We loved this hotel and its location. Excellent choice of food and drink with something different on offer every day. Nice clean rooms with spacious bathrooms and balconies. We had a sea view which was spectacular.
We were there mid May which was fairly quiet and there were only a few children about which suited us as we didn't have children with us. Although the resort is small and has only limited shops, restaurants and bars, we found it was enough.
We wouldn't have wanted to be in a large, busy resort. There were a few good walks too but we could have done with trainers or boots for these, not flip flops!!
My partner was particularly happy as he could fish all day off the hotel terrace - he's not the sunbathing type! This meant that he didn't have to go far away from the rest of us to pursue his hobby.
We arrived at 1am and didn't realise that the hotel entrance was on floor 4 and then all other floors were beneath this. This was a little confusing and it might be useful for the rep or reception staff to explain this on arrival.
Anyway, we had no complaints about anything and booked again for next year within a week of getting back home!

I just can t fault this holiday one bit, location was breathtaking everywhere you looked it was wow. Think I’ve put on a stone food was lovely and varied.
Can’t wait to go back next year to see the lovely people we met again. Entertainment team work really hard and its well worth joining in with the activities.
Perhaps the only little gripe I have is that our son is 12 and the children’s activities were a little babyish for him but he did make a friend and had a great time.
There is a free bus into Alcudia every day if you want to go somewhere livelier. We went on the hidden treasures trip which was lovely but don’t go on it if your not very good with heights as you go very high up a mountain and I couldn’t t look out of the window but my son loved it, one of the hidden treasures was Cala San Vicente and I can see why.

What can I say, fantastic.
The Don Pedro is set in the cliff side in between two "mountain" ranges and the views are absolutely stunning, our room looked out onto the mountains as most rooms seem to.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and even though the staff mainly speak fluent English they appreciate the odd greeting in Spanish.
The rooms are quite big, especially if you’re in the new annex, as we were. There are the usual facilities inc safe deposit box and TV, CNN news was the only English speaking channel. One small gripe, we could have done with a little more cupboard/drawer space and a few more hangers, so take your own hangers.
The food at the Hotel is of a high standard with a good choice of Spanish and English food, breakfast consists of English sausage, bacon, eggs and the usual "full English" fare however, for those who prefer a continental breakfast there is a good selection of cold meats, fruit etc.
For lunch and dinner there is usually a choice of 4 different meat and/or fish dishes daily, with a good choice of snacks available throughout the day. The drinks are good quality, the beer is San Miguel and not watered down, the spirits are very good local brands and the measures are very generous.
The ice for the drinks is delivered in large bags and are clearly marked (albeit in Spanish) "Made from natural mineral water". There is a choice of Red, White, Rose and Sangria wine on tap during meal times, all of a good quality and the Red isn't chilled.
For those who don't want to stay in the Hotel all the time for meals you can take advantage of the facilities at the Don Pedro's sister Hotel, the Simar, which is next door, this Hotel offers pretty much the same selection but in a quiet and intimate setting.
You can also use the Simar bar facilities, 2mins walk, and can be found by turning left out of the Don Pedro and right at the T-junction, the bar is unmistakable as it has a number of white tables and chairs outside the bar, on the road.
On entering the Don Pedro bar you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a bar at a top English hotel, as against a Spanish All Inclusive hotel bar, the waiters and bar staff were impeccably dressed and actually looked like bar staff, they were knowledgeable on their drinks and could prepare without problems a range of drinks and cocktails.
The daytime entertainment is quite good and discreet, the entertainers put a lot of effort into their work, and there are activities for children and adults alike, however, if you don't want to take part you’re not pressed into it.
There are two beaches within the complex, both are quite stony to walk into the sea, it is advisable to take/buy scuba shoes. Sadly during our stay there the sea was rough and brought in a large group of jellyfish so we only got into the sea a couple of times, worth the wait though.
There is a third beach about 5mins walk away (left outside the hotel and down about 50 steps) it is beautiful with equally stunning scenery and no stones on the beach, just pure clean sand.
Outside of the complex facilities, in Cala St Vincente "town" there are a small range of restaurants and beach cafe's, I would recommend the Pizzeria 100yds on the right past the Simar bar and restaurant.
I can also recommend the restaurant who's name escapes me (a lovely sounding French name) which is accessed via the 50 steps (as for the third beach, described above) and turning right at the bottom, and is situated at the far side of the big car park opposite the "Bistro Balaixa", here they specialise in BBQ food which is cooked on the indoor BBQ while you watch, it’s a little expensive but the quality of the food and service is first class, well worth it for the experience.
Our Hotel rep was quite new and clearly was learning her new role but she gave 100% and if she didn't have an answer she would quickly find out.
Cala St Vincente is a very quite area but is on a bus route from which you can access Porto Pollensa, from here you can access all areas of the island. There are a number of quality car hire places in Porto Pollensa, we used "Hiper" opposite the Chemist, cheap and no hidden nasties and they will even arrange collection from your hotel at the end of the hire period, a taxi into Porto Pollensa cost 11euros (as of May 07) one way.
All in all we had a lovely time at the Don Pedro and will definitely go again.
Good luck and enjoy.

I love this hotel. It’s a great place for a relaxing holiday. I have been coming to this hotel for 4 years and we have booked for 2007 along with 19 of our friends some of which we meet their every year.
The kids love it and it has always felt a very safe place for them. It’s a great place for families but I think people who need lots of hustle and bustle would find it too quiet. Can’t wait to get there. See you all soon. Luv Sara.x

Excellent location/hotel for a quiet and relaxing break. Sea/snorkelling superb.
Beaches small but good. Hotel staff very attentive and helpful - broken air con fixed within 1 hr of being reported.
Food of a high standard, good mix of Spanish and Brit fare. Entertainment adequate and varied. Entertainment staff, games etc during the day, very good indeed - encouraged participation but not too pushy.
Overall it does what it says on the tin - All Incl, fairly cheap, very quiet. Not too many Brit football shirts/sombreros/toy donkeys etc.
Not sure how busy it will be in high season, suspect it gets a lot noisier. But for an early/late break - Very good value for money indeed.

My family and I spent a week in Cala San vincente at The Don Pedro Hotel. We’ve stayed at various places in Mallorca over the last few years but this was the first time that we opted for all inclusive.
We arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning after what seemed like an eternity of a transfer from Palma airport. It took an hour and twenty minutes. We booked in and made our way to our rooms to find them without electricity. The receptionist failed to tell us that you had to put the key fob into a slot on the wall to turn the power on.
The hotel was very clean and the staff very pleasant and polite. The rooms we had were very nice and clean. This is the first time I’ve been on holiday and slept in a quality comfortable bed. The hotel is built between two mountains and the views are spectacular. There are two small beaches either side. If you want to lie in the sun all day, eat and drink then this is the place for you. I thought the food was very good but some people complained about the variety. (You cant please everyone).
There was entertainment every day (archery competitions, darts, pool etc) plus bingo and disco in the evening. There were a few things about this place that didn't appeal to me.
The location is quite remote with only a handful of shops, a few restaurants and bars, which were deserted in the evening. There was no bus service so if like us you want to go out and about during the day you had to take a taxi. There are a couple of car hire places but we were a party of seven and seven seaters were very expensive. You could hire two small saloons for less but there was only me that had a driving licence. Mosquitos were in their thousands which the locals said was unusual for that time of year.
Overall we had a pleasant holiday but I don’t think I would go back again.

Excellent holiday. Hotel was perfect with as much food and drink as you could eat. Would love to go back to such a beautiful place. Would recommend this holiday for families and couples.
There was limited entertainment on offer so not perhaps the best place to go for people wanting to party. There were beautiful walks in the area and you could walk to Puerto Pollensa, about 3 miles away.

Beautiful location beside 2 small clean beaches, the hotel reception is bright and airy the staff very welcoming, We had 2 adults & 2 children in same room which was very cramped, I complained to the staff and within 1 day we were offered a large room in the annex which was wonderful.
The cleaners did a brilliant job the whole place was spotless. the food was very varied with lots of choice for even fussy eaters.
Only complaint was there was not much for teenagers to do, The resort was small and quiet very peaceful, Not for those wanting a lively holiday.

Excellent holiday, beautiful location, Don Pedro is set in a cove, beautiful mountains all around, as previously stated a very quiet resort but ideal for families and children.
Hotel was clean and well managed, staff worked very hard.
We had the annexe part of the hotel, if you book try asking for these rooms, they are huge, we had three single beds in ours and still could have fitted another single, cupboard space yet again a bit limited, could have done with a few shelves but take extra hangers.
Would love to go back and we’re constantly scanning brochures for prices, only drawback is the entertainment ends at 11.30pm but yet again ideal for people with young children, you can always get a bus into Puerto Pollensa in the evenings if you want a bit more life, taxi back is about 10 euros so it won’t break the bank!

Good: nice clean hotel, two beaches attached to hotel, good food - well run restaurant. Free TV in room with an English news channel, pool never busy, separate children’s pool which children could climb in/out without constant help from adults, stunning views over sea/bay and beaches. Very much a family holiday hotel - lots of children. No flies, wasps or other bugs anywhere in the hotel, not even flies in the dining room.
not so good: resort area extremely quiet, food in restaurant repetitive at times, rooms were a bit of a squash for 4 of us, lack of cupboard/drawer storage space for clothes for 4 of us, 70 sunloungers around pool were always reserved (despite pool being nearly empty). Nightly entertainment - professional shows 3 times a week and was okay on some evenings.
overall: we booked this hotel only a week before the holiday. There were four of us, two adults and two children (aged 2.5 years and 5 years). We couldn’t find any poor reviews except one chap who had gone expecting a youngster’s lively holiday and found it occupied by mainly families. It's definitely a holiday for families. Overall, a good holiday right on the beach with good food, good views and plenty of children for ours to play with at the mini disco.
A little more detail:
Resort - The resort is about an hour away from the airport. We had a direct transfer, so longer if you have a coach dropping off at other hotels first. There were about 6 shops, selling mainly beach supplies (buckets, spades, inflatable, beach shoes etc) and food/drinks. A quite large Spar shop was almost opposite the hotel. There were a few restaurants too next to and opposite the hotel. There were a few more shops a five-minute walk away by a third beach, but again selling mainly beach supplies/holiday mementoes. All the shops except the Spar were shut in the evening.
Hotel - From the outside the hotel looks tiny as it is built into a cliff face and you can only see part of it from the front. On first impression, the reception area looks quite posh with marble floors, and plenty of relaxing armchairs. Because of it's cliff top position, you enter reception at street level but you are on the 4th floor. All rooms are on floors 3,2 and 1 and the dining room, the lounge and access outside to entertainment area, pools and beach are on the ground floor. Because of this the reception area never seemed to have any guests in it and reception was never busy. The reception staff were friendly and spoke good English.
Room- our room was modern, clean and bright. Pale yellow walls with a pale wood wardrobe, dressing table, behead and bedside tables. The room had 3 single beds in it, and because we were a party of 4, the hotel had added a smaller fold-up bed and moved one bedside table to next to the TV. This made the room quite cramp, just a long line of beds all lined up next to each other! The beds were comfortable however having 4 of us so close together meant some wakeful nights having heard the kids fidgeting or talking in their sleep. The wardrobe had a long hanging rail with some hotel hangers provided, and 4 very shallow draws. These weren’t sufficient to take the t-shirts, shorts, swimwear, towels and other items you don’t normally hang up. My advice would be to take lots of additional hangers and hang up as much as you can. The dressing table had a good sized drawer and mirror and the electric plug socket was actually next to the dressing table which made hair drying much easier.
The balcony was a fair size with a table and 3 chairs and luckily overlooked the fantastic sea view. The design of the hotel means that balconies are quite overlooked by your neighbours, however, we got chatting to our neighbour and he gave us lots of useful information on our first day.
Food/Restaurant - The hotel restaurant was very well run. We never had to queue for anything and all food was hot and tasty. All food was replenished as it ran out. It's all buffet style and drinks in the restaurant are all self-service. Alcohol (beer, sangria, white, rose and red wine are all on tap) is available at lunch and dinner if you are all-inclusive. When the restaurant is closed for dining, there are snacks (chips, hamburgers, hot dogs and pasta usually) plus rolls, cheese, cold meat and cakes and ice cream. You will definitely not go hungry.
I'm vegetarian and there was a vegetarian option every night (typically either spring rolls, spinach pasties, bean stew, or mushroom pancakes plus lots of salad, potatoes, and bread). Our only complaint about the food was that it was a little repetitive. We were only there for a week but saw he same things again and again, however, there are at least four meat/fish options at every meal, so it is possible to vary your diet. Typical puddings of little cakes, fruit, tapioca pudding, and the angel delight type pudding in a variety of flavours. Yoghurt pots were available sometimes but there were only very low quantities. The restaurant staff were lovely, always making an effort to talk to our children and asking how their holiday was. They seemed to want to practice their English, which was actually very fluent.
Hotel guests - the guests appeared to be 49 percent Spanish guests and 49 percent English with a smattering of French speaking guests. We didn’t encounter any German speaking guests. Guests all seemed well behaved with no offensive or outrageous behaviour.
Entertainment - We didn’t partake in any daytime entertainment laid on by the hotel, although there was some as certificates were given out each evening. The evening entertainment was a bit 'hit and miss' with only 3 of the 7 evenings having a professional show. The other evenings did have entertainment but it was guest-involved or run by the entertainment team (Mr Election, Grease put on by the guests and entertainment team or Sangria Night). Typically, Mini Disco was at 8.30-9.00pm, 9.00-9.30pm just music, 9.30-10.00pm bingo, 10.00-10.30 music again, 10.30-11.30 the evening show.11.30-1200 music again. All entertainment ceased at 12 midnight.
Hotel Staff - all friendly, polite and spoke English.
Pools - one adult and one child pool. Never busy. Children’s pool tended to be cold in the mornings but it was separate and shallow enough for both our children to get in and out on their own. The only gripe is that we are not the types to go and reserve a sunloungers and even by 10am they were all reserved. Very annoying considering there were 70 and often only 10 people using the pool area at the time.
Hotel Safe - ours allowed us to put all our belongings in it and then wouldn’t open again. Pedro from the hotel maintenance came and sorted it, but it got stuck again and a man from Palma had to come and sort it. It worked all week until the last day when the same happened. We were panicking slightly as we were going home that day and our passports, money and tickets were all in the safe and there was no time for a man from Palma to come and sort it. Pedro got it open eventually just in time! No-one else we spoke to seemed to have trouble with theirs, so I think ours was just playing up.
Beaches - lovely but small. You walk down a few steps and you are on the beach. There is one beach each side of the hotel. However whilst the beaches are sandy, there are huge pebbles laying around and in the water there are so many you really need to wear beach shoes in the water for it to be comfortable to walk over them. We bought some beach shoes from the Spar shop (10 euros for an adult pair) which did the trick.
The larger of the two small beaches has a lifeguard on patrol and both beaches display a flag to indicate water safety. Unfortunately we had a red flag for some of our holiday as the sea was rough. Ropes were put up to prevent anyone swimming out too far and lifeguards enforced the rule, but paddling and near swimming was still allowed.
There is another sandy beach a 5 minute walk away, which has no large pebbles. You go past the spar and other shops, turn left, cross the road and walk down about 50 steps and it's practically opposite. This is also where the other shops are. Nice beach with a beach bar and a big posh hotel if you need the loo.
Overall: a good holiday, nice hotel but the resort was too quiet for us.
