stayed there for 2weeks loved it .cathrine our rep was excellent could not fault her was there when you needed her. best tomas cook rep.the staff are nice to.leo, chicco; barbie and the other lad were excellent in what thay had to do with holiday makers. we also went to talk of the town a great night you must go to see
We are going back again this year
We was here August 06 same times as the browns. for the price you can't really grumble come on £660 for 2 weeks. as much alcohol as your can drink, the food is ok and if you don't fancy anything that evening there are lots of very cheap resteraunts. were going back same 2 weeks this year cos we enjoyed our selves. if your a typical brit who likes spain stay away, cos we were sick of moaning brits stick to benidorm next time ok.
Not to Bad
Stayed at ova resort 14/08/2006-28/08/2006 all inc. Food was eddible but not much choice. Stayed in room by the relax pool, very quiet with its own bar but no alcohol you had to walk to the main pool bar for this. A good15 minutes walk to Hisaronu main street, with plenty of deals on for meals, 3 course from £6.00. You can catch dolmus to olu deniz beach, much better place to stay, and a lot hotter.
3* Shambles!!
My husband and I thought we'd treat ourselves to a week's holiday to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, we left the kids at home. We were attracted to the Ova Resort Hotel due to the fact that it was All Inclusive and boasted an all day and evening entertainment programme. On our arrival at the Ova Resort Hotel we were informed that the Manager had made an error with our booking and that there was no room for us that night but that there would be the following day at 12 Noon. We were taken to a Hotel 5 mins walk away without the All Inclusive food and drinks that we had paid for. We had to return to the Ova Resort Hotel for food and drinks. The Hotel was almost certainly a downgrade. We were allocated a room the following day but we wish the Ova Resort Hotel hadn't bothered. Our room was set right to the back of the Hotel resort, was extremely dark with no daylight and although we had the satellite TV and hairdryer facilities the room was very basic indeed. We also very quickly became aware of other people who had experienced a similar disappointment on arrival in that they too were told that there was no room available until the following day due to the Hotel over booking. The food was basic and much the same each day. We did notice on one occasion that burgers which had been cooked for lunchtime snacks appeared to have been chopped up, put in a gravy sauce and set out for dinner. The poolside bar staff were very friendly but we had a problem with the hygiene aspect - ice was put in drinks using bare hands and glasses got a rinse under a tap as a means of washing. My husband had to return drinks on numerous occasions due to there being lipstick around the rim. The entertain program wouldn't even have kept our kids entertained so that was disappointing bearing in mind when you're all inclusive you tend to spend more time in the Hotel resort than going out. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. This was our first time "All Inclusive" and we would stick to "Self Catering" in future. We will certainly NOT be returning to the Ova Resort Hotel and would not recommend it.
Worst hotel the family have stayed
Well i booked this hotel thinking it would be treat for the family as we had never been to Turkey before and we had had the pleasure of all inclusive.I spent a couple of hours on the phone to the Thomas Cook direct operator who informed me the hotel was very poular and would suit my requirements. I paid my £2,500 and was assured i was getting a bargain as the hotel was much dearer if i had booked with the high street shop.We arrived at the hotel about 6pm we were the only family getting off our packed coach which was obviously a sign of things to come. We were shown to our room by the very friendly staff, bearing in mind i was assured it was a family room,my wife and i and my 2 daughters holly 16yrs and faye 12yrs.The room was unbelievable 2 single beds pushed together which was acceptable but a further 2 camp beds which were all side by side. There was no room to move, i called the room the 'Crab Room' as you had to move sideways. my family were clearly distressed at the thought of 2 weeks in these cramped conditions. I spoke with reception who laughed and said,'tomorrow you come back''. We went for our evening meal and as there were no seats in the outside part we had to eat in the very shabby inside part which resembles a 1960 cafe. My daughter went for the barbequed chicken and began tucking in until i noticed it was only half cooked the inside was red raw. That was the end of our evening meal we eat out, next came the breakfast. Well that is a sight to behold, if you like tomatoes, onion, biscuits and cake then you will like it !. there was no cool fresh fruit or yogurts or milk for the cornflakes. I politely asked for some cool milk to accompany my cornflakes, i am still waiting!!!. We finally got our family room after 2 days of haggling. Room 803 well this was a luxury we did not have to climb over one another if we wanted to go to the toilet. Please bear in mind the family rooms are within 20mts of the singing cockerel who sings from 1am until 7am. I guess this was the last straw we had to move otherwise we had been on the next flight home. We moved onto the Asena village, you hear about holidays going wrong this was an experience we will never forget. The hotel is poor it is not worthy of 3* and the selection of food is appalling. I am disappointed with Thomas Cook as the price for this adventure was far too expensive. We would most definately not recommend this hotel
good hotel but with some minor problems
we stayed here for a week, the Hotel was basic but spotless and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. the standard of food was very basic local fare but well presented. there are so many places to eat in the area I would reccommend staying here on B&B and go to the local restaurants, great food and very reasonable prices. The bar had a limited stock of spirits, I'd recommend that you buy your preferred tipple at dalaman airport duty free and bring it with you There's another review saying the pool shallow end is 2m deep, it's wrong, there are 2 pools, 1 is 50cm deep and partitioned from the main pool for children, and the main pool goes from 1m to 2m in depth with the water slide dropping you in 1m of water. also a great and cheap bus service runs nearby All in all I'd go back.
Beware of pool
Beware of the pool, what seems to be the shallow end is in fact 2 m deep. The flume goes into the shallow end and the steps leading into the pool go straight into 2 m deep. Very Dangerous, we were told that they have had a few accidents, including one that one of our party had. On the whole the hotel was ok, staff were lovely, very friendly & cant do enough for you. Entertainment was very repetitive. Aqua aerobics & either water polo or water volleyball every day, that is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Evening entertainment also repetitive, we were there for 11 nights & the shows were repeated. Food is also repetitive, not brilliant but i have seen worse in all inclusive hotels. The all inclusive drinks package was very limited, soft drinks, beer, wine or local spirirts. The rooms were clean & had everything you need. All in all the hotel was ok & the location was superb, outside busy Hisaronu but within walking distance, in the mountains so cooler than Olu Deniz.
Dont stay here!!
The food hygene in this hotel is appaling, food left uncovered (before, during and after meals times) giving rise to bacteria infestation. The previous days food is used the next day disgusied as something else i.e. meat mixed with a diffferent sauce then served with rice etc. - be very careful! we suffered food poisoning and lasted for 4 days, felt i was going to die!! hotel staff didnt want to know, must be the sun they said; well if the sun gives you stomach cramps, fever, severe headaches, constant vomiting and did i mention the hours spent on the toilet thinking your brains are coming out of your rear end??, and it wasnt just us a number of guests suffered the same fate. If you do go here DO NOT have the all inclusive or you will be sorry, everything is cheap, the food and the beer, its just not worth the risk go to the restaurants near by. The way they clean glasses at the bar is also an eye opener, in the uk pubs wash glasses using a dishwasher type machine with hot water and ditergent, not here, a quick swill under a tap and back on the glass rack, couldnt beleive my eye's, otherwise hotel was very average ;-)
great hotel, great holiday
went in sept 2005, on my honeymoon , great hotel and really friendly staff esp ossman and spike with their entertainment, would recommend this hotel and resort to any one , visit the blue lagoon, and some local villages will defaniatly be returning in near future with my daughter as well this time many thanks to all the staff for their hospitallity
