" You get what you pay for "
Submitted By: EvsuttonIt was a large 2 bedrooms apartment overlooking the small pool, its tried, well used, broken tiles on the floor, door handles missing, broken fridge door, they now have a card system in to get into the rooms so no inside door locks, (we wedged a chair under the handle) employees who have lost interest and have seen it all before, It needs a make over, but its cheap. It's managed by the the Hotel block next door so you go to the reception there to book in and any problems you have. There is a bar/restaurant both of which we didn't use plus a small shop this is handy for milk/bread etc. We only had the one problem when a t-shirt went missing but it was returned within the hour. You also get a key for the safe 25 euros which you get 10 back when to give the key in. YOU MUST HAVE A SAFE PUT EVERYTHING IN WATCHES MONEY PASSPORTS PHONE ETC. they dont want to know if anything is missing and you don't have one. The beds where changed in the week once.
There is security in the complex but they seem to be used as bell boys rather than looking around, showing people to there rooms and standing around the reception. Over all we had a good hoilday the weather was great the sea front is looking really good and we weren't in the apartment much. The bars/restaurant shops are all within easy walking distant although at this time (feb 2009) the euro against the pound was 1.05 The price of dinning has gone up aleast 25% this plus 5% tax which now appears on the end of your bill makes dinning out a bit pricey.
A short and mixer the most we paid 5 euros and the least was 2 euros, an average meal 8/15 euros, sandwiches 4/7 euros. The markets are on sat/sun/thurs although they are all the same stalls with the same people.
Advice: go to Leonardo's two men singers there very good

Submitted By: corkeyi found rebecca apartments through lowcostbeds.com (which i recommend!) it looked just like what we wanted; cheap, simple, easy to get to clubs/beach/shops/airport and its reveiws weren't all that bad.
when we arrived in tenerife airport the taxi rank was right outside and we were able to get a taxi really quickly, which was great! only problem was that the taxi driver had never heard of the place or the street and had to ask quite a few other drivers before we finally got there! the fare was pretty cheap (though it was split between 5 of us) but totally worth taking a taxi with the load of luggage us girls had :)
we were checked in and given directions to our room straight away. The apartment was SO much better than we had planned..it was clean, spacious, airy, and had the best roof sun terrace!! we were pool side, upstairs in one of the little blocks by the smaller pool of the two there (which we only discovered 5 days into our holiday!)
the pools were great and we never had trouble getting sun loungers (except sometimes at the bigger pool which was obviously more busy)
the complex is in PERFECT location to the beach(5 min walk), main strip of bars, restaurants and shops (all at top of the road). handy little supermarket at the top of the road too, and a bigger one a little further down towards the beach. the beach was gorgeous, the clubs were good and the restaurants ok. there is an english restaurant/cafe on the strip which we went alot..really nice staff and food was great, well priced, and make a great brew too!
though we had a great time there, we did have some problems;
-there is alot of noise from other 18-30 yr olds (which make up alot of the holidaymakers there!) all through the night, but the staff are pretty good at issuing warnings to those who are too noisey!
-there is no air con, so u have to leave windows open at night, which means mosquitos can get in!
-you will get bothered by LOTS of club reps when u go on the main club strip, but u can get really good deals on drinks at some clubs (and when u find one u like u'l carry on going back anyway!)
main issue was that we didn't think to hire a safe when we got there, and consequently we had 2 new digital cameras, a mobile and quite a bit of money stolen from our apartment, which we deduced was by the maids as there was no break in and the maids were the only ones with access to our rooms!! so HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIRING A SAFE!! its only like 20 eorus for 7 days to hire one!
all in all, we generally had the break away we needed and tenerife is gorgeous!
recommmend visiting los gigantes, aqua water park and the monkey zoo :)

Submitted By: Mr T Woganhaving checked in we eventually found our accommadation which had two twin bedrooms, a kitchen/dining area/lounge and bathroom. the best part of the apartment was a huge roof terrace accessed by stairs within.
ok, so our door had a penis drawn on it, the decor was oldish and the shower head fell off everytime you turned the shower off, but harmless issues like this caused no upset. /although i'm sure many a person would have written to holidays from hell/.
so as far as the accommadation was concerned it was more than you could hope for.
it's location to the 'night life' couldn't be better, only five minutes walk if that. the beach is a minute or two longer, although the beaches are embarrassing. restaurants are less than two minutes walk and there's a supermarket on site, internet and bar/cafe.
the rebecca apartments are part of a hotel complex which boasts three pools including the rebecca pool. my mates and i stayed at the rebecca pool, shown in pictures. it was quiet and only seemed to attract unattractive girls, which was disappointing. few tiles are missing in the pool, the loungers can be dirty and there was minor building work taking place within sight and hearing. not too traumatic though. the pool is a huge suntrap and you can get the sun all day.
the other two pools appeared busier but slightly 'chavtastic', as the hotel is mainly made up with 18-30 groups.
in conclusion the accommadation is cheap and to an acceptable standard. the staff i found to be tolerable, although one english reception bloke was a complete 'tosser'.
previous reviews give this place a hard time, but genuinly it's not that bad. we left our door open and wern't broken into. there were no steaming turds floating in the pool and i was never mugged, despite walking home alone. you shouldn't walk home alone by the way! ...or leave your door open!
it would appear that this place is designed for the younger generation, although saying that there were a number of middle aged people around our pool, of course! they seemed pretty happy.
not suitable for families, as some chav will cause upset.
there is a safe in each room and it costs 25euros to get the key, although you get 15euros back. fans cost too but not sure of the rental cost. there is no air con so they're a must really.
the internet is 1euro for ten minutes. the tv is 1euro for ten minutes which has sky sports and it costs 8euros for an extra key card for the room.
it cost 280pounds each through jet2.com, staying in room 26, described above. flew out 09th september and returned 16th. weather was cloudy but hot first three days, but after that it was 30's with clear blue skys.
when you go on holiday, try not to worry about pointless things like; what colour the towel rail is, how many towels are refreshed a week, how many light bulbs are out, why is there a crack in a glass, who drew a 'cock' on the front door and why aren't there any hot girls at the pool... and you'll have a great time.
in my opinion, you should fill your boots and book up. how bad can it really be!
questions welcome.

Submitted By: Miss S RussellThe hotel turned out to be a 18-30, not a suitable atmosphere for children. It meant the pool was deeper than usual and was too deep for the children to swim. There wasn't a proper restaurant, just a cafeteria which inside was disgusting. Very unhygienic, especially in a place where food was made. The people making the food were not wearing hair nets and their hands were dirty. There were not many other restaurants or shops about like description say. There was a chinese restaurant where the food was considerably good. A long wait for a table though. There was one mini market with very expensive prices. It turned out to be about £3 for a carton of milk!
We were not introduced to a rep so we had to go looking for one. we found a guy who was very helpful. he understood we were miss sold this holiday and he managed to get us transferred. he transferred us to a 4* hotel and we were VERY impressed. It was called Ocean Palace (now Ocean Resort) and it was the best hotel we ever stayed in. This was our first time travelling with first choice and we were very out off by the Rebecca Aparrtments and decided not to use them again but once we'd seen Ocean Palace we changed our minds.
If you booked a place at this hotel and are reading this review and are very nervous tae my advice, cancel if you can!

I am a 29-year-old woman, and went with my 23-year-old sister and our friend. On arrival we was invited to lug our cases up 2 flights of stairs as security refused us the use of the lift, after complaining we was given a room on the first floor.
When booking the holiday, air conditioning was a priority, so on entering the room we was annoyed to find no air con unit. The room itself was spacey and tidy – could have been cleaner, i.e soap stains in the bathroom, clumps of hair on the floor, dirty shower curtains.
We quickly learnt that the apartments were almost full of Free Style guests (for those unsure what this means, guests aged between 17 and 20 who seemingly go away to cause as much havoc as possible).
Every night was the same, from late evening to 7am we heard nothing but screaming ‘guests’ running up and down the corridors, shouting, throwing plates / cups from balconies, urinating in corridors, banging on other guests doors and hurling objects from 1 balcony to another.
After asking the culprits politely to please keep the noise down at 04.30 and being meet with a barrage of verbal abuse we sought assistance form security based at the hotel – who don’t speak a word of English and who failed to keep the behaviour of the perpetrators under control. We used this course of actions on 3 occasions!
After the 3rd night we were informed by 6 respectable 20-year-old men – who was also disgusted and horrified by he behaviour of other guest being displayed, that the police had been called one night to assist security.
I would also like to inform you of the filth found IN the pool as well as round it, for example vomit and flem found IN the pool by ourselves; cups, used plates, cartons etc round the pool which was left there for days!
Maid service was in the form of a lady appearing 1 day during our 7 night stay to change the towels!
Finally, I would like to advise potential guest and those that have already booked, to be very aware of the location as the reps failed to inform us and other guests. On approach to the main strip you turn a corner that is known to locals (including reps) as Muggers Alley – need I say more?? We was VERY lucky compared to other people we spoke to during our visit who had been mugged and some of which was threatened with weapons!
The advert says it is for young guests, I obviously put myself in that category being only 29 not realising it meant for 18 year olds with lack of respect for others.
I felt intimidated and violated through out the duration of my stay.
Accommodation and location not recommended to any respectable adult looking for a relaxing stay with harmless entertainment and nightlife of an evening.

Submitted By: Miss K ThornboroughIn the small pool my kids and partner were enjoying having it to themselves when all of a sudden a gang of lads decided to JUMP into the pool landing on my 11 yr old son. As you can imagine he was very distraught.. Someone defecated in the pool and we found blood on the walls. They even had to switch OFF the electric at 6am to stop them playing LOUD music... It was a nightmare believe me...
We then complained again and were moved for a 3rd time into the main part of the hotel which was in Las Piramedes and got two seperate studios, meaning I was sharing with my daughter and my partner was sharing with my son. Their room had cockroaches in it also. The last straw to this holiday was the litter around the pool and to top it off we found out we were in a 18-30 hotel, which FIRST CHOICE had failed to tell us. We did wonder why there was no entertainment!!! No wonder we overspent on our budget to keep the kids happy.
There were two good things about this holiday, Loro Parque (amazing) and the water park. I will be going back to Tenerife in 2008 but DEFINITELY not with First Choice or to that hotel... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
p.s. First Choice offered us £75 for our awful holiday..... I said NO!!

Submitted By: funkycrime29The hotel itself is in a good position near Veronicas - the main strip of clubs and bars. They serve reasonably priced food at a bar which is open all day. The pool is quite small but still nice, and the apartments themselves are quite big with a small kitchen and balcony.
The problem that we had, and that a lot of people in other rooms shared, was with the hotel staff. If the patrolling security guards caught you outside your room after about midnight they would escort you back to your room, take down the number and in quite a few cases give eviction warnings the next morning. We were getting warnings for things that happened when we weren't even there. It got to the stage where we were scared to leave our rooms at night in case we got caught and got kicked out, in which case we were informed that our return flights would be nullified! We brought the whole matter up with Airtours on our return and they are currently looking into it.
In short, the whole resort is too noisy for family holidays, whilst Rebecca Apartments is far too strict to allow younger people to have any fun. My advice: find somewhere else to stay.
