DO NOT GO ANYWHERE with timeshare sales people!!
Positives - Relatively high quality appartments and pool area - 2 good restaurants close by - well stocked supermarket close by Negatives - Awful customer service. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left staff were very unhelpful. - Air con didn't work properly nor did the TV. Neither were fixed when we asked - The "welcome pack" with tea, coffee, sugar had a tiny sign next to it (which we didn't spot until after we'd started using it) saying it cost 6 euros and you had to ring reception to ask them to take it away if you didn't want to pay - Someone will call you towards the end of you say asking for 'feedback.' Do not speak to them! If they turn up at the appartment get rid of them as quickly as possibe - they are timeshare sales people. Do not go to their office - you will be there for hours!!!
NO GOLD CROWN
We booked our week hear with rci and was informed this place was gold crown... not anymore very poor standards built 1987 the chip are well showing .. also this hotel has no resturant only a small patio bar serving pub grub until 4pm no evening bar everything closes after 6pm, situated on hartatack hill.. The staff hear were freindly and helpfull to a extent ..would never stay hear again, LOOKS OK PHOTOGRAPHED FROM A DISTANCE, I am a very well travelled person and i would complement The Beverley Hills Hights a 3 star or Bronze / Silver Crown,
Beverly Hills Heights - great
Didn't expect anything too fancy going by the other timeshare resorts we have stayed at, so on arrival we were surprised to have such high quality accommodation. We were staying in a 2 bedroom apartment which is on 2 levels with 3 bathrooms in total, it was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. It is located beside its sister resorts Hollywood Mirage and Beverly Hills Club at the top of a HUGE hill so taxis and buses (which are free from the resort) are a must. The pool area was nice and clean and we didn't have much trouble getting a lounger though a expect this could be a problem in high season. Ate at Bella Roma (directly across from the apartments) for 3 nights out of the 7 we were there, the food and service was exceptional. However I advise you to go before 7pm or after 8.45pm or you will have a long wait for a table due to its popularity. Also recommended is Rosies Mexican just 5 minutes down the hill. All in all had a great time in The Heights and would definately stay here again if returning to Tenerife.
A pleasant surprise
What a relief! Having read some of the reviews on the hotel, we were quite worried about our holiday. We chose Tenerife in order to combine good diving with some quality chilling time. This holiday was booked using points with RCI and we received a fabulous two-storey apartment with a lounge/diner/kitchen, balcony, two bedrooms and three bathrooms. Many plus points: far enough away from the worst of Brits overseas on the sea front (Nescafe, PG Tips, Boddingtons - Wot no Watneys Red Barrel?), but close enough to good restaurants, beautiful scenery and a decent road system. The courtesy buses and taxis are extremely convenient. We couldn't fault the room, reception or the maid. The pool bar closes at six, so this hotel is quieter than its sister hotels. The house lager is good. If you want all-night entertainment, it is only a short walk away. There are three or more good restaurants within 5 mins walk, although the hotel is perched at the top of Cardiac Hill, so you may need assistance after a heavy meal! Do: hire a car for part of the stay - the 'Top Ten' places to visit are easier this way; visit the Spanish parts of the island; try tapas in cafes and garages; get a voucher from the hotel for airport taxi transfers; and hunt for good Canarian wine - it took us 12 days to find! Garachico, Mt Teide and SantaCruz/LaLaguna are worth visits. The views from some of the hairpin bends are breathtaking. Divers - we can recommend Diversity in Puerto Colon.
A home from home!
We have stayed in this resort many times with 3 generations of our family, all of who find something to entertain them. We prefer to be in this annexe to the Beverly Hills Club as it is smaller and has a more intimate feel. For more lively entertainment we can always go across to the Beverly Hills Club. The children's entertainment in the crocodile club was excellent as are the sports centre and evening entertainment. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. Excellent courtesy bus service down to Los Cristianos, several places you can eat if you do not fancy going to town in the evening. Excellent supermarkets across the road. Stairs to upper floor could be a problem to those with a disability but ground floor apartments can be requested. A new commercial centre has just been completed nearby which will increase the choice of places to shop and eat in the near future. We tend not to go to Resort Properties offices due to reasons mentioned in other reviews, just say a firm no!!
what a joke
My family and I have been coming to Tenerife for 25 years, and this has honestly been the worst time. Firstly we were booked in to the Hollywood Mirage and on arrival told no actually we were now in the Beverly Hills Heights, as it is over the road this did not cause too much of a problem, we were aware that it was time share and were asked to attend a 90 minute meeting (No problem) as we sat there for over 2 1/2 hours we decided to leave, to be faced with threats from the rep about being charged for this and that. The apartment was about a 3 star not a 5 star as stated everything kept shorting out the electric (TV, hairdryer etc) we reported it, they came and looked but did not do anything about it, We were also told there would be no children this was a lie, the walls are paper thin we woken up every morning about 7 am by someone playing music 2 doors away, upon complaint nothing was done about this either. The apartments are in desperate need for some TLC blankets and cupboard doors had fag burns, towels were not changed every day, floor tiles have chunks taken out of them. As for the staff they do not really care, if the music didn’t wake us the maids were there guaranteed. We arrived at the resort at a little before midday to be told we could not get in to our room until 5 pm as we had been up since 4 am we were tired and in need of a shower. When finally we came to our last day our flight was at 23.45 we were to vacate our room at 10am we asked if we could pay and extend the room to be told NO without explanation, the two days before we had had torrential rain constantly, there were elderly people lying in the rain on sun lounges around the pool with only towels to keep them warm as there was no where else to go. The final insult came as we were leaving, if you ask at reception they order taxis for you, we asked if we could have a large car as there was four adults and four large suitcases, the receptionist told us NO we get what comes, So we left and walked down the hill and we found a Taxi rank so eventually we were able to leave. The apartments are at the far end of Los Christianos and the top of a very steep hill, the service is very poor not what is to be expected from a 5 star it appears that when the apartments are stood empty they will fill with anyone for a very cheap price leading to louts and families that can cram as many members in as possible. Thank god we had been to the Island before and did not tarnish our thoughts of Tenerife; it is an excellent place just be wary of this hotel.
Not the worst Timeshare
Not the worst timeshare I have encountered but certainly not the best. We were allocated a 2 bed apartment overlooking the sea for our stay. The apartment was large and considering we were overlooking the main road, it was fairly quiet. Although, considering this resort is marketed as a "Gold Crown resort" the apartment lacked many of the items I would have expected e.g. Diswasher, TV in the bedroom and the air con is only switched on from 12:00 to 15:00 and 18:00 to 01:00. After our first day in the resort we reported 3 issues with our apartment: Toilet didn't flush, the shower leaked and the toaster kept blowing the fuse. After several visits from the resort representative (Resort Properties sales man) and several visits to reception, I finally lost my cool and asked to speak to the on-call manager. This did result in all the issues being addressed but only on the 6 night of our 7 night holiday. The pool area at the resort is fairly small and does become cramped at peak times. Also, the main pool and child pool are very cold, useful for cooling off but not confortable enough to stay in for hours. The other facilities are limited; the bar is only open for food from 10:00 to 16:30 and then completely closes at 18:00. I have owned a timeshare now for 7 years so I am well aware of the approach used by these resorts. At the heights, you will recieve a visit from a very friendly resort representative, who will enquiry if the resort is meeting your needs and whether you require any further information on the resort or what trips are available on Tenerife. This person will then ask all the adults and their children to attend a informal meeting at their offices just down from the Heights resort. Surprisingly, this person has no interest in your holiday and is only trying to sell the resort properties very impressive new holiday club. Yes, it is impressive but it would need to be as it costs £25K up front and £380 per year just for 1 week in any of their 5 resorts. Unless you have money to burn or it is an obligation of your holiday to attend, I suggest you decline their kind offer and get back to enjoying your holiday. If you do have to attend (like Go canaries customers) then I suggest you perform a search on Crimeshare for resort properties. There is enough horror stories on this site to make saying no very easy. In summary, this is a good 3 star resort (not 5 star as advertised) in a good location with comfortable and clean accommodation. It's lack of facilities is covered by its sister resorts but the constant hassle from holiday club (timeshare) salesman can get on your nerves. Remember, show no interest, sign nothing and keep saying no.
Love Steps...
I stayed at the Beverley Hills Heights with my family (inc grandparents and children). Our appartment was a 2 bed apartment which overlooked the bar (which could be really noisy especially when the maids arrive for work and hose everything down at 8.00 am). The accomodation was basic - no dishwasher and no washing machines, no coffee makers, one hair dryer. But it was clean. The pools are very deep, and you are able to use the pools in other blocks ie Mirage (big pool but squashed around it like sardines) or the club pool which is tiny but has a shallow end. The kids liked the kids club and entertainment. In the evening there is a kids disco which links up with happy hour in the bar upstairs and then it is followed by a guy called Kevin doing caberet - a bit working mans club type. Very English! The children had an area called the Croco Swamp to play in - which could get a bit rough but they enjoyed it. The whole resort is on a huge hill - mega steps everywhere - can be really hard work and my parents found this a pain! You need to get a bus to the beach which takes about 10 mins and is again very difficult when you are tired and hot with irritable children. The beach was ok, sandy, fairly clean, although the surrounding area at the beach is filthy. Every day they were broken bottles which were never cleaned up. We found broken glass on the beach. The sunbed problem at the pool was terrible -no way near enough beds. Staff were nice and helpful. Probably would not return - too many little things that made it not perfect really.......
Excellent Resort
Stayed at the resort over Easter Weekend 2005 in room J604 which was on the second floor facing the coast and overlooking the Beverly Hills Club. The resort is certainly clean and of a very good standard throughout. The amenities are also good, although the pool isn't heated and for young children is a bit too cold even at midday. The only problem that we encountered really was that the air conditioning didn't work. It did blow air through the vents but unfortunatly not cold enough to call air conditioned. The reception said it was only switched on at certain times of the day. But we never actually felt it working. Although this is compensated by the large balcony in which too cool down. We certainly would recommend this resort to all. Just beware of the timeshare people. A firm no always works. The resort is located at the top of a hill which is a pleasant walk into town but is a struggle to walk back up particularly after a meal and plenty of drink. Taxis are easily found and for a couple of euros are well worth it. The Bella Roma restaurant located right outside the main entrance is good for a take away pizza, but on our visit for a meal found the staff slow and the meal mediocre. The restaurants we would recommend would have to be 'Tuscany's Steak and Pizzeria','Linares' and the 'Miramar' restaurants in Los Cristianos which are excellent for steak, fish and of course pizza.
Top of the hill and enjoyed every minute
This was a first class holiday in first class accomodation apart from the air conditioning which was fitted but not working, and no matter how much you twiddle the dial it wont come on. The accomodation was clean spacious and quiet. The food in all the bars was excellent and catered for all our needs eg teenagers, vegetarians and children under six! The swimming pool was supervised by a life guard until six o'clock who also provided entertainment for the kids and good looks for all us poor mums! The free bus trips down to the beach were appreciated and were on time and SAFE.This was one of the best holidays we have been on in Tenerife and we have done a fair number. You have got to try ALL the surrounding hotels for a change of scene and they are all related to one another, there is a different atmosphere at each. The kids club, sports centre, ball pool and the CrazyHorse saloon are also all worth a visit .We are now trying desperately to get accomodation there again for next year
