This was our third all inclusive holiday with Thompson and towards the end of it we were counting the days to our return home. We arrived on the first day at lunchtime, and because we were all starving we went to the restaurant for lunch. After walking around looking at the food I thought there was not much variety and it was a bit of a mish mash. (if there is such a word). I expected the food to improve. It didn't. The food consisted of burgers and chips every day in the snack bar or a fridge with the most unappetizing salad you could wish to see. The fruit in the snack bar fridge was rotten and not replaced for 2 days. It was not worth going to the restaurant at lunch time as there was only a small counter open which consisted of items such as packet mashed potatoe and battered brocolli. The evening meal was no better unless you like calfs liver, fish, pasta and chips. We lived on chips and bread rolls when we dined at the hotel, but as we were staying for 11 days, we ended up going out for alot of our meals. We ended up spending £1000 which we don't normally do when away all inclusive. The waitresses were extremely rude, leaning over us to retreive items off the table whilst you were still eating. They never spoke a word to us.
Entertainment was rubbish, and the bar staff were clearing away around you from around 23.25pm.
The rooms were very small, but at least they were clean.
If you decide to go on any trips, the pirate one is good though expensive. It cost us £300 for 2 adults 2 kids and souvenirs. Don't bother buying the DVD of the show as its rubbish.
If you are booked to go to this hotel, my advice is to take some spare cash as a precaution. If this hotel puts you off going all inclusive again, don't let it as the facilities and food on our previous hols were far superior to this and they were only 3 star. This hotel is only worthy of 1 star.

Having just returned from our holiday in alcudia i thought i would write a review of the Hotel Continental Park. We booked this holiday as a superfamily holiday and were very dissapointed to find out the hotel was no longer a superfamily hotel. As it turned out this was just the start of our troubles here. Lets start with the food, if you enjoy motorway cafe grub for every meal repeated every 3 days you will like the food here. Like many other familys we decided to eat out for every meal after about day 4. Myself and my wife and 6 yr old daughter are not fussy eaters at all,but this food is nowhere near up to any standard you would expect from a 1 star hotel let alone a 3 star plus hotel!!!
Then there is the entertainment. Now dont get me wrong the Thomson kids club was great and my little girl really enjoyed the fun with smily kylie and co they were brilliant. As were stuart and esme the other two entertainers they really tried their best with what they had which at times was not much!! My real issue with the entertainment was it felt like groundhog day every night the evening would go like this:
8.30pm- Mini Disco
9.15pm- Bingo (EVERY NIGHT!!)
9.45pm- Present Diplomas
10.00pm- Show
This was every night there was no variation at all, the acts we saw were mostly bad but there was one magician who was really really good. Even then tho the act is finished for 10.45 latest and then that is it!!!!. You can drink and talk till 11.45 then the waiters would pack the chairs up around you!!! Making you go to your room pretty much. Come 12.15am all exterior lights on the hotel are turned off and its bedtime because the bar is shut you cant get a drink or socialise anywhere in the hotel... and this is a holiday!!??
The rooms are small but kept spotlessly clean by the very efficient maids the balcony was very high to see over and you couldnt if you sat on the chair provided. All in all the hotel looked tired and could do with a re vamp like the superfamily umbrellas outside that had superfamily covered over with gaffer tape!! But it was like i said clean.
There were good things too about the hotel:
1) its close to a big beautiful beach and resort one of the finest i have ever seen.Very good for kids shallow water and great sand.
2) There are lots of restaurants to eat in nearby!!!
3) The kids club is great
apart from that tho this hotel lacks in every area and is just not good enough to warrant spending in the region of £2000 to stay there....... very dissapointing.

This really has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. I shall start by saying that the rooms are meant to be for two people, they were never intended for a bunk-bed to make it a 4 bedroom apartment, the room was so small that you cant open the wardrobe doors, the air conditioning broke down while we we staying, a visit to the reception asking for a fan was refused! We felt abandoned by Thomson, the rep wasn't interested in any complaints we made, indeed the only thing she was interested in was selling us was very expensive excursion's, even then she got the times of the coaches picking us up all wrong. Entertainment, don't make me laugh ( I wish ) was non-existent, anything that was cheap for the hotel to put on was used Karaoke a reptile show that main function was to have your picture taken with the snakes for 10 euros a throw, when the "entertainment" finished the waiters played a game of who can be the quickest and make the most noise stacking the tables and chairs, if you moved your table and drink was gone (they should've used the waiters as a magic show) lights off all in bed by 22:30!! The food was barely palatable, as someone has already posted, chips for the kid's for breakfast, bizzarely enough battered brocoli & cauliflower was on the menu!! a few guests refused to eat anything.
I just hope everyone we spoke too post their thoughts here, really was the worse two weeks holiday I have had, I will never use Thomson again!!

When I first arrived at the Continental Park, I must admit to being just slightly disappointed as this hotel was not as nice as my previous hotel. However, this only lasted one night. Overall, myself and my family (daughters age 6 and 4) had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean, well-run, friendly staff, and in a good location (5 mins slow walk to beach). The beach, by the way, was absolutely fabulous and perfect for small children as it was shallow and quite a calm sea.
I have no idea why there are grumbles about the food. There was such a variety at every meal that surely there was something for everybody??? Anyone who said they had to go out to eat must be really fussy eaters, that's all I can say. It's classic spanish cuisine - what you'd get at most spanish hotels. You could choose from salads or hot food of different kinds. There were vegetables at every meal (not just deep-fried). You don't have to have chips for breakfast if you don't want to you know!!!! Yes you could have sandwiches, fruit, burgers, chips and hot dogs at the poolside if you can't be bothered to get dressed and go to lunch in the dining hall. I wish people would not write reviews about how bad the food was because it was not bad at all. It was very nice indeed. Wine, beer, fizzy drinks, slush puppies, ice-cream, were all on tap.
It is true that the rooms are small. There is a double bed and bunkbeds in most. The top bunk is very high up and although you get bed guards, my 6 year old was still too scared to sleep in it. The double bed mattress was too hard and as myself and my partner suffer with bad backs, we ended up in the bunks and my 2 daughters shared the double. Not very romantic!!!
The balcony is solid (not bars) so if you sit in the chairs all you can see is mountain tops and treetops. It's also very small. Our air-conditioning was on all the time and we could control the temperature from our room and turn it off if we so wished.
The entertainment kept us entertained. Kids loved the kid's clubs. You had to pay 3 euros per child for the evening kids party though. The shows: there was a Madonna impressionist (good), a magician (good), a guitarist (goodish), Kool and the Gang (didn't watch them though, but sounded good from our room), a reptile show (a bit rubbish, but kids enjoyed), ladies vs men competition (good - cos I was one of the ladies and we won), a kids competition (good for kids), etc. There was a show of some sort every evening, with bingo and kids mini disco. We never felt the need to venture elsewhere for entertainment. Having small children, this was enough for us and we went to bed straight afterwards (about 11pm -11.30pm). A bit noisy at night with the usual inconsiderate drunk people and noisy kids running down corridors etc. But I took my earplugs so didn't bother me much.
All in all, we all enjoyed this holiday (11 nights) and I was actually really sad to leave. I would definitely go back as long as we got a new mattress - but as that's probably not going to happen, it's unlikely we will return. This is definitely a 'family' hotel. I wouldn't recommend 'adults only' to go. Oh, and as usual when you go in peak season - not enough sun beds...

i have recently come back from this holiday and it was amazing. The food was delicious, fresh and with a huge choice in lovelies. the beach is just around the corner and is a treat for the whole family. spiking my slushy drinks was great. i highly recommend it for the over 18s. i also liked the sandwiches. good times.
my only problem was the hard beds because ive just had a new bed which is very soft but i would not loose a minute of sleep over it. overall it was grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat as tony the tiger would say :) enjoy. xx

After having two successful all inclusive holidays in Ibiza my family and I decided to try a different resort and hotel. We were very dissapointed. The beds were rock hard making a decent nights sleep an impossibility which has left me with an ongoing backache even after our return. The rooms were also cramped, looking like they had been made for a double bed to accommodate two adults but had squeezed in a bunk bed. Manouvering around an overfurnished room whilst trying to get ready with two children was a nightmare.
The food was bizarre. I don't consider deep fried battered broccolli, cauliflower or sprouts either appertising or healthy. Chips were served for breakfast on the childrens selection. Although my children were abso.utely forbidden from having these at breakfast, they were constantly on offer in the snack bar where they would help themselves all day every day. By the end of the visit I was desperate for a healthy meal of meat and veg (unbattered). When there was veg, it was offered along side pasta, or something else fried. We found ourselves eating out instead to get a decent meal. The meals were often the talk of the poolside with other guests being equally dissatisfied. At the snack bar, there was a constant stream of burgers and chips which was hard to dissuade the kids from eating every day.
The bar was all inclusive and was supposed to shut at 12 midnight. However, the staff were keen to get home and were in the habit of clearing chairs and tables from around you, chasing you out and shutting the bar early. Once it was shut there was nowhere to sit in the hotel and you felt like children being ushered to bed early.
The entertainment was dismal. One of the reps explained that Thompson no longer funded the entertainment so the budget was limited. At least three of the nights were free for the hotel as they had a karaoke (a dismal night) talent show (again dismal) and a night called 'Go Fetch' where guests were used in a game to retrieve as many objects in the least time from the audience.
All in all, this has put me off going all inclusive ever again.

Where can i start, having just arrived back i just had to sit down and report back to this site as i read all the reports before we left(in future i will use this site before booking)The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spotless and are cleaned everyday to a very high standard. Our room was meant for three(double bed and a bunkbed)and this made the room very small. The food is not the greatest..breakfast is a bit hit and miss and lunch does tend to repeat itself, dinner was so so(we stayed for 10 nights)and we ate out on the last three nights.Drinks and ice cream are a godsend as it was very hot from morning to evening. The entertainment is nothing short of a disgrace, the staff tried very hard to entertain, but there was not one decent act on when we stayed. The staff and the thomson rep were the best i have met in quite a few years and nothing was to much trouble for them, the pool are is ok(we went to the beach most days as its only 5mins from the hotel. We visited the old town which is stunning(get the number 2 bus)the markets and also went to see the pirate adventure which is worth every penny.overall an excellent holiday.
p.s i hope this is a great help.......

Ater reading all the bad reports that people have wrote , myself and the group of 12 (family and friends) i was dreading it but , glad we didnt cancel as it as good so dont believe all you read please go and make your own mind up etc .
We arrived and found the reception staff very pleasant and welcoming , the rooms are good an average size but lots and lots of storage space very clean and comfy . these were also cleaned and beds made every day of our 11 night stay ! TV in room was english with kids channel and bbc1 for adults .
Entertainment was good we seen some very good shows like "kool and the gang" tribute then "madonna" and "Brazillian dancers" and a magic show etc they were good shows at 10pm for all age groups etc . during the day the same team did a quiz and water polo and darts and pool etc so always something going on (stuart +esme) work very hard .
Food was very good nice quality , yes abit repatitive but always something for any age group , our group was abit dissapointed as near the outside area of the bar there is a grill/bbq which we thought would do burgers etc but didnt . you had to go in the restaurant for your lunch but could bring it outside . there is also an indoor snack area near the bar but ok for a sandwich or cake etc
Drinks were very good and help yourself style was a great idea . kids have option of slush puppy and ice cream anytime of day !
Our only 2 bad points are that the hotel itself closes completley at 23.55pm when drinks stop and all lights out !!! so you have no choice but to go bed or if like us lot some nights want a late drink try "cheers" bar less than 5 mins walk ! and you cannot control the air conditioning in your bedroom yourself , the hotel do it for all rooms !
Overall very good value for money and we got our money worth our group was aged 5-65 and we had a great time meeting others from milton keynes, wigan and even others from back home in Leicester , please give this hotel a try we are glad we did !!

we came back on 31st july after spending 2 fab weeks here.
very friendly staff.(english lady called Sue) overall a very clean hotel with maid service every day.
help yourself to red, white & rose wine, lager, soft drinks and water, slushes and ice creams. bar service for spirits etc. make your own sandwiches serviced in bar area 10am-11pm.
brill childrens & adults entertainers.(hard working stuart and esme) separately run kids clubs were great for my 3 and 8 year olds.
8.30pm kids disco. 9.15 bingo nightly etertainment starts at 10. which ranges from groups singing, dancing, comedian/magician (a must see).
beach not even a 5 min walk away past various spar shops which sold everything from beach balls to english grub. very clean safe shallow waters.
hotel food was great even with my fussy kids. plenty of salads and fruit 2. very good policy not allowing anyone to reserve sunloungers on a morning. so when pool opens at 9 a queue does form at doors bout 8.30 with towels at the ready!!!!
want to book up again for next year. we didnt want to leave!!!!

Just back from 2wks holiday at Continental Park. We booked our hol on last years reviews and then it changed to all inclusive and reviews went bad so we contacted Thomson to find out why. They assured us that they had been in touch with the hotel and that all was ok now and 'Back to normal'. They said that the food was good with plenty of choice - this is true if you like fish, pasta or pork (which I don't so I was left with burgers, chips and salad for 2 wks) also the restaurant staff don't know how to smile. The daytime entertainment wasn't up to much - no disrespect to Stewart or Esme they were great and did a good job with what they had. As for the evenings it was much the same as they had left it too late to book the best acts. Thomson also said the bar would be open til 12:00 or 1:00 depending on the entertainment - the entertainment was always finished by 11:00 so there was never a chance of the bar being open til 1:00. Last orders is 11:45 and after that you cant even get a drink of water so I advise you to fill a bottle up and take it to your room. Just round the corner is an English pub called The Swan and that is open til around 1:00 and they serve Tetley tea !! The rooms are very clean and so is the hotel. The air con didn't come on til late at night so blow drying my hair in the heat was a nightmare. The tennis court is available to book for just under 10 euro. The beach is just a 5 min walk away and its gorgeous and the water very warm but the sun loungers are expensive at 8.25 each. Wetsern Water Park and its neighbouring Aqualand are well worth a visit and a great day out. Would definately go back to Alcudia but not to that Hotel.

Have just returned from 11 nights at the Continental Hotel. We had a great time. An 11 and a 10 year old had a fantastic time. Room was small but did the job, loads of storage. The staff were all friendly and helpful and they were always cleaning, a very clean hotel. All soft drinks, wines and beers are self serve which was great as there was never any queues and no one seemed to abuse it, the only thing behind the bar was spirits. The food was great, my kids are quite fussy eaters and they found something every meal time. They even tried new stuff and found they liked it. If you walked out the restaurant hungry you would only have yourself to blame as there was a great deal of choice. Some people want to pay next to nothing and get the very best of everything, life doesnt work like that!!!!!
The only drawback to our holiday was the mosquitos (nothing to do with the hotel at all). We had never been bitten by mossies before and yet we were a great attraction to them in Alcudia, we had taken sprays, wipes and plug in things and still got bitten, the only thing to do is take plenty of antihistamin creams and tablets and be prepared. In saying that my sister and partner came for a week also and they never got bitten at all, so it gets some and not others. We had a fantastic holiday mainly due to a great hotel. So go and eat, drink and be merry!!!

Have just returned from a weeks all Inclusive at the Continental Park. Overall we had a good holiday. The rooms were small but we knew that before we went and you dont spend much time in them anyway! My children aged 4 and 6 loved the kids club which is on different times during the day depending on the age of your child, and with a small charge of 3 euros 4 times a week the kids club reps hold different theme partys in the evenings for the children. The only let down for this hotel is the food , Breakfast was fine quite a good selection but lunch, snacks and dinner were not great! If we had stayed longer than a week we would of ended up eating out. There was just not enough Variety and the salad bar was too small. I would go back to the Continental park again if they did something with the food! it was a great location the staff were friendly and the entertainment was good.

Our family have just returned from this hotel, after two weeks, The hotel was good in some ways and not so good in others. We booked as super family but received a letter a week before going to say it was no longer super family which isnt right. When we arrived the hotel staff were nice and friendly especially sue on reception. The rooms were quite small with very little space to move, but were kept clean and tidy by the hotel cleaners. The balcony was too high if you were sat down, you couldnt see over the top, you had to stand up to actually see anything. The pools were great both pools were very clean and plenty big enough for people to swim about in. The kids club although what they did with the children was good, was only on five days a week and not seven and was only on at certain times. If you wanted your children to go in the evening their was a charge of 3 euros per child which is wrong when your all inclusive. you also had to pay for table tennis, football, tennis which isnt on when youve paid for everything up front.
The restaurant was very nice and clean, meal times were good, but the selection of food was quite poor especially lunch time, my children like burgers and hot dogs but not for fourteen days on the trot. breakfast and your evening meals were a bit better with more variety of different foods. The bar snacks were a little poor with the same food in the snack bar pretty much all day so by yhe end of the day it looked a bit worse for wear. the snack bar consisted of bread, ham, cheese bit of lett and tom, and a couple of cakes. This was put out at 11am and left there till 11pm. There was slushes and ice-cream on offer all day which was great for the kids and you could help yourselves to beer, coke fanta, sprite, water and wine all day long which was also great.
overall the hotel was not bad but to return they need to make some improvements as you pay all that money only to have to pay all these extras to join in activities or just to have some fun. Thomson need to be careful about what they sell you as your holiday as its very misleading. If your going here have fun and say hi to the reps stuart and ezmae the entertainers who worked really hard, just make sure you take some money with you, you will need it.

Just returned this morning from one week at this fabulous hotel. There were 3 adults and 3 children in our party. We booked this last August mainly because of it being a Superfamily hotel, so when we received the letter from travel agent a few weeks before we left to say there were some changes I was a bit aprehensive.
However, on arrival at the hotel it was really clean and all the staff were very helpful.
The food was really good with a selection of salad, meat, pasta or fish every day. The drinks and ice cream were of good quality and although plentiful I didn't find the kids over induldged. The rooms were a bit small, but lots of cupboard space and we only used it to sleep in as there was so much to do.
The kidzone Reps were fantastic and my kids already asking when they will see Hula Haley, Smiley Kylie and Krazy Karin again. Stuart and Esme were good too keeping the daytime and early evening entertainment going. The visiting entertainers were also very good and varied.
Having paid £2100 for this holiday it certainly wasn't cheap but I would say we more than got what we paid for and would return again to the same hotel.
So for anyone who is waiting to go this hotel - relax and have a great time - It's a good choice!

What can I say. Anybody who whinges about this hotel, staff, food or entertainment need to take a good long look at themselves.
To keep things in perspective. This hotel is 3 star and you will only proabably be paying 300 quid a week all inc, its not 5 star and you wont be paying a kings ransom to stay.
On that basic premise, i have to say that the hotel is excellent in nearly all areas from a good variety of hot fresh food, attentive and friendly staff, adequately sized rooms which were thoroughly cleaned daily, beer, wines, slush, ice cream, sangria, soft drinks on tap all day with no queues, decent snacks, non-intrusive entertainment, good facilites inc wireless internet, excellent reception staff (thanks Margarita), non "in your face" helpful reps, to excellent location....the list goes on.
Its normally only scummers who complain; maybe because there isnt enough turkey twizzlers or chicken nuggets on the menu and perhaps nobody to take care of their kids 24x7. You pay for what you get and in my opinion (i used to be a holiday rep) this hotel is excellent value.
Many thanks to all the staff for making our stay fantastic. Special mention to:
Hassan, Jaimie, Sue, Paula...Muchas Gracias y Suerte !
I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are going soon then dont worry you'll have a great time.
Ian
