Caledonia Park... over all was a really good holiday!!
People are just so fussy, its really annoying to read people bad mouthin this hotel. .... you get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!
yeh so what the waiters are abit moody, what do u expect they work all hours of the day.
The room we had was massive, had a huge balcony, really nice to sit on a night and have a drink.
Food - loads to choose from, roast dinners, salads, meats, chips, pasta and so on.
couldnt go wrong with the food.. but we still ate out a few nights for a change.
Pool - Plays music during the day, can be loud but so what!
Entertainment - A good choice of shows each night, but we went out instead.
The Hill is a bit of a killer but not as bad as people say.
Waterpark - Right next door and a fun day out!!
The man who sells excursions down the road was class, buy them from him. dirt cheap.
beach is lush. great watersports available. jet skiing was great!
Over all the holiday was really good. cheap as!!!
Dont listen to the fussy people who expect royalty.
Would return to this hotel.

on arriving (fri 26th sept 2008 )at caledonia aparthotel our first impression was not too bad. however upon getting our room key and going in to our room my family and i were appalled at what we got (very basic front room and old furniture, bedroom was awlful slates missing off the underneath of bed which made mattress sink and bedlinen was much to be desired)the bathroom was lovely(best bit). pool/ area ok apart from tiles around pool very slippery people kept falling over. pool bar good very friendly staff. brkfast lunch and evening meal a very basic selection that wasnt 9 times out of ten not edible(we ate out mostly every evening ) while we were there there were 8 breakins within 2 days. if you are looking for an all inclusive holiday do not waste your money on this hotel .

Me and my boyfriend have not long...
8 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss S Simpson

Me and my boyfriend have not long returned from 2 weeks at Caledonia park in Tenerife. We had a brilliant time and we are returning in January.
One of the only problems for me was that I am a fussy eater, and while the food was ok there wasn't alot of choice, most nights I managed to find something I could eat, but we did spend a bit of money eating out. Most people would be able to find something they liked. The only other problem was that after we checked out my boyfriend rememberd that we had left some stuff (photos, cigarettes, handbag, towel and alcohol) in the room and he asked reception if he could go back to get them, they said this wasn't a problem. When he came back down he told the man at reception that the maid had already been in and the stuff was gone, the receptionist said he would find out from her where she had put it and it turned out she had thrown it all out. I was upset because she said that people leave things on purpose, which is fair enough but I said people also leave things by accident and things like my handbag and photos we had professionally done while we were there should have been handed in incase we came back for them. He was very apologetic and was genuinly sorry. It was just unfortunate.
While we were there the company we were with went bust and our flights got cancelled, the staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly whilst helping us to find out when we would be getting another flight.
Anyways we had a brilliant holiday, the hotel and location is brilliant, there is a hill leading upto the hotel but its not as bad as people have made out but people with walking difficulties would struggle.
We didnt see much of the entertainment as we wet out every night I would reccommend O'Reillys Irish bar its brilliant the live music is fantastic, great atmosphere.
Garfields and the Amsterdam bar are great too and the drink is cheap :)
The Indian restaurant above San Eugenio shopping centre is great too I'd reccommend going there because I didnt like Indian food untill I tried their korma!
I'd also reccommend Loro Parque and Aqualand, both great days out! And the man who sits in his little booth just down from San Eugenio gives great info and prices for all excursions and trips etc!
I will definetly be returning to Caledonia park I think its a great hotel for all ages, families, couples, and groups. The staff are great, what I saw of the entertainment was great, pool is great, foods ok, rooms are lovely and maids came every 2nd day with new sheets towels etc.
All in all I had a great holiday and cant wait to go back!

me and my boyfriend are just back...

Sep 2008, Miss A Clarke

me and my boyfriend are just back from this hotel, we had a great time, did not want to come home, we were only there 1 week but we really wanted to stay for 2.
the staff are really friendly, they did take the mick out us because we are scottish but it was all in good humour,
the apartments we cleaned every second day with new towels, the only negative was that the apartments were not air conditioned and were really hot and also the beds kept breaking but it gave us a good laugh, haha,
the food we thought was great, every day there was something else, it was all our food ie steak pie , cottage pie, pasta and lots of salad, meat with stuffing and roast potatoes, no veel to be seen haha,
the entertainment at night was good, started with quiz then kids disco and then BINGO (Keiths Favourite) you watchng for line haha, then it was a show on every night at 10,
we would defo go back to this hotel so relaxing and enjoyable,

just got back from a great week at...

Sep 2008, Mr J Burt

just got back from a great week at caledonia park, havibg read some of the reviews i was a bit worried before going but had a brilliant week.
our room was realy nice and clean and the maid service was very good, staff were mostly freindly including a couple of very mad bar staff on an evening. we had no proplems with the food, you would have had to be very picky to complain about it and we ate well for the week. The pool was very nice and we spent most of our time around the pool, as long as you get to the pool for 9 you will be able to get a lounger no proplem.
the entertainment is good and special mention to chris who was brilliant for the week and was realy good with the kids. the shows are hit and miss but every night was a good laugh. There is a hill to the complex but it is not nearly as bad as you think when you read other reviews. the only negative thing is that the place could do with a bit of a touch up on the outsides, paintworkcrumbling a bit, but apart from that if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and dont want to walk about too much then i recomend this place

arrived back from caledonia park on...
8 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr W WAYNE

arrived back from caledonia park on friday, after problems after problems with the booking with on the baech, and after reading the reviews of others who had stayed i started to think that this was going to be one of those holidyays from hell, but turned out to be really good.
we went with a family of 13 ages ranged from 15months- 50 lol.
ya some points are true and could be improved on,
there were a couple of broken sunbeds around the pool.
pool side was slippery,
2 slopes in pool could not been seen and could of been dangerous for non swimmers,
rooms 501 - 513 are by the reception and get noisey at night time when taxi arriving from town,
rooms were basic
steps in rooms were very dangerous had a metal strip around them which i cut myself on them twice,
lots of stairs so not suitable for elderly
reception staff were helpful
can hire fans, safes, irons etc from hotel,
tv are not free so are payg,
me being 26 never managed to get out of bed for breakfast or a sunbed. there were always sunbeds around the pool in the afternoon with a towel on them with no one there.
food was ok aways a carvery on offer and salad, chips, pasta. after a week of eating at the same place it does get a bit boring so tried elsewhere, chinese restaurant buffet style called hong kong is a must do, only a 10 min walk away.
chris the entertainer was very good lots of differnt shows at nightime only see the same show twice throughout our 2 weeks and that was the eagle show,
jungle park is a thing to do one of the best zoos i have ever been to, free transport with there bus.
aqua park and the dolphin show was best id ever seen amazing, have to pay for rental of sunbeds and lockers, and ring hire we never bothered.
both night and day there are alot of people selling excursions, hair brading and loads of nookie nookie men from africa, just tell them to p**s off lol.
i would definlty go back to tenerife but would never go back to the caledonia park as i got bored with being all inclusive, got fed up of drinking out of plastic cups like being a 2 year old again.

I was dreading going here after...
8 / 10
Sep 2008, EJR1972

I was dreading going here after reading the reviews - people seemed to either love it or hate it.
Myself and my partner along with my 5 year old went (it was his first holiday and he thoroughly enjoyed it). Met lots of people and he cried his eyes out when we said goodbye to some friends of ours - a particularly 20 year old was absolutely great with him and we are all keeping in touch.
With regards to cleanliness, personnally I don't change my sheets every 2 days but was very impressed with our Maid - we were on the 3rd floor and our maid was excellent - we were there 11 nights / 12 days and I'd say out of all of those there were only 2 days that she didn't change sheets/clean floor etc. The other people we met who were situated on ground floor near the pool however were not so lucky and basically she done sod all.
For breakfast/lunch you put up with food in restaurant but after 2 evenings of going in there for food we were fed up with it - don't get me wrong a few choices but just not that appealing - personally when I walked in there I immediately became not hungry. We ate thereafter - Mario's was our favourite and the garlic prawns starter is to die for. Also waiters in there are sooooo good with kids - my son loved it in there and would stand with the waiters asking people "would you like to eat here sometime"! Don't get me wrong, these guys don't drag you in and pester you like they do at the beginning of the street which can be a pain as you get sick of saying "ok mate, already eaten" - or "thanks I have one" from the chinese lady that always offers you a menu!
I had booked this due to there being a kids club but they don't exactly "shout" about it. The spanish girls that run it came round to pool twice in the 12 days there saying about mini club - my son went once but he was on his own there as most of the kids just love being round the pool so wouldn't go back again.
Entertainment in evening was what you'd expect - entertainers seem to do the rounds in the resort. Ripped off by the snake people - had a picture done and had to pay for it before I'd even seen it - 2 for 20 euros though so myself and one of the girls we met went halves. Collected from reception next day but not in a sleeve like most other places (aqua park/jungle park/boat trips) and had it done near the pool at night and expected it to have a bit more to it - but was cr*p. I had said to the lady (that also does the eagle show) - what if I don't like the picutre do I get my money back, she said basically "listen love, you will like them they are professional" - well what a load of cr*p!
One warning about the waterpark - I went there 7 years ago and just paid your entrance fee and that was it - well not anymore. Around 6 euros for a locker (that you don't get money back for) then you have to pay for the inflatables you need for some of the rides - rip off. I paid 11 euros for a double and 8 euros for a single. We went with another guy and his 10 year old and his 10 year old went on the tornado then was refused on the kamakaze - yet both had the same height restrictions and he was ok on tornado - coudln't work that out - anyway his dad complained to the manager and said wanted his money back as nothing his son could go on and they did give him money back for everything. I'd suggest you take the packed lunches from the hotel if you go to any of these places - they are very good - lots in them - wouldn't eat all of it but little boy liked jam so made jam sandwiches and we had salami and cheese sandwiches/rolls - plus lots of fruit and 2 drinks each so not bad - probably better than eating in the restaurant of a lunchtime!
Chris was excellent for entertainment in the evening, my son was a little funny about getting on stage but one of the lads we met got him up there with him and then there was no stopping him, or me! Our favourite was "From Paris to Berlin" & "star trekking".
Overall enjoyed it, although mainly through the people we met there and weather was great, always got a sunbed, trees around if you want shade then get up at 8.45 and get your spot if no parasols. One thing I would say is weekends seemed to have alot of spanish from the mainland. Kids were a nightmare and seemed very aggressive - one of them scratched my son on his nose and another boy on his bum and the parents just seem to let them get on with it.
I reckon the people that have complained about it being more like an 18-30 than a family resort are talking out of there backsides - yes you get a few groups of lads there but mainly families. Maybe the ones that have said this have gone when most kids are still at school in term time.
Oh yes and I agree with the comment about the waiters - they are there at breakfast, serving in pool bar in day, then in restaurant and then in bar at night, then clearing tables from pool around 11.30/12.00am and back at 8 for breakfast again. Waiters behind bar are friendly and funny - one was particularly funny if you wore a barcelona top as he is Real Madrid supporter! Reception staff are hit and miss - the girl with blonde hair is as miserable as sin - never seen her smile - but couple of the guys were very helpful.
Overall - yes enjoyed it - didn't enjoy the food at lunch/evening but no dramas there - took extra money with us anyway as who wants to spend 24/7 in the same place anyway!

Just come back yesterday, had a great...

Aug 2008, Mrs D Livingstone

Just come back yesterday, had a great holiday ,food was fine not sure what people are complaining about ,loads of variety at every meal there was something for everyone ,room was clean ,maids were polite, the waiters were very efficient ,the entertainment wasnt for everyone but there was something different every night ,thought elvis was going to be dire but he was really funny , as for it been hilly not really the hotels fault and as for the stairs well the tour op should inform you of that.there are rooms on the bottom and there is a lift.saw a few cockroaches but what do people expect its tenerife .you cant train them not to come into your room.not that i seen any in the room.one negative thing is that there should be more parasols at least 1 to every 2 beds, pool area was fine yes its slippy .lots for the kids to do. no air conditioning in the rooms but i knew this when i booked hired a fan for 30 euros and you get 10 back thats ok.hired a hairdryer and got deposit off that too that was off a company. the safe key and kettle got all money back for hireing those.could do with a lick of paint but other than that was definately very clean. Most of the staff were very pleasant . Had a great time.

Just come back from staying in the...
7 / 10
Aug 2008, Miss G Mc

Just come back from staying in the Caledonia for 1 week. Although i can agree with certain points people have made about the hotel, it is not half as bad as people are making out!
Good points and bad points will vary from person to person, therefore you do not know what you are going to get until you are there.
For us, the good points are:
The waiters we found were very friendly. People need to appreciate that they are working their back sides off in the place! They are usually in from morning till after midnight serving, cleaning, clearing up and are there again the next morning. It left us wondering whether they had actually gone to bed and probably getting paid a pittance. I feel quite strongly about this point as people have commented that they are miserable. If they are, they have a damn good reason to be, although we had no problems! They were lovely, especially with the kids.
The entertainment was very good. The odd acts e.g. parrot show and snake show, was quite boring, but these were acts that were brought into the hotel. The entertainment that the hotel provided e.g. mini disco were thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and there was also something for the adults with drinking games and music for everyone to join in and dance to.
The pool was also nice. There was no problems getting sunbeds, but you couldnt really find umberellas. You could go down at any time of the day and still manage to get a sunbed, its just the spot that you may have to go down early for. Of course there are broken sunbeds, but you dont have to use these ones cause there are plenty more!
For us the bad points were:
The food was repetitive, some strange combinations available, but we mainly just got sick of sitting in the same place eating 3 times a day. The food at first was not a problem, until we got bored of it. This is obviously due to our own personal preference. Never had a problem with breakfasts. Lunch and dinner was basic, you get what you pay for. There was always salad, pasta, meat, fish, potatoes and plenty of other things if thats what you liked.
Our main bad point was the positioning of our room. As its a very big hotel (900 rooms) being on the sixth floor, made us feel like we were in a block of flats and not part of the hotel. Although this had its good point as it was out of the way of the hustle and bustle. Yes there are lots of steps but we got the lifts, so people who are complaining about there being too many steps, should have used the lifts!
Overall, this really isnt as bad as people are making out. If people are so fussy, then they should be booking 5 star hotels. You get what you pay for.

Me, My Boyriend His Gran + His Cousin...

Aug 2008, Miss E.j Turton

Me, My Boyriend His Gran + His Cousin Visited This Appartment On The 10th August- 17th August. I Must Say After Reading All Of These Reviews We Was Abit Scared. We Arrived + Thought O.m.g Where Have We Come But When We Got In It Was Fantastic. The Weather Was Great Which Was Good. Music On Through The Day + Pool Games Like Water Polo, Inflaitable Slides In To The Water Etc..
If You Are Going With Your Family It Is A Perfect Holiday. Entertainment On A Night Was Great Too Chris The Dj Was Brilliant Always Made Us Laugh. Mini Disco For The Kids + Then A Different Show Every Nite, End Of The Night Was A Big Rave On The Stage(Feed The ****in Pigeons, Ice Cream Cone..) What A Laugh..
Food Was Not Fantastic But Always Something Different Everyday. Pack Lunches For When You Go Out Through The Day. All Of The Waiters Was Bit Rude + Never Spoke Like If You Said Thankyou You Would Not Get Back. Always Food On All Day So You Would Never Get Hungry. Would Definitely Go Back For A Holiday Here But For 2 Weeks This Time. Best Holiday!!

Aug 2008, Miss K O''reilly

Plz read this, i feel a lot of these reviews are over exaggerated! Please Note, u seriously do get what you pay for, so anyone hus goin shud click on to the fact that the hotel is cheap cus its not a 4 star, its a 3!!. I have already wrote a more detailed review on this hotel, but if your lookin for a cheap n cheerful hotel then book it! The food is very simple, it is on a hill, and the motorway bridge can be dangerous, but if that puts you off dnt go there. You dnt have 2 take suitcases up stairs as there are lifts! The entertainment was gr8, staff are fine, and if ur abroad dnt expect NOT to see a cockroach! They scare the hell out of me, but we shud expect them abroad! Don't be put off if you lookin for a basic holiday, we paid £300 all inclusive, definatley worth the money, definatley cheap and cheerful!

Aug 2008, Miss R Kaur

A group of 4 us of aged 40,19,16 and 6 returned today from Caledonia Aparthotel and i was so disgusted with the place that i warn yu all not to book!!
I don't even know where to start- broken sunbeds, broken beds in the room, HORRIABLE HORRIABLE FOOD. It was so horriable that we ended up spending 400 euros in 7 days eating out everyday.
Rooms were not cleaned everyday like a 3 star should be and when staff were asked for extra towels, they were very rude and ended up bringing dirty towels. One maid pushed my little sister aged 6 and they are in no rush to ever serve you!!
Entertanment is the same EVERYNIGHT!!!ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH im sooo angry thinking about the holiday that i'm going to end it here. I work in the hospitality industry and have studied it for 4 years and this was UNACCEPTABLE for a supposed 3 star!!!
