Myself and my Fiancee have just returned back from spending 2 weeks at the Antonis Hotel. When we arrived we were shocked how basic the rooms were, bathrooms really tiny no Air condition but you can pay for this which is 40 euros per week. which you will def need in the hot months as the rooms are so hot. also you must keep the doors to the balcony closed as the hotel is situated on the main road and there is so much noise at night time from the qauds and scooters going past. the hotel is near to the beach and has a shop near bye. And also found it much cheaper to buy your own beer and stick it in the fridge in the room, even though your not meant too.
plenty of restaurants around all serve the same stuff apart from Captain Johns which was bum shankin ech (well good). and there is only one good bar/club (players bar) which plays decent music but the drinks are well expensive. 1 Bud and 1 cocktail was 9 euros.
overall tho if you dont want to spend 2 weeks with loads of chavs you want good weather and a nice time kefalos is ok. its all about what you make of it me and the mrs had a wicked time and cant belive were back in crappy England

We booked a last minute holiday, October to Kefalos and stayed at Antonis Hotel, we love all the Greek islands and have been to a few, but Kefalos is the best. The people, everything all great, Peter what a great guy.
We have been back to Kefalos October 2007 but stayed s/c and have already booked to stay at Antonis again this year, but have to stay for 2wks? can't wait. The hotel is lovely and breakfast is spot on and agree with all the others Peter can't do enough for you. We are really looking forward to meeting all the locals again what else can we say all lovely people. We met an english couple last year who have now moved out to Kefalos hope we see them this year? Something to think about ????

Well my husband Gordon and myself have just returned home after staying at Antonis Hotel, and what a holiday we had. We had read reviews about the place, and have to agree with everyone when they say Peter and his mum make you at home, and cant do enough for you to have a nice relaxing time.
We also met nice people who have been going back year after year, it was home from home. I have to say it was a holiday where both Gordon and myself were not ready to go home.
Next year we are hoping to take my sister and brother-in-law along with us, as we know they will enjoy the lovely Greek food on offer in the many restaurants, and nights at Sydneys Bar, a good holiday all round.

Been back once again for the seventh year, what can I say fantastic once again.
The fridge in the room, beds changed every other day, clean towels every day.
The breakfast are lovely, Peter changes the breakfasts so it doesn’t get boring, sometimes ham and cheese, then boiled eggs, sometimes Greek yogurt with honey plus you get a fab cup of tea just like home, plus toast jam Lurpak butter and fresh orange juice or Nescafe coffee. They do full breakfast just like home best back bacon hp baked beans for 5 euro.
But all the food is lovely no matter what you have you get plenty, sometimes too much, try the Greek salads they are fab, but share 1 to much for 1 person.
If you are going to Kefalos stay here the people are lovely, everybody is friendly all the staff, Pete his mother and Maria and all the guests, you will make a lot of friends we have and meet up with them every year.
Peter has a bar on site, but be careful with his drinks, you will get drunken lol slept well every night and his beer is ice cold and you get iced glasses with your drinks.
I’m going back next year but can’t stay at Peters and I’m so sad I am taking my granddaughter and Peter only does double rooms which is so sad, so am staying at Kamari bay just across the road if you are going here for your holiday give Pete my love and I know you will have a fab holiday.
But a word of warning if you like Benidorm, Ibiza, do not go to Kefalos it is for chilling out only lol so enjoy anybody that is going.

Enjoyed the resort and the Antonis hotel. The Antonis was a typical Greek hotel in the heart of the resort.
Peter who ran the hotel with his mother and 1 helper was a great guy so laid back that nothing phased him. He did everything from meeting and greeting, Breakfast, Barman, pool cleaner and maintenance man. Does he ever sleep?
The hotel was spotlessly clean with several changes of bedding during the week and clean towels every day.
Most people seemed to come back to the bar each evening to drink and chat before retiring to bed.
The resort is not very lively but has an excellent range of tavernas too many to mention and not a one we would not go back too. The food was the best we have had in Greece.
Only 1 or 2 bars that offered live entertainment. Bar Sydney was our favourite.
We had hoped to get to see more of the island during the second week; however a heat wave with temps approaching 50c in the sun made it difficult to get out and about.
We have been to Antonis Hotel...

We have been to Antonis Hotel twice, we are going back this year, we had a lovely time.
Peter and his Mum are so helpful, and I took my own bread with me, as I have a special diet, which he toasted every morning to my satisfaction.
The locals are really friendly; Kefalos Tours next door to the Hotel are also very helpful. Stella works there, does a good deal on hire cars, safety deposit boxes and tours.
If you are looking for a night club holiday, this is not the place for you, but the local restaurants are second to none, I don’t think we had a bad meal while we there.
There is an excellent bar called Bar Maria, really good chilled out place and always very popular.
There is a slight problem with noise at night, but this is the same in the whole village.
The hotel itself is quiet and well run.
Try the Antonis Fruit Salad, Peters Mum makes it while you wait, it’s more than enough and delicious.
Thank you Peter had a wonderful...

Thank you Peter had a wonderful holiday. You and your mother are so relaxed and charming . The food you provided was excellent and the whole of your complex is so relaxing. We will be back next year.
The resort itself is well spread with plenty of options to eat and drink. Everybody we met made us so welcome we felt like we had been going there for years. The island is intriguing with lots of hidden gems like the hidden forest at Plaka. You look over the island thinking there can be no forest however turn down the road to Plaka go round the bends and dip down and suddenly you’re surrounded by trees and peacocks! Lots of them strutting around with peahens followed by their multitude of chicks it was surreal.
Visit Kos town it is modern with that medieval touch.

Just returned from kefalos once again. Had a fantastic holiday once again staying at atonis again would never stay anywhere else, peter is a love and can’t do enough for you.
Made some fantastic new friends and the weather was red hot and the breeze is still there so you don’t really feel the heat. Food still as good and the breakfasts were superb. We have already booked to go back again so if you’re lucky enough to be going, give my love to peter. We are jealous.

What a wonderful peaceful holiday we had at the Antonis hotel peter and his mum couldn’t do enough.
Lovely and clean, good restaurants nearby and the beach is a stones throw away, also a very convenient cocktail bar is literally feet away fantastic, I recommend it to anyone we are going back next year and taking six more with us cant wait.
Lynne the rep is great full of information and advice about the island the transfer is also nice and quick about twenty mins, everything you could want is literally on your doorstep.

We stayed at the Antonis for two weeks and had a great time. Our friends joined us for the second week and none of us could find fault with the accomodation or holiday at all. Peter and his Mum were wonderful so friendly and polite.
Peter even gave us a lift up to the village after the bus didn't stop for us. The food at the poolside bar was very good, and we found a great restaraunt called scorpios for our evening meal.
Overall we had a great time and would definately go back.

Kefelos is great place for mature couples but there seems little there for the younger set.
There are quite a few bars on the sea front and at the far end of the bay there is a small harbour where a couple of dozen fishing boats moor. A ferry service to some of the local islands also operates from the harbour but I''m not sure where it goes.
The beach is very pebbly apart from a small stretch near the harbour where there is a sandy strip but this seems very popular and can get pretty crowded.
Overall we enjoyed our time in Kefelos (the weather in late October was great) and felt that Antonis gave us exactly what we expected - simple and basic accommodation. We would definitely go back.

Just recently returned from a last minute holiday to Kefalos at the Antonis Hotel. After reading some reviews I thought it would be a basic hotel but we were more than happy with our stay. The rooms were simple but clean with the rooms cleaned every day. Peter the owner and the rest of the staff make you feel very welcome and are always willing to help you in any way they can.
Just to note we went the last week in September and the weather was brilliant - mid 80's every day, with one slightly over cast day, as a lot of people said it would be cooling down. Kefalos itself is a quiet and relaxing village with the best of the bars and restaurants being on the seafront. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Been to Kefalos 5 times now and each time it gets better, first time staying at Antonis Hotel though and found it to be a lovely place to stay clean towels everyday, rooms cleaned every day, sheets changed every other day. There was also a bonus of a fridge in your room which was full of booze and snacks (lovely)and ice cold water. Peter the owner is a first class chap met the coach when we got there and carried are cases to our room.
Also catered to our every whim, basic breakfast but the bacon butties you could die for. Look if you want a fantastic holiday and no what Greece accommodation is like stay here you will be made to feel so welcome. We are going back next year and have already booked.
We also met a lot of lovely people who we have arranged to meet next year. All in all a fantastic holiday. If you are going I'm jealous. Anne Ian Burgess.

My fiancée and I recently spent a week in the Antonis Hotel and I have to admit I was apprehensive to say the least on arrival when I read the comments from Mrs C Redman.
The hotel itself is of basic accommodation and does not strive to be something it’s not. It consisted of a moderate sized bedroom with two singles beds, a toilet with shower facility and a balcony (Rm no. 6 is great for the evening sun). Rooms were cleaned every day and were fresh to the eye - no dirt anywhere.
We did spend some time at the pool and as far I was aware no ants to be found. There was traffic noise but this is unavoidable in much of Kefalos as it is so small. No matter where you are your going to hear cars and scooters at some point.
A continental breakfast is served between 8:30am-10:30am by Peter (who IS Greek and extremely pleasant - he even hung around to see us off at 12:10 am). The hotel seems to be a family affair and adds to the relaxed environment. As for the Libra rep Lynne she is a scream and again with 17yrs experience on Kos most helpful.
The actual location of the hotel is splendid as reaching the beach is less than a minutes walk, so great for those who may have mobility problems. A supermarket, phone, car hire and exchange facilities across the street. A bus stop is 15 seconds away if wishing to view others parts of Kos.
The beach front is littered with great restaurants that offer impeccable views for you to stare at for hours on end over your meal or drink(s). Finally I have to say the moon looks great when slightly above the horizon, I’ve never saw it so red.
Thanks!

Looking at the Brochure, the Hotel looked in clean condition and in a quite location. It also appeared to be great value for money. The flight was okay; very standard and then on arrival at the hotel we must have waited for about 30mins before being shown to our room.
The room was clean on arrival, but throughout the holiday we noticed certain problems. i.e. ants coming through a hole in the bathroom wall and the flush on the toilet wasn’t working. (it’s also worth noting that you can’t put toilet paper down the loo, due to the small pipes - you have to put them in the bin provided).
The swimming pool area wasn’t very large and again was crawling with ants - this seemed to be a problem throughout the hotel. The swimming pool itself was okay, but we ended up spending most of the time at the beach because of the problems.
There were also a group of Local kids hanging about outside the hotel on bikes (appeared to be friends with the night porter) - this kept us up throughout the night!!!
Kefalos itself was beautiful and the harbour was lovely at night. However I strongly wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the cheapest in the Libra brochure and when you get there - you'll know why!!!
