Marbella Inn Aparthotel Reviews

Jun 2004, Mrs Josie Campbell-Mahony

We had a studio apartment at this hotel, which was right in the middle of Marbella. It is at it says, 3 *** which was very adequate. The room was cleaned every day with clean towels etc. The swimming pool was great - at the top of the hotel. The staff were very kind and... more

great value and great location. shame about the noise
my boyfriend and i stayed at the marbella inn centre for 1 week in july this year and found the hotel to be as described in the photos and descriptions. i really couldnt fault the room. it was big with a bath and shower, living room area and kitchenette all in working order and the beds were comfortable. the staff were very friendly and all could speak very good english. the location is so ideal as you have the beach which is about a ten minute walk from the hotel (be careful where you paddle as the black grit can stick in your feet) and you have shops (cartier, zara, mango) right on your doorstep. there is only one small problem. if you are reading this the first problem we have may not relate to you but we did have noisy neighbours and every 4am without fail we would hear them come in and make a huge racket. the air conditioning in the room is lovely but loud so you cannot have it on all night unless you are a very heavy sleeper and can sleep through anything. also you are by a mainroad and it is busy all the time so if you have the patio doors open you will hear everything! this is really all i can fault which really is not much. a very enjoyable stay and very satisfied customers.
Great Value
Stayed there early June after visiting a couple of other cities in Spain. Enjoyed a really large (and clean) room... bigger than expected, with a mini livingroom area, as well as a kitchen. A good 5 - 10 min walk from the beach, but you pass all the shops on the way down, so it doesn't feel like a long walk. Pool on the roof had a great view and plenty of lounge chairs to lay on - if you didnt feel like going to the beach. Staff was great... no complaints!
Nice but dim
All in all, The Marbella Inn hotel provided a very good base as an apartment or hotel in Puerto Banus would have cost double the price. However, did not live up to pictures on internet - much smaller, especially pool area and reception. Room was huge though, 3 single beds, lounge area, dining area as well as a seperate kitchen and bathroom. Fairly clean however, no locks on the balcony door which I found quite disturbing. I actually spoke to reception about this and was told there was nothing they could do as none of the rooms had locks on their balcony doors!!!!!! Their explanation was that no one could possibly climb up the outside!! Very disappointed with the cafe/bar. Only serves a continental buffet breakfast in the morning and shuts at 3pm so you can't get any drinks or food after this time unless you venture out. Location was good with only 5 min walk to the beach, however, surrounding area very quiet, mainly locals, families or retired ex-pats so no real nightlife - not good when you're on a hen weekend! Restaurants ok but nothing special - the real fun is in Pueto banus where the restaurants are fabulous and you get to mix with the rich and famous in a lively buzzing resort! Taxi to Puerto Banus from the hotel is reasonable at 10 euros for one way. Would definitely stay in this location again (as the beach is great and place is lovely for relaxing/chilling during day) and head to Puerto Banus in the evenings.
Nice budget place
I stayed here for 3 nights in April and had a nice stay. The room was very big and so was the bathroom. The furnishings were very basic and looked worn, kind of motel like, but it was clean. There was also a balcony. The walls were a bit thin, but nothing to disturb my sleep. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach, but I spent most of my time relaxing at the lovely 2 level rooftop pool. The pool is not huge, but it offered great views and was clean with plenty of beach chairs. Hanging out here was the highlight of my trip. The staff was also very nice and helpful. The breakfast was basic, but plentiful. There are shops nearby and the grocery market across the street. If you are looking for nice budget, no frills lodging, then this place is it.
adequate for the price.
having discovered the previous review the night before we left on our little getaway it was with some trepidation that i entered the marbella inn center alas my fears were abated as my wife and i settled down to an adequate, clean room in an adequate clean hotel which merely needed a lick of paint here and there. i managed to grab a parking space directly outside and was never bothered by traffic wardens etc in the 3 days that we were there.the half size cool pool on the roof was fantastic given the lovely weather we had .the buffet breakfasts were disappointing as there was very little choice but,for the price we paid then what should we expect?. it was a lovely break in a pleasing area;shops, beach, promenade etc. in retrospect it would have been clever to have paid that little bit more to stay in a more classier hotel but,you can say that everytime you go away can't you?
Hotel not as described
This Hotel is verry shabby it does not look as described in there literature. The pool on the roof is dirty and the hand rails are all loose. There are no means to get any food or drink from the hotel. The rooms all smelt mouldy and the bed linnen was stained and had holes in it. Service was very poor and the "two minute walk to the beach" will take you ten.
So-so
Stayed here during early August. It was the best price available during this high season. The best things going for it-- very close to the beach- just a short walk, very close to the main shopping street, and it had a lovely view of the mountains from the swimming pool. However, rooms were basic, but at least clean. The front staff- especially the woman- were helpful. If you can afford better, though, check out nicer hotels that line the beach. Next time I will try Marbella Club Hotel or maybe even Puerto Banus area (if I can afford it then).
Great place to stay!
Loved Marbella Inn. We travelled in a few Andalusian cities, and this hotel was probably the beat deal. The room was huge with a balcony and the pool on the roof had a beautiful view of the mountains and the beach. The room wasnt more than $100 a night. It was about a 5 min walk from the beach and close to an internet cafe and one of the main shopping streets. Highly reccommended!
Grim
Booked a 4 night stay in May 2004. Arrived at 7pm. Made our way to the underground car park but it was full and I had to back the car out up a narrow ramp. We were told by hotel staff that there was another car park down the road. This ended up costing 17 euro for overnight parking. We then checked into our room which was to say the least basic. It appeared to be clean but there was quite an overwhealming smell. The room was about the standard of an English holiday camp. Also, it overlooked a block of shabby residential flats. We left the next morning! Not good.
Loved the Marbella Inn
Stayed at the Marbella Inn for one week in October of 2003. It was the off tourist season. The rooms are immaculate with beautiful marble floors, private balcony, tv, phone, a pool on the roof, wake up service and very close to the medeterranian sea. The staff is courteous and very helpful. It was raining for most of the time that we were in Marbella and the staff furnished us with umbrellas :-) 1 important note, if you have asthma, the cleaning solutions they use in the rooms and throughout are quite strong but if you inform the staff of your condition they are more than willing to accomodate. A 3 star hotel, the Marbella Inn was a fantastic place to stay while in Marbella. Nothing but an excellent experience the whole time i was there and would recommend it to everyone! Will be going there again myself in the near future!
