Mariano is a very funny entertaining man and the girls who run the kids club are "lovely individuals" very warm and genuinely caring towards the kids. A great plus is they don't play music outside, which adds to the relaxation factor. Shows at night were usually touring acts, the Elvis impersonator with the "Teddy Bears" was fantastic and I don't like Elvis.

If you wish to relax, take in the sun, be entertained, eat at your leisure and drink and be merry, you would be hard pushed to find a better location.

Myself and my Fiance stayed at Don Pedro for 4 nights from 4th - 8th July 2008 and loved every minute. The food was excellent. Plenty of choice both of local dishes like paella (which I like to try) and also of things like chips, burgers and nugetts for the less adventurous. The breakfast in the morning was fab with brilliant fried eggs (I am fussy about my eggs). You even get the chef carving a huge joint of meat in the evening and I must say it is the best meat I have ever tasted! They serve snacks between meal times which I thought was brilliant.

The view is to die for and there is nothing better than sitting out looking at the beautiful blue see with a cocktail in your hand :-) All inclusive drinks were good although you have to pay a suppliment for brands like smirnoff and bacardi but to be honest I had all local produced drinks and you can't tell the difference.

Evening entertainment was a little on the cheesy side but extreamly fun for both kids and adults but when you have a view like you do at Don Pedro tere is no need for entertainment in my eyes.

The staff were brilliant and very friendly nothing was too much trouble.

the only thing that was not fab about the hotel was the room. It was very basic but to be honest, as i have said before, when you are staying at a resort like cala san vincente where the sea is beautiful, snorkelling is great and food and drink plentiful you will only be using your room for sleeping and showering. They were clean and comfortable and thats all you need.

We loved it so much we have booked to go back in August, this year!!

Just got back from a lovely holiday at the Hotel Don Pedro in Cala San Vicente. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is really beautiful - stunning even - the hotel right on the seafront with beaches and rocky outcrops on either side - FAB!!

We have two young children (3 + 4) and it was our first holiday aboard with them. They loved the beach and the pool area and always found something to eat at the buffet.

We found the food very good - always fresh and plenty of choice.

The staff are really friendly and always seem to be clearing up (very over-zealously!!! - once we went to get toast and came back and our juice had been cleared away!!!).

Front desk is very helpful and there are free bus trips to different places every day. We enjoyed the Wed. market trip to Sinea; and the trip to Porto de Pollenca. If you request it the day before you can get a pack-lunch. Also if you ask, you can eat at the sister hotel Simar - which i would recommend as we found it very nice.

My only criticism would be lack of storage space in the rooms - but the rooms are very well cleaned (daily) and the beds are comfy.

We would certainly recommend this place to anyone and would definately consider returning in the future. Feel really refreshed and lucky to have had such a wonderful holiday.

i am writing to let all you others know... my holiday here was a complete disaster... and never go to this hotel again i am outraged and disgraced. as i walked in i had very high hopes about the holiday, checking in was fine as i got in to my room a rat ran over my feet.. i screamed and charged downstairs to the reception desk and explained what happend she laughed in my face and pulled cheese from behind the desk as i quote " you will get used to it here there very pleasant rats don't hesitate to feed them" i was astonished. and went back to my room. then i realized the toilet was blocked with human body waste i felt sick to my stomach. as i turned around to gasp for air there were cockroaches in the sink. i stormed back downstairs and complained to the staff and they just sent me away repeating enjoy your holiday ..... DON'T EVER GO THERE!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I have been going to this hotel since I was 14 years old and am now coming up to 51! I last went there 2 years ago and have just booked to go again in October. There are waiters in the hotel and in it's sister hotel The Simar that were there in 1971! It's obvious that I cannot fault this hotel - it's got better over the years and even though the weather can be up and down - even in the summer - a fantastic time is had by all. I guess the only down side is the jelly fish that are abundant in the summer - and my son found that out to his cost and still bares the scar - so be warned!!! If you go in the sea I would wear jelly shoes - it might save you a lot of pain!
