Corfu is such a magical destination. Beautiful beaches, really friendly people, and an excellent choice of restaurants in all the resorts we visited.
We shan't, however, travel with Villa Plus ever again. And we shall in future always take our own bed covers. Because we were bitten to pieces - while over in Corfu we didn't think of complaining because we assumed it was just the mosquitos, but on returning to the UK and requiring medical treatment, we were told we'd been bitten by bed bugs!! Yuk!
So I wrote to Villa Plus who apparently "investigated" and concluded that, because we hadn't complained while we were out there, and because we could not prove our claim, so there was nothing Villa Plus intended to do about it. Not good practice when this holiday accommodation was supposedly of a high standard and we paid a high price for it.
I have to add, however, that the villa itself (minus the unpaying guests!) was very quaint, and the wildlife in the lovely sloping garden was fantastic - fairly large snakes and lime green lizards slithered and sauntered around every day!
The swimming pool had a slight disadvantage being under two enormous fir trees, so that after one very windy night the pool was covered in bits from the tree. It was cleaned the next day though.
The bites did spoil the holiday for us, as did the attitude of the Villa Plus company, but Corfu was beautiful.
