Continental Park Hotel, Alcudia, Spain
Hotel Information
Hotel Description:
These apartments are special because... ...the stunning eight mile stretch of golden sand beach, the longest in Majorca, is just across the road. The Continental Park offers a good standard of accommodation with centrally controlled air-conditioning. However, the vast range of activities run by the Thomson Superfamily team will mean that you will hardly ever be in your room.Nearby Hotels Viewed by Other Travellers
Continental Park Hotel Reviews
" What can i say...
This... "
This is the 3rd trip to Hotel Continental Park in 4 years, and as you will have probably read there has been some changes, the main change is thats its not a Thomson Super Family hotel anymore and whilst i agree this was refelected in the hotel entertainment, which was my ONLY criticism.
NOW ! For those who are planning on going to this hotel or have booked and seen some of the poor reviews, IGNORE THEM.. This is a fantastic hotel. From the reception and an english receptionist SUE, who is both a great help and speaks fluent spanish to the restaurant staff and bar staff, they could not be faulted. The great changes are that the hotel is all inclusive, and the soft drinks, beer, red white and rose wine are all SELF SERVICE, you wont have to queue. The hotel is kept lovely and clean and the rooms were cleaned daily. There are 2 lifts in the hotel and 3 internet booths, 1 euro for 10 mins use. There are 2 pools of which one is a kiddie pool and plenty of tables and sun loungers. The food in the hotel which has been criticised in previous reviews is actually very nice, plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meal and burgers and cold food choices for lunch, there is plenty of room in the restaurant, you would always get seated. The rooms arent huge, but they are only somewhere to sleep, you will get used to them. Air conditioning comes on in the room at 3pm, so you can have a nice siesta.
There is plenty to do in alcudia, Thomson offer plenty of trips, the Pirates is fantastic. This year we did the Palma Plus trip, which was palma cathedral and shopping in Palma. There is a Burger King right outside the hotel if your missing home and plenty of bars and restaurants around you. There is a family bar called CHEERS, which is left out of the hotel, turn right at the end of the street and 150m in front of you.
If you go left out of the hotel and left at the end of the road to the main road, you are 50m from the beach, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, also a taxi rank, which will only cost 6 euros to Alcudia Port, where you can find more shops, bars, restaurants and you can catch the SEABUS back to the beach near the hotel for 10 Euros for 2 adults and a child.
Again, if like us you got a letter saying there has been changes to the hotel, keep an open mind, we were not disappointed and will definately go again
Have a lovely trip

Submitted By: Mrs A AnsteyKidzone was brill, thanks to the reps for making it so fun. Also Sue on reception was fab, my son has coeliacs (wheat intolerance) and between Sue, Chef and myself bringing pizzs, pasta etc from home he ate well. Food is good, didnt make us ill, it does repeat itself often, lots of chips)but then again we have been all inc before and you do get fed up. Breakfast is brill, cooked, rolls/croissants, cereals, fruit, ham cheese. The entertainment was good, Stuart & Esme are trying really hard, but i do feel i didnt really get what i paid for as it's now not superfamily. Also enterainment in the evenings starts 8.30 with mini disco for kids, 9.30 bingo and then 10.00 for show, which is a bit late fo small ones and if you have 1st level room or room looking over the pool forget going to sleep early.also if on 1st floor forget sleeping in as cleaners are scrapping chairs across the floor at 7.30am.
Larger, Wine, soft drinks, slush drinks and ice cream is on self serve which is good, stops queues at bar.(but observed under age kids helping themselves to it as well)
What really spoiled it was people moaning about their holiday it was really not that bad for the money paid for the holiday) and during our 2nd week kids running around the hotel day and especially at night screaming shouting, jumping on the sun loungers, pool tables and running up and down the corridors at night (like being in Shameless)whilst parents left them to it. No respect for others at all, but this wasn't the hotels fault but perhaps a security person on site would be a good idea to sort this type of thing out as the hotel staff are so nice and helpful i dont think they are quite use to this type of behaviour, maybe because 1st year all inclusive.
Overall we had a fab holiday, beach is brill for young children as sea shallow. Hotel was good value for money and the kids really enjoyed themselves. just remember mosquito repelletn though!

Submitted By: Mrs S PhilipsThe hotel was great, very clean, entertainment good, plenty to keep kids and children entertained.
There is plenty of choice for meals, ok, yes there are chips with every meal, but you dont have to choose them, there are other options!
The all inclusive is fab value for money.
Dont know why people moan about the rooms as we had a family room which we thought was plenty big enough.
I nearly changed my holiday after reading some of the reviews, but I am so glad i didnt as we really liked this hotel and wouldnt think twice about going back.
My children aged 8 and 5 had the best holiday and cried when they left!
I think people need to realise that this hotel has only just gone all inclusive so it is new to them, i think that they are doing a really good job, its a lovely hotel so enjoy.....
" what can i say about this hotel........ "
Submitted By: Mrs S MoslynThis is now no longer an all thomson hotel, all thomson equipment for entertainment and entertainment staff has gone, we booked this expecting a superfamily what a joke, the kids were bored, even asked for a colouring book instead of doing what the hotel called entertainment. We had to pay to use tennis court, football pitch and bouncy casle, we payed for all inclusive, what a joke, food wasn`t available after 8pm the first week and for the second week they changed it to ham and cheese sandwiches untill 11pm this might have been ok if it wasn`t for the fact that they had been out uncovered since 10am.
The evening entertainment consists of 30 mins kids disco 10 mins of bingo (that you have to pay for) and then if you are lucky 1 hour of crap sometimes only 20mins.
the only good thing is the reps and kidzone team which are still thomson, they are fantastic and very helpful, (if u have booked this holiday and still go, go easy on the reps the poor holiday isn`t their fault they have just been dumped in it as much as we have.
If you have booked this as a holiday try and get a refund as you are not getting what you pay for.i will never return to this hotel and have been seriously put of traveling with thomson.
" write where can i start ? just... "

To keep things in perspective. This hotel is 3 star and you will only proabably be paying 300 quid a week all inc, its not 5 star and you wont be paying a kings ransom to stay.
On that basic premise, i have to say that the hotel is excellent in nearly all areas from a good variety of hot fresh food, attentive and friendly staff, adequately sized rooms which were thoroughly cleaned daily, beer, wines, slush, ice cream, sangria, soft drinks on tap all day with no queues, decent snacks, non-intrusive entertainment, good facilites inc wireless internet, excellent reception staff (thanks Margarita), non "in your face" helpful reps, to excellent location....the list goes on.
Its normally only scummers who complain; maybe because there isnt enough turkey twizzlers or chicken nuggets on the menu and perhaps nobody to take care of their kids 24x7. You pay for what you get and in my opinion (i used to be a holiday rep) this hotel is excellent value.
Many thanks to all the staff for making our stay fantastic. Special mention to:
Hassan, Jaimie, Sue, Paula...Muchas Gracias y Suerte !
I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are going soon then dont worry you'll have a great time.
