When I saw the hotel on the brochure looked like heaven, the reality is different. Most people write good reviews and i read them all before i left to Hammamet. We traveled by night so we arrived at 6.30 in the morning, tired, hungry and in need of showers. The Panorama... more

I went to Tunisia for the 2nd time. We went on 1 trip the African Dream that was fantastic.
The staff at les Citronniers are very friendly. The food is ok you have some English food like steak, chips, pizzas of your choice. There are lot of other restaurants around.

great hotel
Me my wife and 3 kids stayed here for 2 weeks the rooms were basic but always clean, the food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful always ready to help with anything and great with the kids. although this is only a 2 star hotel i would rate it higher. we do intend to go back sometime and i would recommend this hotel. The beach was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and they had their own private part on the beach with a nice place to get drinks and food. the hotel has its own swimming pool which the kids and myself made good use of.
Very pleasant hotel
I have been in Tunisia for many years (2 or 3 times a year) by plane or with my 4x4. Usually I don't like very much to stay in hotel 'cause I prefer to get contact and speak with natives. I came across hotel les citronniers ( found in a book ) when getting back to Tunis. So good, so nice. Good Quality/price. At first, welcome at front desk is very sweet. Then lemon cocktails.... Room : very clean. Pool : great. Beach : just cross the street and get to the private stand. Food : very good. So I come again by plane to spend a 4 days week-end in June.... Cool, no?
loved the hotel
Apart from the bad weather and crazy thunderstorms my friend & I had such a wonderful time but that was down to the staff & the lovely people we met there, i have never met so many happy hardworking staff in all my travelling which I do, would recommend this hotel to anyone.... these guys deserve a bonus for there hard work, well done everyone . i will be back x
Fantastic
Stayed at this Hotel for the last 3 years in September and I cannot fault it. The staff are excellent, food is beautiful and the rooms are very clean. Staff have now become like a family to us. The beach is lovely and clean and not far from the Hotel. See you soon guys.
briliant!
well i stayed here 2 times in a row, 2000 and 2001, a while ago but the hotel is loveley and i would love to go back. The staff were welcoming and helped you if needed if you wanted to go places. The food was lovely and of course a place with nice weather ia what you need. yes it was a little noisy but i felt that wasn't a problem as it wasn't the hotels fault. it was the publi, that was part for hammamet that we can not stop.
Good Clean Hotel
Les Citronniers is a good clean hotel with friendly staff. The restaurant and bar seemed to be the busiet in the local area and beware that both get filled with lots of cigarette smoke as evryone is inside due to the cold temperature. The food in the restaurant was average and don't expect much traditional tunisian cooking but for the prices, you can't really complain. I was surprised at how quiet Hammamet was at this time of year and there really weren't too many people around and most bars/restaurants were closed. Sunny during the day and freezing in the evening! The beach is gorgeous and I imagine that Hammamet is primarily a summer resort. Female groups without male company beware of the undue attention from the local men.
A Truely relaxing Holiday
Upon our arrival the staff where completly at our service, suppling us with food, and drink, also the safety deposit box key, when we pointed out we did not have any Dinar,it was just a question of pay us tomorrow. The rooms are very basic, but ,also very clean, and are kept that way by a dedicated and cheerful cleaning staff,We had a room at the front of the Hotel just above the resturant,it did not affect our sleep or any other aspect of our stay. On coming down to breakfast we where disappointed to find that even though we had been assured by our travel company, that we should receive a full English breakfast, there was not even any Cereal on the menu, however we put this behind us. Our rep was very informative, without being driven by just getting you to book on trips, pointing out the shortcomings,as well as the advantages.A short walk down a zig zag passageway brings you to the beach,a gloriuos expanse of sand and adventure,ie;water sports at reasonable prices, also a snack bar,the food is as good as any other on the beach, but the staff are superb, again the price is reasonable. We stayed Half Board ,but there is also an excellent A LA CARTE menu available. All in all a wonderful two weeks,we will be returning
Not recommended
Was I staying at same hotel as some of your reviewers, I found the rooms un pleasant. dated, but worst of all was the noise at night. I didn't get any sleep at all because the noise from the bar at the front of the building, and general noise from the local area, didn't stop untill about 4 am and other guests had said it was worse that one night than before but did also say it was generally noisy at night. As myself and my wife went for a rest, we moved hotel the next day. I have stayed in 2 star hotels before, but sorry, this was the one of the worst.
had a good time
hi all i have just came back from a wonderful holiday in tunisia where we stayed at the hotel les citronniers which was a very clean and friendly hotel the people there was excellent the food was very nice and plenty of choice and also very cheap the beach is just across the road which is beautiful the only negative comment i have is that there wasnt any entertainment in the hotel the two weeks we were there but nevertheless a most enjoyable holiday
Absolutly Great Hotel
Me and my faince, stayed in hotel from 17.august till 31.August 2005. We travel with panorama holiday. (great price and good servis). We had breakfast only, and now we so happy we chooseed that. So we tried local food in different restaurant. Hotel was great, small but very friendly. Beach was one from best by sea from Hammamet to Yasmen Hammamet. As we walk by we sawsome other hotel's beaches, pach, unbrealas so closte to each other and quit dirty. Ouw was short walk from hotel, 5 min max, that was privat and belongs to hotel Les citronnier. Great Snack Bar on it. We ate aour food under unbrella on the bech and those moments I will remeber forever. Our restaurat was one of best in resort, so many local people were coming there for dinner and luch, so thats mean a lot in Tunisia. My recomendation is To try Finsh on Sfaxian Style and Tunisian salad. we loved it so much. We missed taht place already. Pool was not big but nice, not many people, and poolside has a bar. |every nich is bingo and other enterteiment. Rooms are simple, but very clean, cleaning every day with new towels.Hotel is rated as 2 ** but at least 3** we found vey hepefull to be able topay by credit card in hotel, as for food or other servis. as well there is money exchange possibility. Safe box can be hire also air fans. If you have more questions don't hasitate to contact me. michal.kolcun@zoznam.sk I can answer you question about trips around ar in Tunisia.
