This was our first visit to Tunisia and our honeymoon to boot ! On our first evening there we thought we would hate it as we got a lot of hassle from local shopkeepers as we went for a stroll round the block. However, by the end of our fortnight we had adapted to the situation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves going round the medina and bantering with the shopkeepers. Take a sense of humour with you and you will be fine.
The hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the pool and beach area were wonderful. A good way to get to the medina hassle free was walking along the beach where touts are thin on the ground.
The rep in the hotel was the best we have ever had, polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble (Thanks Pat)
We went on 4 trips during our stay and all were excellent. The best was the Bedouin trip as you visit the more remote areas and get to see a proper market with no pressure. The Sahara trip was really good too and helps you to see more of the proper Tunisia although for some people the mileage might be too much. The Carthage trip is really interesting with the mosaics in the museum and the walk round Carthage itself. The Roman explorer is also good with wonderful views and a real sense of history (again the trip is long as only minor roads are used. The food is wonderfully cheap and the rose wines are a must for the cool evenings.
The hotel has a small amount of entertainment, which is quite touristy, and not to our taste but if you can’t make your own entertainment then go to Blackpool. A pack of cards and a good book are a good idea.
If you leave the hotel take your own loo roll and plenty of small change for tips.
We had a wonderful experience and would go again. It’s not Europe and makes a lovely change. Make an effort at basic French and remember it’s a poor country but not short on humour or its own sense of pride.

Had a fantastic holiday. very close to the beach. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Food was very good whether you eat on the beech or in the restaurant you got the same quality. Don’t be put of because it’s only a 2 star property, would definitely go back. Don’t be put of by the shop keepers pestering you, just tell them you will come back later.
It was our first visit to Tunisia and we fell in love with it.
