In my opinion it not should not be classed as a platinum hotel. Sunbeds very close together ,no parasols had to rely on palm trees for shade. Pool towels seen better days 1 per person per stay and charged to be changed. Bedrooms basic and poor lighting. Restaurant food o.k. But gets busy and noisy and very hot and stuffy. No waiter service around the pool.3/4*service but not up to standard of previous platinum hotels visited. First impression is stunning but downhill from then on.

The mock beach poolside seemed a great attraction and was one of the reasons for us choosing this hotel, but it was actually coarse grit not sand and not very kind to the feet! Tiny sun umbrellas offered very little shade and loungers were far too close together. The pool chopped into small portions was rather restricting too. Natural shade under the trees didn’t let any sun through at all and that was the only area free unless you reserved your place in the early hours!
We did not appreciate having to queue for meals or the very limited choice of main course and vegetables, though salads were good and breakfast menus offered a wide choice. Staff were unfriendly and slow to clear tables.
We were a forty minute walk from the local beach and when we got there were told it is hardly ever safe enough to bathe because of the strong currents.
Entertainments were poor. If you spent more than one evening in the piano bar you were treated to the same medleys each time...rather dated music at that especially if you are not an Elvis fan!
Two days of rain and the rest of the week dull and cloudy with only brief episodes of sunshine made for a dreary week for us and overall a very disappointing holiday.

Although having a grand appearance and large tropical themed pool area, the Maspalomas princess lacked any of the service quality of a 4* (Thomson 5*) hotel.
The picturesque pool area consisted of 4 separate pools not one large interconnected pool as the pictures depict. Although many sunbeds were available there were no umbrellas, and many people with small children found themselves sitting as close to plant boarders as possible to gain what little shade was there.
The night time entertainment due to it having to be aimed at an international audience became boring and tiresome as night after night of similar dance routines were performed.
The fact that the hotel was situated away from the main resorts meant that taxi’s had to be caught to get anywhere.
Having worked in a 4* hotel myself, I know first hand the standards of service and food that should be expected from such a hotel standard. The food at the Maspalomas was bland and for main courses (especially if vegetarian) was limited. Waiters & Waitresses were not talkative and sometimes rude. We were taken to the tables in a long line of people, to tables not set for the correct amount of people. Tables around the restaurant were left un-cleared of dirty plates and guests would return to their table with second courses to be greeted by their old plates still there. guests had to move these plates themselves on to surrounding un-cleared and unoccupied tables. food that was dropped on the floor around tables was often left there for long periods.
Maids who assumed it to be tips took money left on bedside tables.
Over all I would say the Maspalomas princess is a 4* hotel with 2/3*service and I have found Thomson 4* gold choice hotel’s to be much more enjoyable.

Just returned from what can only say was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The Maspalomas Princess Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff warm and friendly, food exceptional in fact too much choice. The nightly entertainment was very professional with a different visiting show every night and the house band. The pool areas are wonderful no worries about finding a sun bed as there are thousands. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, in fact I have already booked to return next year.

Our holiday in the Maspalomas Hotel was fantastic. You won't find a better hotel than this one. A modern hotel, 5 pools, a wide variety of food and great service. We have visited this hotel twice and we hope to go back next year as we know we are guaranteed lovely weather and overall a great holiday. I am only 15 years old, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone of any age. The entertainment is brilliant- 2 acts each night. We found the piano bar a great place to relax and listen to the very talented Pianist Jose Maria. Overall a holiday to remember!

Well, what can I say? The pools were fantastic, the entertainment brilliant, food very tasty, rooms were clean, tidy and secure. The staffs were very friendly, one of the bar staff in the piano bar remembered my favourite drink so I didn’t even have to ask!
The hotel reception is amazing, you will have to ask yourself if you have arrived in the correct hotel! There was a cash point and 3 computers that were linked to the Internet so I didn’t even have to send postcards and chatted to my friends and bragged about the weather
I’m due to go there again in a few months and I can’t wait. I booked it the week that I came back!!
This is a hotel for families, couples and even for people (like me) who jets off on their own.

We have just returned from the Maspalomas Princess. The hotel was spotless and rooms were cleaned every day. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There was an abundance of sunbeds both in the sun and in the shade. I was impressed with the beach area which is cleaned thoroughly. I learned that the gritty like sand is easier to walk on without your shoes!
There are also plenty of Coco loco bars to get refreshments or snacks if required. The food was excellent and there was a wide range to satisfy all tastes. The dining staff were helpful. It is better to get to the dining room early as it does get rather hot. The swimming pool was clean and I have to say a pleasure to cool down in. The beach is a short taxi-ride away if you are lazy on holiday like me and it did not even cost 3 euros!
There was a choice of entertainment and lots of quiet areas around the hotel to sit and have peace if required. This is the first time that my husband has not gone fishing which says a lot about this hotel. A nice surprise was the birthday champagne and letter from the hotel for him.
We are definitely going to return and I would recommend this hotel to others.
