If you are looking for a cheap break this place is cheap, but the problem is everything around it is cheap as well, there is little or no repair done to any of the fixtures or fittings, the shutters either don't fit or lock, the place is a health and safety hazrad for all concerned, there are exposed live cable and motar falling out of walls, hey don't take my word for it waste you money and see for yourself, if you agree please send me you photos and comments to caledoniaadeje@aol.com as I am getting as much information on this complex to put in front of the holiday operatours to prove to them that this place is a hazard waiting to exploded, then it will be to late as somebody gets hurt, so get in touch and lets stop this complex ripping us all off

My boyfriend and I (aged 34 & 35) have just returned from an All Inclusive holiday at this hotel. Having read countless reviews on this place saying how awful it was, we were really worried about what we might find! However we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The man at reception was friendly and our room was clean, with a kitchen area, balcony and modern bathroom. A maid came to clean the room every day, changing the bed covers and towels in the bathroom.
The pool was quite big and clean with plenty of sun loungers available all day long. The restaurant always had a full supply of food, offering soups, salads and hot meals every lunch time and dinner time, with fruit, ice-cream and cakes for dessert. For breakfast there were cereals, a full fry up, croissants and fruit. During the day snacks were readily available from the pool bar consisting of toasted sandwiches, chips, pizza, hot dogs etc. There was a large selection of drinks and you never had to wait too long to be served. Although the food did become a little repetitive towards the end of the week, we thought it was pretty good for the money paid.
The entertainment was ok most nights, featuring the usual bingo, quizzes etc. The music finished around 11pm…although we were sometimes kept awake half the night by drunk people screaming and shouting, however this should be expected due to booze being on tap all day and night and was down to fellow holiday makers, definitely not the hotel's fault!
Overall we had a really good holiday and can't complain considering what we paid for it. The one thing we did notice is how many people LOVE to moan about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING so take all the bad reviews on here with a pinch of salt!
Oh and Siam Park is a must! We went there on our last day and it was brilliant!!

Me and my fiance (both under 22) got back last week from this hotel. i had read the reviews and to be honest was petrified of what our room was going to be like. got there at 8.30pm on a sunday, got our key straight away and were directed to our room. room was located about ten steps away from the pool on the ground floor, saw 2 cockroaches on the way there but they were all i saw all week in regards to insects!! room was fine. i would say it was a good size, large sofa, small tv - 1 euro per hour - double bed, small kitchen, hardly any kitchenware but hey, bathroom was really nice, brand new toilet, bidet (or however its spelt!) bath with shower attachment and a large mirror above sink area. was all white and granite, and seemed very clean. we had fresh towels and our bed made every day. whenever we saw the maids they were very polite.
food was average, breakfast included meats, cheese, bacon, toast chips and beans. probably cereal but i never looked! we went out for breakfast most mornings as we usually missed it at the hotel as it finished at ten... loads of small restaurants just down the (smallish) hill, which sold full english brekkies for about 4 euros. lunch and dinner were pretty much the same, chicken, risotto, paella, chips, fresh salad and fresh fish. bar snacks in the afternoon are chips hotdogs, pizza etc - not the best standard, most of it pretty cold. i dont drink alcohol at the moment but was told the beer was good :) they limit you to two drinks each, but each member of your party can go up and get two and they wouldnt care. and yes they are served in plastic cups, but so were the drinks on the carribbean cruise i went on at christmas - its for safety by the pool! entertainment was alright the nights we saw it. one night was a bird show, they had a snowy owl and bald headed eagle flying through the entertainment room/hall! they had bingo, karaoke, girls v boys, the usual english entertainment i would say.
pool was massive, would say the picture is a true reflection. didnt go in it, as it was quite cold being march. but people in there looked happy enough! there was music playing by the pool each day, at a nice volume which i think most people appreciated. was also paella and sangria demonstration one day, and a few pool tournaments throughout the week.
its definately not 10 minutes walk from veronica strip, def a 5 min taxi drive for between 4-8 euros. some nice shops down there, bars were pretty empty this time of year, and they dont half hassle to get you in for drinks! but everyone down there was friendly. we usually went a 2 minute walk from the hotel just down the hill to snoopys, karaoke/comedy bar - absolutely brilliant entertainment! tina turner/amy winehouse impersenator was incredible! a must see! just across the road from here is a slope that goes all the way down to the beach, 5 minute walk i would say. 4 euros for sunbeds with comfy pads on! surrounded by bars restaurants and shops, rele lovely beach - if u dont mind it being too busy.
all in all, would definately go back to this part of tenerife. hotel was okay, not bad, not excellent, just okay i would say. was a nice clean base, and near most areas. if your after a higher standard, then stop being cheap and pay for a 5* hotel. but at the end of the day, you make your holiday what it is, and we both had a great time.

ME and my boyfriend both 20, booked her and we have never ever been to such an awfull hotel. It was DISGUSTING. When we arrived we thought oh my god. then when we got to our room the door handle fell off, and reception were anything but helpfull. the windows have metal shutters on them, and the bed had smelly old linen on them and they were like prison beds rusty metal frames, this was all with in an hour of arriving, we walked round the hotel you couldnt even call the bar a bar, the food looked like prison slope. we didnt even dare to try it, and that was enough we wasnt staying there one night so went and checked out and paid £450 to check into the Esmerelda which was excellent. You'd be mad to ignore all these reviews and stay there.

Well i know you get what you pay for and this was a cheap holiday, but sorry it has to be classed as a 'holiday from hell'. The photos of the hotel and the video on the internet belie the shabbiness of the exterior and interior. Basic canteen style dining room, rubbish food - half cooked chips - surely we could expect a decent plate of chips at least!
Our real gripe though, is with the service of the staff. Okay it's all inclusive but no need to treat us like a herd of cattle. The snacks were supposed to be served between 11am and 12am. However, they never opened the snackbar until 11.15am every morning but always managed to shut it dead on 12am. Obviously this way they were saving money but we had actually paid for this facility. They also only ever had one person serving, so the que was a mile long. It was too bad if you had stood there for half an hour and 12am came along - the shutter was pulled down right at your face! Also same problem in dining room, there is a bar serving free wine but never anybody behind it. When i was there everybody got so fed up they started going behind the bar and helping theirselves - funnily enough all of a sudden a waiter would appear! Also very unhelpfull staff- would not supply clean towels on a Sunday even although ours were dirty - you would think we were asking for the crown jewels! All the plates in the dining room are old and scratched. Just a very depressing place to spend a holiday regardless of what you pay. Plastic cups and plastic seats- there was no real 'lounge area' so we actually never had any 'free' drink any night - just went out to the local pubs- i think this has to be a delibarate ploy! Also walked into the supermarket which is part of the 'complex' and the phrase 'you're having a laugh' came to mind, talk about under stocked! We needed a bottle of shampoo and there was literally 1 bottle left. Mostly bear shelves and some sweets and crisps - rubbish!! We were going to complain but felt it would be a waste of time. Heard one lady complaining to the Rep' when we were leaving and the Rep said 'everybody's expectations of a holiday are different' Well i dont think anybody i spoke to expected it to be so bad!! I hear they are closing it down - just as well cos i think they will be running out of customers. Just one thing more - 'Thomas Cook - how can you have something like this on your books - it doesn't do you justice!

My husband and i were recently in Tenerife,it was our first time there and our first holiday for quite a while as we have had some business problems. We decided a quick gettaway would do us both some good so booked for the holiday via the internet.
The hotel we chose to stay at looked appealing and at a reasonable price, yet when we arrived we were totally disgusted at the hotel and it cetainly didn´t measure to the standard promoting it on the internet.
We then decided that we would only spend the night there and wander around during the day, we did so for the first 3days and on the 4th day were stopped by a young couple who gave some cards and when we rubbed it off it was revealed we had won the star prize. We´d heard of cons like this but it was raining and to not have to go back to the hotel agreed to go and claim the ´gift´.
Upon arrival at the reception we had to give some details then were met by a representative for Connections6. After an hour chatting and browsing what they had to offer us, we realised that maybe it was a good product after all as their accommodation is 4 to 5star and prices are still reasonably cheaper than the holiday we had paid for.
After careful thinking and a lot of price searching we decided to become members and have never looked back since. We now holiday a lot more and have never been allocated a hotel as poor quality as Caledonia Park, whom we booked from the internet last year.
We have read all comments in regard to Connections6 and it does worry us but after being members for 2years all is ok and we would, and do recommend them to our friends as it allows us to holiday at the best price.

If fried pek and custard with digestive buscuits is your thing then you will love it here !! On arriving our hotel room looked like the Happy Mondays had a party in it , . .there where bottles of booze everywhere , fag ends , piles of sick ect ect . . The staff are rude and obnoxious and really dont care . .the food is fine if you dont have any kind of taste buds or are that drunk of the sour wine you dont care what you eat We managed to make the most of it as we where in a large group so had a laugh amongst ourselves that is until day 4 when 2 of our rooms got broken into. They had ripped open the cases stole jewelery, perfume , cigarettes , hair straightners ect ect. We later found out that we where not the only ones who this had happened to and 4 other rooms had been broken into Everyone says you get what you pay for (which the rep kindly reminded us of ) but you dont pay for theft and obnoxious staff surely ??!! We managed to move hotels after this so we could enjoy the rest of our holiday !! We where also advised that the hotel is shutting down for a refurb ( about 10 years too late ) and that Thomas Cook wont be taking it back on . .case closed

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff advised it is due for closure April 2009 , February would be better. Lounge and bar area furnishings were disgsuting dirty, burst, melted or rusty. All drinks at all times from plastic cups, food was cold disgusting , and bland. Roof tops/sun blinds of main building were falling through, windows in restaurant were so dirty you could not see out, burst/dirty plaster in many areas, filthy run down garden areas with burnt out rough ground /grass? covered in dirty plastic cups. In the 2 days we had to stay before being moved I did not see any washing / hosing down around pool areas. Towels were grubby and grey - no running hot water in pool toilets. Light switches and surround of doors have been used as ashtrays/carving utensil for a number of years.Throughout island this hotel seems to be well known and all we spoke to burst out laughing when we said where we were staying. Many other families had similar complaints- 2 had been moved room 4 times, 1 burgaled, 1 family of ten shared 2 rooms sleeping on lounge sofas, 2 families booking in before were moved immediately , another like ourselves had to wait 2 days. No evidence of entertainment, p/t guy stated no one wanted it - only evidence was 1 very old rusty outdoor speaker. All in all very unhygenic depressing, condemened building. Realisitc rating should be 0/10 and tour operators should remove this hotel from their listing if they want to keep their credibility!

This hotel threatened to ruin our holiday, only for the good weather saving us from returning to this miserable dump on too many occassions.
On the face of it it wasn't to bad when we arrived it was clean, in a good location quiet of a night but within a short walk of most of the attractions.
However in the cold light of day the cracks started to appear, the place was full of stray cats and in dire need of some rerurbishment, everything looked old and delapidated.
I tried to open the window shutters only for the locking mechanism to fall apart in my hand furthermore the lock on the window that this was protecting did not work leaving us afraid of being robbed.
The hot water ran cold after about 5 minutes and you had to wait for the water to reheat, there was only 2 of us, I don't know how a family of four would cope.
Furthermore whilst in the shower if the water didn't drain fast enough it leaked all over the bathroom floor.
All these problems I reported to reception and nothing was done.
After 3 days the maid had not visited our room when we asked reception why, they said as we were self catering guests we were only entitled to one visit by the maid, which was the following day they did however say they would provide clean towels. On our return to the room that evening we found the dirty towels had been folded neatly and put back in the bathroom and new towels had not been supplied. We then returned to reception to complain and explain that this was unhygenic but for some reason they had changed there mind and now refused to provide the clean towels they had previously promised.
The staff are unhelpful and unapologetic this was further proven by the barman who served drinks at the pool who all but refused to serve us drinks on 2 occasions due to the fact he had no change.
Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this place. THIS IS FAR FROM A 3 STAR HOTEL!

when booking my holiday i was told we would be a 10min walk from the veronica strip which was a lie, we had to get a taxi there which costed 7+ euro one way and 4+ euros the other way.. the food in the hotel was ok same food on some days but plenty of variety for everyone...(chips chips chips) lol.
The hotel room had 2 single beds in one room and the other beds were the sofa in the frontroom which were uncomfortable!!!
The staff were not very happy and never seemed to smile,BUT when needed anything for the room the maids brought it straight away.. the hotel was clean and tidy but very basic....The pool is not as big as it looks in the book but was ok... there was alot of activites for the children to do, squash tennis and a small playpark..
The REP FRANKIE was fantastic she mad up for all the bad bits of the holiday she was FAB, FUN AND CARING......
