Me (19) and my boyfriend (22) wanted a cheap holiday for the beginning of September and were lucky enough to be offered his parents holiday at a discounted price to Krioprigi, Halkidiki! We wanted somewhere pretty quiet and that’s exactly what we got ...
When we arrived it was 12 midnight ,so there wasn’t alot to see! We decided to venture out after dumping our bags in our room and I was very unimpressed with what we saw! Very little nightlife (1 bar open). I expected it to be quiet but not just one bar still open before the early hours!
We woke up in the morning to be greeted by a nice but basic room, had everything you need. The pool was great and generally the apartments were very nice.
The beach is a fair walk, but it is manageable and good exercise! However if you are lazy there is a free mini bus and also a little train which only costs 1 euro. These are nearly always on time!
The beach itself is very nice! Water is pretty clear and the sand is nice and clean. One thing which is annoying are the wasps but we didn’t get stung once, and didn’t meet any one else who did , they are pretty docile so best to just ignore them!
I would not recommend this resort for the younger generation (16+) and group holidays as it can get a bit boring and not a great deal to do at night!
You must visit Kalethea as they are some really good clubs there, although we only visited one (AH HOY) they all looked really nice, but make sure you take plenty of money with you as we paid 20 euros for 2 drinks!
Hanioti is also a great place although we only spent an evening there is really busy with lots of bars and restaurants and will appeal to the party people!
You can get taxi’s to both of these places which cost between 5 - 8 euros, but check out the bus service and try get a timetable as they are really reliable and only cost 1 euro and seem to run quite late (12pm at the earliest!).
Please pay a visit to the Casablanca bar, we found this to be the most friendliest place in the resort! Music is a bit cheesy! But the staff are really sweet and its a nice holidayish place to go.
We did discover that Halkidiki also seems to be a popular holiday destination for the Greeks and some how I don’t think they are too keen on the British. Quite often we would get dirty looks and bad service in restaurants and bars, although this maybe due to us being young and associating us with the going ons in places such as Kavos (people getting naked in the streets...)say no more!
Overall we did have a good holiday but given the choice would have much preferred to stay in Hanioti or Kalethea as it has much more to it! But if you just want a nice relaxing holiday then this is a great place for it!

My daughter and me stayed at Skentos for a week, we found our room very basic but it was clean and we had a great view from our balcony. I was a little nervous about going on this holiday being just me and my daughter but we were made to feel very welcome by the family that run Skentos and also our Olympic rep Massimo he told us the best places to visit , we went on a great boat cruise which we both enjoyed , I would recommend Skentos and Halkadiki to anyone that wants a relaxing holiday .

Last year my husband and I went to Kriopigi in Halkadiki I can only say BASIC is the under statement I have never stayed in such a place.
No air conditioning you could hire a fan if you wanted the kitchen was very basic, although we like self catering we like to try different restraunts, but we do like to cook our own breakfast it just was not up to the mark.
I would never recommend the Skentos Studios to anyone.

Skentos studio not very clean, kitchen equipment less than basic, owners/staff seem more interested in setting some sort of cigarette smoking record than looking after guests (but then again it is the Greek national hobby).
Found the beach, and the wasps, hardly worth the effort, its along steep track. Kriopigi is just not geared up for tourists, in fact to be honest its a dump. Busses are a joke. Resorts north and south of here look more up market. Not all bad though especially if you want quiet and excellent food and service at Athenas restaurant (up the red steps)
