This property is better than the two and a half flames Olympic has awarded it, it has plenty of space and good facilities, however the best and outstanding feature of this place is its staff who are so dedicated to make you feel welcome, the success of you holiday really is important to them.
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, regularly cleaned and there is a good supply of towels. the resort has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. We will definitely return ASAP Stalis is good for both young and older folk however if you want loud, busy nightlife, pub crawls and people who will put up with the problems that can occur as a result just because there's money in it, don’t go there, because they the don't and won't , anyway I suggested 8 out of a possible 10 as I feel the apartments and us holidaymakers would benefit from a larger shower room and guest leaving facilities

I have just returned from Stalis having spent a wonderful week there with my daughter and her 2 young children aged 6 and 23months. We had a room with a sea view which we were not expecting and a very quiet location. I think Andreas is fabulous, he would do anything for anyone and I would certainly go back in the near future.
We also found Star beach which is a FREE water park, ideal for children. All you pay is 3euros for a sunbed and you can stay all day. I agree with all comments about quad bikes and mopeds some of the riders went far too fast and did not take account of any children on the road. The children also liked the 'Happy train' but i am sure the trip was much less than 1 hour.

The overall holiday was brilliant, Andréa’s - the hotel manager was brilliant, he got everyone around the pool playing games and enjoying themselves.
The hotel was really clean the apartment was lovely. The weather was great and the atmosphere around the whole island was really friendly.

WOW, what a fantastic holiday. Andreas is a superstar! and Costas was a fantastic handyman (Bob the Builder) and barman. We had a fantastic sea view with 2 balconies, the apartment was spacious and clean. If you do not want to walk to the beautiful sandy beach in the resort centre then have a fun or relaxing day by the pool. Andreas provides lots of entertainment for the parents and children, lilo racing and ball and spoon races in the pool ... and loads more.
There is a wide variety of food to choose from in the restaurant, something for everyone. My daughter quite often felt like beans on toast ... and it was on the menu. We had savlaki (probably spelt wrong), mousaka, it was all tasty and scrummy. Costas was a star when it came to making cocktails, he puts in all the extras to make each one special, sparklers, umbrellas etc! Each morning the pool area was thoroughly cleaned, the staff worked so hard - and you can tell, it was all so clean.
We walked to Star Beach, it took us roughly 25 minutes (with a 10 and 7 year old!), they had a great time. It also took approx. 20 minutes to get to the beautiful beach of Stalis (this is a slow stroll with 2 children in hot weather, you could probably get there in 10. Taxis are really cheap, the guy on reception (never did get his name!) would arrange a taxi for us any time, usually costing approx. 5 euros to get us to/from the centre of Stalis. There are so many restaurants to choose from (Baywatch was great!).
If you are tired after a day at the beach or just tired from the heat ... stay at the Stelios in the evening. Bingo, (Andreas is sooooo funny with his accent and sayings), quiz nights, karaoke (I just enjoyed watching), Greek evening ... need I go on! The children had a great holiday, we did too, the resort, the accommodation, Andreas, the weather ... it was great mate! Only one down side was having to leave the accommodation by 10:30 am and we were not collected until 3:00am the following morning!
We booked these awful flights BUT thought we may be able to keep the room for longer or at least have the use of a courtesy room, but no. There is one shower by the pool toilets (which are downstairs from the pool area) with no room to get dressed in, we had to get dried and dressed in a corridor ... not much fun! Don’t let that put you off though, it was a fantastic holiday, which we will never forget thanks to Andreas.
We are in the process of trying to book for 3 weeks next year but don’t seem to be able to get day flights for that duration! Hope to see you in 2006 Andreas and all the staff at the Stelios Stalis Apartments PARADISE!!!!

Omg! One of the best holidays I have ever been on -
Andreas is the most amazing guy and he’s coming to visit us soon!
Karaoke is so hilarious it made me laugh until I quite literally exploded
We booked it expecting a 2 star hell hole and ended up with quite literally - paradise
Room 103 is amazing - book it, it is fab
Costa’s the barman and the other dude (don’t know his name) are just wicked at woolly bully!
Word of warning - never use Sarpidon travel they ripped us out of 81 euros (very, very long story) but you must use slalom water sports (the first water sports tours as you get on to the beach from Stelios) the lady there showed us such kindness on our last day when we realised we had been conned out of a boat trip, rang the owner of el Greco boats and took us out in a speedboat to meet this boat free of charge! Also use Maria golden beach restaurant - it is always full ,the food is lush (especially the Bolognese) and you can smash plates - what else do you want. The owner is so funny with his dialect he says things like “luvly jubly” and “bloody norah”
Bing with Andrea’s is just the best - I’ve seen many others have commented about “68 mate” but he has a rather strange way of doing it aswell!
All in all it was one of the best holidays I have ever had, although the courtesy services have to be sorted out (evicted at 12, flight a 5in the following morning, 1 tiny shower in a little corridor with no privacy or anywhere to get changed) and our cleaner must have been the lazy cleaner because everyone else said theirs was good and ours was just, well, horrendous.
You must book straight away it is just amazing!

We came back from Stelios Apartments and have already booked to go back next year with "The Ledgers" a fab family we met while we were there.
Andreas is the best hotel manager ever we loved his rendition of bingo "68 mate!" and his singing on the karaoke and Harris and Costas version of "Wolly Bully" which was fab!
The apartments were spotless and cleaned every other day you have to pay for air conditioning but it is really worth it.
The staff were really friendly and always happy to help.
We recommend Koralis as one of the best restaurants and which was really cheap.
One word of advice do not book anything with the rep as they overcharge it is much cheaper to book in Stalis ( waterpark highly recommended)
We saved 40 euros booking this way!
See you next year Andreas and Nikos who is a fab waiter and handyman

We arrived at the hotel 08.30am so we were all tired and just wanted to go to our room and sleep for a bit.
We received a warm welcome and left alone to do our own thing for a couple of hours and that in its self was bliss - at around 10.30am we drifted down stairs to a welcome by Andreas ( hotel Manager ) and Kate (Olympic rep) the welcome lasted about 30 mins and I'd recommend it - even if just to get an overview of what’s on offer.
Sound advice given by both Kate and Andreas ref the motor bikes and quads - don’t hire them !! - We felt that the amount of quads/scooters buzzing about everywhere put a slight dampener on the hols.
If the authorities could close down the main shopping street in Stalis to pedestrians only you would feel much safer - The owners of the restaurants / Tavernas in Stalis are constantly canvassing for your custom and this can sometimes get on your nerves but don't let that put you off -after all they need to make a living as well - the grub is fantastic as is the service - although some prices do differ.
Try the Roma on the sea front - cheap and cheerful with a beautiful back drop looking out to sea - "38 Euro for three of us" - which included starter - main course - sweet & drinks - Not bad ah !! - Stalis in its self is between Hersonissos and Malia.
Hersonissos is great for shopping - you will find a "Everything for 1.50 euro shop" a bit like pound stretcher really- Ideal if your looking for little mementos to take back to the family/friends - and the night life has a mix for all age’s - Malia is completely different - If you are between 18-30 go for it and have the time of your life !! - anyone above that age and with children steer clear - It's mad !!
We took our 13 year old daughter with us for the first time without a friend so we were a little bit worried on entertainer her - we all know what it's like trying to keep a teenager happy - Don’t even worry yourselves about that - back at the apartments - Andreas ensures that there is always something going on - from pool games on the afternoon to quiz nights - Greek night (a must just for the experience of the Greek culture).
Karaoke ( even I got up for this) - magic show & Bingo - The Bingo I can only explain as "different"- try and remember " the Scottish man squeezing a fat lady" 68 mate!! -you have to try it to believe it - Great fun and a good belly laugh at other’s trying to work out the cryptic clues for the numbers being called.
The apartments are very clean as is the resort - beds are changed every two to three days and you have a choice for air con - the air con will cost you 78 euros for two weeks and we thought that it was money well spent.
Water Sports !! As a diver I would not recommend it - ! I completed three dives (42 euros a dive) and hoped that the next dive would always be better - to say it was boring is an understatement - but this is through the eyes of a wreck diver - if you want to just get wet and look at rocks and sea grass then try it.
Go to a place called Nana Beach they will provide all the kit plus rib - no hard boats!! - fly fishing will cost you between 15 & 20euros - Jet Skis around 30-35 euros and Para Gliding 50euros - You might think "A bit expensive" but just do it - Your on holiday !! - All in all a fantastic and friendly place - we are going back next year with a lovely family called the "Taher's" that we met whilst out there...............

We stayed here at the Stellios / Stallis apartments between 26th july-9th august 2005 we had a very enjoyable holiday and would definitely go back there again.
What can I say Andreos was brill he couldn’t do enough for us he was very pleasant and very funny this guy, I don’t think ever sleeps. He’s there all the time doing pool games in the afternoon to the entertainment at night, bingo now that’s something else its so funny trying to work out the numbers with the duck and a walking stick I think was 21 to the duck squeezing a fat lady!!! The staff Nikos, Harris and Kostas were very nice as well also the two ladies who done the bar during the day.
The apartments were very clean and spacious with everything you need for self catering the cleaners came in almost every day. All in all we had a brilliant holiday the only complaint I have is the amount of quad bikes and scooters there every where you spend most of your time when walking to town (which is about 20 min walk) dogging them.
But we did have a great time and met some lovely people there Amy and Janet (love is in the air!!). Karen and Michelle and the kids Jake and Ethan Alan and Adele, John and Joel.
Thank you Andreos and the gang for your hospitality during our stay.
From Ritchie and Pat.

I went to these apartments between the 19th of July and the 2nd of August with 6 lads, and we had a really good time. The rooms themselves are good sized, and kept clean by the maids. The bar staff, cleaners and the manager Andreas are very friendly and do all they can to help you enjoy your stay. If you're going with kids Andreas will make sure they are entertained all through the day, as he loves his pool and bar games. You feel made welcome here and the excellent security guard "Gorgeous" George is a top man as well, (even paid for my taxi back from Malia one night when I'd spent my last cash on kebabs, Cheers George!) and all this makes you feel safe, secure and at home in the apartments. The food and drink are reasonably priced but you’ll get a better meal in Malia or down in Stalis for the same price, but this is the point of a self catering holiday isn’t it. Stelios Stalis should be an ideal family holiday resort but the "young same sex group nightmares", as some would say, keep getting fobbed off (as were we) that the complex is a 5 minute walk to Malia, it isn’t. It will cost a minimum of 8 euro in a taxi, and as we found out on our last night, it's an hours walk. So if you want Malia book Malia, not Stalis. All in all we had a brilliant time and although some of us felt a bit guilty about the bit of noise late at night and some dodgy behaviour in the day, we’ve all come abroad to enjoy ourselves. So don’t be surprised if there is a mix of families and 18-22 year old groups. The staff adapt very well to the situation and don’t tolerate fighting, shouting, all that crap that someone said in an earlier review. The weather’s good the hotel’s a laugh and depending on what you want the location is good (family) or not to good (If you want Malia every night). You’d be hard pushed to beat it for the money. James Millward (Mills) Rooms 207 & 208, 19th Jul 2005.

Arrived at the apartments to met by the manager (Andreas) who throughout the holiday could not do enough for you.
Within two days Andreas new all our names, he encouraged children and adults (only if they wanted to) to play the poolside / pool games. All staff were very good, the food on site was very good and very well priced. Whilst there for two weeks we had NO problems and you were aware if you did it would be sorted very quickly. This was our first holiday (package) abroad with the kids (12 & 10,) and they cannot wait to go back. Both kids met loads of friends throughout the two week stay. All in all a superb holiday, two weeks of relaxing fun.
A big thank you to Andreas and all his staff from Gordon, Jennifer, Laura & Heather

Apartments were very clean we had a lovely view of the sea from our balcony. Staff were very friendly and the entertainment was very good.
The beach was only about a 15 min walk, and was the best beach compared to Malia and Hersonissos.
I would definitely say the apartments deserve a higher rating than 2 star.
It was a little loud most nights as our room was situated under the bar but it wasn’t too bad.
The only bad thing I have to say about the holiday was that we paid Olympic holidays for a 14 night stay but only had our room for 13 nights.
I would definitely recommend these apartments.
I would go back but at a different time of year as it was very very hot! But there was loads of stuff to do loads of watersports you have to go on the jeep safari it was the best day of the holiday! and Dia Island was lovely (like being somewhere tropical)
But whoever has booked already you will have the best time ever! (try Lancelot's for your evening meal too staff are lovely and food is great especially the mushrooms a la creme)
Have a good time everyone!

Fantastic as Andreas the manager would and most probably still does say.
My apologies for not adding this sooner but you know how bits of paper and business cards go astray.
Anyway my wife and I and my 2 sons went last Aug/Sept for 2 weeks and had a brilliant time. For what we paid it was well above expectations. The apartments were fairly basic but clean and let's face it, you're on holiday how much time are you going to spend in an apartment. Nice wee balconies if you fancied a nightcap.
The onsite entertainment was something else. Not normally my sort of thing but I've been converted. It's the sort of place that the more you put in the more you'll get out of it. I'd say the majority of people there were in the same boat as us, families, and what a really nice bunch of people they enough were (even the Welsh ones! only joking Jodie). Karaoke, bingo, quiz etc all a good laugh especially if a lot of people get involved.
Good idea to hire a car for a couple of days and explore the island. The quad bikes initially look like good fun but in reality they've got death trap written all over them and I imagine if you're 16 you're not really going to not have a half shandy and call it a day, never mind 18!(very Dad sort of thing to say).
The staff are brilliant and will pretty much go out of their way to help you out, give you advice and whatever. Would I go again? Yes I most probably would actually but I'm a bit of a been there ,done that, sort of guy and with a 9 and 11 year old you want to sample different cultures and places with them before they have no interest in traveling with you anymore. I would recommend it though. It's kind of in between two resorts which are both in walking distance. I'd say Stalis is the nicer and a bit nearer, 15 minute stroll, ok beach (again, hire a car and find some brilliant beaches), lots of restaurants, some not bad and others pretty ****.
Don't think the apartments are where you'd want to stay if you were say under 25 with a bunch of mates, not in the centre of things like further along in Malia.
The only reason I've only marked it 9/10 is not down to the accommodation or staff but to the timing of checking out and flights. Come on Olympic. It’s a nightmare. I've traveled quite a lot personally and on business and this has got to be one of the worst set - ups ever. My heart really goes out to people with young kids.
The hanging around all day carry-on and then be picked up in the middle of the night and taken to an airport where the world and his wife are waiting is not pleasant. I'd have paid up to avoid those travel times.
Right that's the moany bit over. Quality time to be had and go soon before Andreas and his staff are snapped up by another savvy operator. This guy has got talent, languages and boundless energy. Up his dosh Olympic .
