We arrived at the hotel around 3.30am not knowing what to expect after reading varied reviews. We were pleasantly greeted at reception and a porter whisked our luggage to our room. We had a fabulous room with magnificent views. the hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely lovely. We had such a good holiday that we are already saving to come back next year. Thankyou to all the staff for making this such a lovely place to stay.

My husband and I booked this hotel as we were looking for an inexpensive holiday and because of the price we paid, were not expecting a great deal. However, we were pleasantly surprised.
The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
We arrived at about 6am and were promptly checked in and out bags carried to our room.
Our room was clean and spacious with a lovely bathroom. The balcony, however, was not big enough to sit on and the wall was so high that I had to stand on my tip-toes to see anything! That said, the only thing we used the balcony for was drying our clothes as we were too busy socialising at the pool and bar with other residents.
The food was excellent with plenty of choices (definitely NOT for the fish and chip brigade) mostly consisting of traditional Turkish fayre.. Breakfast was continental style with lots of salads, breads, meats & cheeses and fresh omlettes cooked to order.
Lunch and dinner always had several choices and a soup, again with loads of fresh salads.
We spent most of our daytime hours at the quiet relax pool away from the rammy of the family pool with all the noise and pandemonium that comes with loads of kids in one place.
Drinks were fine and the bar staff were definitely not shy at replenishing empty glasses.
All in all, a fabulous holiday.
Don't let all of the negative reviews put you off.

me an my sister's took my mum to the ova resort for her 50th birthday, we didn't no what to exspect because of the mixed reviews but i always believe on making your own judgments.
the staff was very welcoming an friendly, the views was spectacular, the food was great, the entertainment team had various shows on which accomidated all different age groups which was good.
i would deffinately go back next year with my family an would highly reccommend it to other family an friends.

as regular travellers we have stayed in many varied types of accommodation, and the old saying 'you get what you pay for' is often true.....
in this case?
we arrived late at night, it had been raining heavily, and were given directions to our room, my husband, 2 children & myself.
we eventually found our room, right at the back of the hotel and down steep VERY slippy steps (ok no one can do anything about the weather, indersood)
we opened the door and stepped back into a 1950's hovell..it was ghastly! 1st thing we noticed was that it was by no means a secure room. windows had gaps between the top & bottom and didn't close properly. the outside was crumbling away, literally.
once inside we saw that all 4 of us were in the same room, very very cramped, with 2 single beds and a crudely put together bunk..the decore as i said was more 1950's with very poor lighting (electrical cable holding over-head light looked very dodgy) and furniture. the curtain was quite literally hanging off the rail onto the floor..
now on to the bathroom
we opened the door to find a sink so high and so far back that i could not reach to brush my teeth (i'm average height)and so the children didn't stand a chance - my 7 year old kept opologising for missing..the bath was up 2 steps and then straight down into the bath behing a plastic screen.so where's the toilet? my husband closed the bathroom door to find an opening.THE BATHROOM DOOR SERVED AS BOTH DOORS so at any given time you could either have the bathroom door closed OR the toilet door...weird! the toilet itself had a massive split right through it, and i was afraid the kids would pinch their bottoms on it.
i phoned reception straight awy to ask for a room change. was told ALL rooms the same THIS IS NOT TRUE.
in the morning i complained again. was told we could possibly move the following day- saturday.
sat morn- after spending 2 nights worried sick about the security of our possesions-we went back to reception.
no room availabe! now by now we had made friends who could not believe the state of our room (we have photo's) and were told the 'block' we was in was nick-named the STABLES as so dark, damp and awful.
we went to look at 3 rooms via friends we had made. this made me very very angry, especially when i saw the complete contrast to ours. one couple had a massive 2 bed room, flat screen tv the works! they'd paid afraction of what we'd paid!
a family showed is their room. again 2 bedrooms, decent bathroom and looked up to date...were we even IN the same hotel?
we eventually got moved on day 5
the whole time it had been raining. ok no-ones fault BUT the food area flooded constantly, rain cascading onto food, floors, even guests. again floors were extremely dangerous! because the 'entertainment' was around the pool most nights it was cancelled as there is no under-cover seating! one man had a nasty fall pool-side and had to be taken to his room.
as we had gone at the end of the season we noticed the food AND DRINK standards dropped dramatically. have you EVER stayed any where where you can't get cola or diet cola of any discription? one lady complained so often that they said they would send some-one TO THE SUPERMARKET, she explained...people drink it alone or as a mixer, the hotel is full, and you are getting 1 or 2 bottles from the shop? they had taken our money but didn't want to provide us with anything...we were supposed to be all inclusive!!
Hisaronu is a beautiful place i have to say and would deffinatey go back...but never in a million years to the ova resort!!!

I travelled to the Ova resort with my 3 step children and my partner and we had a ball! The place was lovely with amazing views from every angle. The entertainment pool was great fun all day long with the entertainment team are fab (leo, Tutu, Gerry and Tom)they are around between the hours of 10am - 12pm, 2.30pm - 5pm and back for the evening entertainment at around 7pm. The adult only pool was ok(ish) if you wanted to sit in silence with a book which is not a holiday in my eyes. The maids worked long hours everyday to ensure that the rooms were cleaned with fresh towels, the beds were made different everyday with fresh flowers arranged on the pillows :) The food was nice and fresh and hot everyday allthough a little repetitive but ALWAYS something edible.i have a fussy little one who managed to eat 3 meals a day which included veg, rice, pasta, fresh fish, chicken. Breakfast is a must with fresh omelettes and pancakes avaialble and tea time @ 4.30pm is a real plus with the kids (fresh tea and cakes mmmmm) I cannot reccommend this hotel enough it really is lovely and i will be returning next year. I went with an open mind after reading some peoples reviews and we didnt meet anyone there who didnt like the place. Overall i think this place should be awarded a 4* award next year. Travelled 11th Sept - 26th Sept 2010.

i booked this in january had too change rooms twice food repetative and reheated the next day if not all used up that night. flys in abundance landing on your table and food.adult only pool what a joke they changed the sign half way through the holliday so u can have kids there aswell .things going missing from your rooms not swept in two weeks i was there .even used my shampoo too clean the bathroom.some staff were nice if you asked too kepp your room on for a late flight its such hard work but if you are young ang single and goodlooking you get it for a ten pounds but if tou are in your fiftys you have too pay twenty i ended up with a bad stomach for a whole week and have only just got over it .there is no childs menu so some kids lived off chips or rice and pancakes.it wasnt worth the money we paid as i didnt eat for over a week because the food was chicken in all different sauces every night i will never eat chicken again .you are twenty minutes from hissaronu and you are in the middle of nowhere never book trips from the rep as you will get ripped off also you have too be up at 3 in the morning too put your towel on too get a sunbed .also you cannot sit on your balcony unless you sit alone and had a view i had a generator the size of a sub station and a building site and a tukish bath roof also a tree that had been on fire lets say my holliday was crap

We booked our holiday this year to the ova resort. This place is kept extremley clean and have friendly staff who cant do enough for you. However the rooms are very small and if your like us and want to sit out on your balcony with a couple of drinks then I advise you to request a room with a large balcony as most of the rooms that are situated around the main building have balconies that are that small it can only fit one person at a time and if you plan to sit there you have to lean over the balcony to get the door shut(we had a few laughs about that one). The towels are changed every day, you are provided with free air conditioning and free toliet roll. The cleaners are extremley good. The beds are not good however the pilliow feels like your sleeping on concrete for the fortnight (takes its toll after a while) Food - there is always something you can eat and a good salad bar and the snack bar serves chips and burgers. If your a group of young people going here be careful they dont put you in the annex building the resort was meant to have sold on it is dirty and lacking basic amenities such as a proper shower. Entertainment is ok - kids disco is on first with the same songs every night but the kids seem to enjoy it as long as there about 6 or under. They also have a games room that my son tended to play in. They adult entertainment some nights were ok and some nights was cringe worthy but as long as you have good company we tended to make our own entertainment. The thing that really annoyed me about this place was the lack of sunloungers and tables around the kids pool. One morning I got up a early at 7 and all the beds were taken. This happened everday. Also at night to ensure you have a table we had to go for something to eat in turns so we had somewhere to sit for the entertainment at night. Thats why we ate out quiet a bit so we could eat as a family. You also get woken up a around 4 with the prayers and the cockeral going. Also the young people are mixed in with the families so when there coming in after the foam parties around 4/5 the noise is harendous. In a more positive note the weather is fantastic very hot during the day and lovley and cool at night. Lovley town centre at night with plenty of good places to eat.

Although we stayed here last June 2011 i had to put this review up after reading all the bad ones. We were in a top room and it was lovely, newly decorated and clean while the beds were a little too hard for me not bad and nice clean bathroom. I found the food good not a lot to choose from but all meals were adequet and i never went hungry. The entertainment isnt buzzing but the team are lovely and i got friendly with all of them if your willing to join in and have a laugh youll have a good time. We met so many great people as its a small hotel you meet the same people at the bar every night and laughed all holiday and when the bar shuts there a cocktail bar near the quiet pool. Walk out of the hotel and there are lovely restaurants all the way down to Hisaronu which is great and the food is very cheap and good i loved it down there. The trips are good and cheap for what you get. If your thinking of going dont let the negative reviews put you off for what we paid we got a real bargain and loved every minute of it, i read reviews saying they were so bored they were in bed by 9.30 ? i never went before 2.30 and enjoyed the banter at the bar with the bar staff and holiday makers alike, enjoy.
