" Just got back from Alcudia the hotel... "

Just got back from Alcudia the hotel and apartments were very clean and tidy at all times. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially sue the receptionist. The Thomson reps (mad Mel, exciting Emma, nutty Nat, silly Sarah, cheeky Charlie, magic Mel, Debs & Michael) were brilliant they made our stay very entertaining. Be aware of the local spars as they are very expensive. If you are going self catering there is a supermarket called Eroski about 15 minutes from the hotel (from the gate at the side of the apartments turn left and walk for about 15 minutes) it is very cheap and you can get everything you need. If you plan on going out for a meal there are plenty of places to eat the best one's we found were: JP's, Smiths, Chivels and martins. All of the places are just off the main road.
The beach was very good you paid 2 euros for a sunlounger all day. To get to Alcudia market (Tuesdays & Sundays) costs 1 euro on the bus or if you want to stay in the hotel for the day there is entertainment and games run by the entertainment staff for children and adults with a daily quiz.
All in all the holiday was well worth the money and we would recommend to anyone.

Hotel room was basic but all that was needed. Our son who is 15 months was totally spoiled while there. The crèche was fantastic Natalie and Michael were fantastic with our son and the rest of kids reps seemed to fight over cuddling the babies in the crèche. Which of course my son loved the attention.
The day trips were fantastic, moonlight riding was brilliant and was western water world.
What made our holiday was the evening entertainers, Mad Mel and energetic Emma. Both these two made a huge effort to include all guest. Even our son came away with a certificate which Mel even laminated to ensure he didn’t try and eat it.
Thank you to all that made our son’s first holiday abroad so great!!
We have just come back from 11 night half board. Unfortunately this is the only holiday we have ever had where we looked forward to coming home.

There were 2 adults and 1 child that went and the rooms only just about fit us in with a cot. And don't expect to sit on the balcony and relax because it is so tiny I think only 1 person at a time would fit. The food at the hotel was very nice and Alex the head waiter made us feel very welcome. Another good part was the crèche/people that ran it, they were very good and reliable.

Our child was taken ill and we called the hotel doctor, not a very wise decision, he was not the nicest of doctors, we felt very much like a burden and he didn’t treat the little one with the care we would expect. If you fancy a holiday in Blackpool with the sun you have come to the right place.
Hi everyone,
Firstly I’d like to thank all the previous comments as I found them very helpful in making my holiday so enjoyable. We went for 11 nights half board and ate as much as we wanted I would recommend it. The hotel was clean, food excellent and entertainment good. The room was small with the bunk beds in but we did not spend much time in there. The staff were great and one night I was charged 7 euros for some drinks. I gave him a 20 euro note thinking it was a 5 euro and a 2 euro coin. Straight away he pointed out my mistake, which was very honest of him. Hire a fridge for cold drinks etc and bring a travel kettle for a cuppa on the balcony. My kids 11 and 7 loved the evening entertainment and I was dragged back to the hotel every night before it started. At 10pm a tribute band or magician would come on and Rod Stewart was very good. The beach was excellent and we bought pastries etc. from the supermarket nearest the beach to eat at lunch time.
Lots of British bars to pop into and on Saturday watch a live football game in the afternoon from there.
Enjoyed pirates, Lazy day cruise and caves of Drac.
I booked my holiday for next year and will be returning here for 14 nights. I have also booked a car for 3 days as it is awkward to get around and want to check out the other resorts.
I thought this hotel was good value for money
Cheers

We are just back from 2 weeks at continental park hotel. The hotel is lovely and clean and the food was excellent.
The entertainment was the best Loopy Liam and Mad Mel were excellent and they work hard everyday doing water games and quizzes during the day and then at 8pm they have a kids disco and at 9pm they have the prize giving for the people that won the days activities and then at 10pm they have live music which is always good.
There is plenty of shops around you which is good.
And the reps are very helpful and funny.
But Loopy Liam and Mad Mel were the best
Hope to see use soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

" Just got back from a week in Hotel... "

Just got back from a week in Hotel Continental Park in Alcudia.
The Resort and Hotel were absolutely superb, the entertainment was ongoing throughout the day for all ages.
We stayed in the Apartments which were predominantly for self catering and were cleaned every day to a high standard.
There are lots of Spar shops on/around the resort, which were extremely expensive, consider going half board (which I didn’t!) as you may save a packet. There are lots of great restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walking distance. You must try the evening entertainment for kids at CHEERS BAR, the staff and DJ are mostly English and they really know how to give the kids a fun filled time. Sevy(DJ), Katy and Tracey will ensure your kids have a great time, lots of games/fun
There are taxis within a couple of minutes walk from the complex, costing around 7 euro for a trip to Alcudia Port. Be careful of the busy road when going to the beach ( a bit like wacky races), however an excellent beach where you could go out around 200 ft and the water be still only up to your knees.
The evening entertainment usually starts around 8pm with a kids disco, usually run by Liam or Mad Mel who have unlimited energy, followed at 10pm by entertainment.

Having just returned from the continental park hotel in playa de Muro in Alcudia on the 27th may, I feel I have to make a few comments of my own.
This hotel is one of the best I have been to. The standard is exceptionally high and I would certainly go back there.
Alex the head waiter ensured everyone was catered for , the dining room was immaculate and the meals delicious and varied.
Thomson’s , as always provides an excellent service to the holidaymaker especially those with children. The reps were brilliant throughout, providing great entertainment for the kids.
Thank you Thomson’s and also Simon the hotels entertainment manager for a truly wonderful time.
See you all again, soon, I hope. From Glennis Kearns.

I would just like to say that I have returned from a superfamily holiday with Thomsons. In the two weeks I was there many families had complained of becoming sick and in my opinion no steps were taken to ease their suffering. Nobody was advised by the reps that there was a problem. If you have teenagers I can honestly say this is not the place for them they are considered adults and are charged adult prices for every thing and there were scarcely any activities that they could join in with the only thing available were the arcade games which were very expensive. A coke cost 1.70 euro and so did a cup of tea not a mug and the beer cost 3.70 euro for a pint. It was 2 euro for a game of pool which by the way had no white ball for two weeks and we had to borrow the ball from the other table. The reps themselves did what was adequately needed just about. The apartments were dirty when I arrived with crumbs and the plates and pans all needed to be washed. At one stage a little boy had cut his foot at the poolside on glass which somebody then told me it was still there two days later. The pool is also not covered at night and the evening entertainment is held right beside the pool so you must keep a very close eye on your small children. There was one bar there that was fantastic and that was named cheers at the back of the hotel. In fact I spent my last night there dressed up as peekachooo. If your looking for a cheap holiday be warned this hotel and location is not for you we were not in the main part of Alcudia and there were no buses late at night to come back and a taxi usually costs 8.50 euro which every night for two weeks is a bit much even the sun beds on the beach were 8.00 euro.
Not cheap not picturesque and certainly not worth the money. Thomsons charge kids from thirteen adults fares for every thing I even had to pay 61.00 euro for my little brother to see Pirates when the Childs price is half that. I can only say that I have been exploited more than once in my two weeks stay. Even the safe cost me 34.00 euro for two weeks with only 3.00 euro back deposit. In the time I was there and people were sick the towels in the public toilets were only changed once a day and there was never any soap in the pool side toilets one family had complained that their child had been sick and had diarrhoea in the night and asked for new sheets eventually they had got them but their old sheets had been left outside their room in the communal hall for two days. Some of the reps were great but some of them were short sarcastic and not at all helpful in fact I over heard one conversation where they stated they could not be bothered to perform some of the activities of the day because it was coming to the end of the season. But in hind sight is that not what I had paid for as well as other things. In some places it was 4.20 just for an ice-cream ant way I think you get the picture.

2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2. We had a fabulous time here. The reps were entertaining and funny, particularly Roz and Wes. Entertainment was great both daytime and evening. Rooms were small but adequate with ample storage. Kids club and staff were great too. Prices at the bar were expensive, but this is usually the case in any hotel. Although we were told not to bring in our own drinks and food around the pool, many people did and if you were discreet the waiters overlooked it.

Food was fantastic. I’m not easily pleased but good hot food available without any delay is great for a family with two young children. The kids have their own buffet too. There was so much choice you couldn’t fail to gain weight. Overall it was a fantastic holiday and we would definitely go back.

I had a great holiday at the Continental Park Hotel. A person has commented that some of the reps aren’t very nice and didn’t have things 4 children. This isn’t true. They have games all through the day like water basketball aqua splash and water aerobics. I also thought the reps were fab especially Wez and Roz!!!!!!!!!

This hotel is definitely for families the entertainment for kids was good and many thing for them to do our children were very happy to be with the Thompson’s reps just have to mention Lucy, what a great kids rep she is. And mad with it. Plenty to do all day and evenings too.
Only downfall drinks are expensive and as it’s an English hotel. Coffee is in small cups not mugs. The area of Alcudia has lots to see and offer but we would recommend car hire as local places are well worth visiting.
Must mention take the kids to cheers bar they loved it. All in all we will be booking to return again, many thanks to all that made a week most brilliant.
