we stayed at the Kosmas from 27/06/2011 till 11/07/2011 and first impressions were good but the owners treat the first time users of the apartments like second class citizens and pander to the needs of people who have been going for years at the expense of first time users to the point they are quite ignorant and abrupt towards you maybe they could take customer relations lessons from the little man in the shop over the road who is very nice and a top bloke dont waste your money on the greek night at the kosmas the food is poor at best (bit of chicken leg glass of cheap wine ) 12 euros better night can be had at smileys in roda centre greek dancers come out of sea and fantastic night alex the owner is a great bloke as well 3 of us spent all night in there 5 hours great night entertainment total cost 65 euros for all food and drink only entertainment at kosmas was karaoke bit of music so take your ear plugs with you because of noise and plenty of stuff for the mozzies its the worst ive ever been bitten in over 30 years of going abroad.
i would go back to roda again but would not stay at the kosmas thge room are clean but very bog standard and the only thing the kitchen that worked properly was the kettle so it would not be possible to make any food in the apartments

We enjoyed it at Corfu that much we are going back for the third time!
It's peaceful and quite and the locals are really nice people, I don't drink and like going to the quite pubs like sandys bar just of the main street in roda itself they just make you so welcome and yes we are returning to the kosmas apartments it's a lovely family that run it and the place was spotless.

Just returned from kosmas appt and i'm so glad the weather was scorching, if it had been raining all week we would have been bored silly.
spent each day wandering what to do with ourselves. went with friends so luckily we were able to have a laugh with someone.
appartments are kept very clean, although we found them uncomfortable. no where comfy to sit. the kitchen was very basic, you couldn't cook in there too often, the beds were rock hard, the toilet kept breaking, the balconly was a great size and a sun trap, but very noisy from all the traffic, so if your looking for peace dont sit on the balcony.
Apart from that the owners were great.
The best restaurant we found was La Madera (Tex Mex)the food was amazing, especially the bbq ribs and the sizzling chicken, the bbq sauce that came with that was quite spicy but the cheese sauce was great. Good value and the wine was brilliant.
Overall if you are going s/c take plenty of money. we picked up a tin of corned beef to put in rolls and it was 5 euros, so we put it back.

I have just returned from a week here where i stayed with my boyfriend, the apartments are so clean, the staff very friendly, go to the Greek night put on by Christos, he will get cheeky free shots out if you stay late enough.
The pool was fabulous, so many sunbeds, the apartments are 5 min walk out of town but you really dont notice this and its nice not to be in the centre.
Roda is fairly quiet so we went to Sidari on the bus for a night out which was great.
We hired a quad from Top Gear - 35 euros for a 250cc quad. Great stuff.
We hired a car from something like "Dassios" car hire, all i will say on this is NEVER DO IT, the Greek owner is an idiot who took the car off us when we explained we were struggling to put it into reverse and basically said we were stupid and couldnt drive.
Anyway!! Go to the Golden Sands bar - its lovely and Lisa who owns it is lovely. Her dogs are also beautiful.
We visited Kassiopi, Kalamaki, Agios Stefanos and Acharavi and everywhere was gorgeous, fabulous weather all week.
I didnt want to leave, and keep looking at my photos to remind myself of the place!!
Thank you Kosmas!

we have just returned from our first holiday in corfu and all i can say is i will be returning next year we had a 2 week stay in the kosmas apartments and it was wonderfull the staff were very helpfull and welcoming the food was all home cooked and was beautifull the menu offers a lot of choice with greek and english meals and snacks available the rooms are all clean and the cleaner comes around most days to the situation of the apartments is a little walk from roda but this was ideal as its not too close to all the noise we found that we found we could have a swim in the moning and then a leisurley stroll to the towm in the afternoon roda offers a lot of different choices of places to eat and food in all of them was nice and would cost around 30 euros for a three course meal and drinks for 2 there are alot of places to drink in roda and all will welcome children if you have a young family and are looking for somewhere for the kids to play whilst you have a drink try nemos they have a large play area for the kids whyich has 1 way in and out so your little ones wont wander off and the cocktail menu is excellent aswell the play area is always super visede aswell but if you dont want to take the walk to roda just stay and relax in the beautifull pool at the apartments i have been home for four days and the 10 people who were in our party have all said they will be booking to go back to kosmas apartments for next year with in the next 2 weeks well done to all the family who run the apartments you made my first stay in corfu one the best holidays ive ever had and i will return.

We have just had our first holiday in Corfu and stayed at the Kosmas Studios in Roda. What lovely people who run this complex. The apartments are clean and very adequate. The pool area is lovely and there are always plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up at the crack of dawn! The food served at the pool bar was very good and very reasonable - especially Mamas specials! There is a supermarket directly opposite and a 5 minute walk brings you to the main road of Roda. There are pleanty of nice tavernas to eat at all reasonably priced. In fact on our last night most were offering 10 - 15 % off the bill. We hired a car for a couple of days from the a place down by the beach - it was 20€ per day and they delivered and collected. Try visiting the Monolith Taverna in Acharavi which is next place along from Roda. Its a hairy drive up but the views are well worth it. Kassiopi is also nice to visit. We would definitely go back and would stay at the Kosmas again.

We have just returned from a two week holiday in Corfu. It is 24 years since we were last in Roda so a lot has changed since then. The Kosmas appartments were excellent in both the cleanliness and the hospitality of the owners. All the family make you welcome and the cleaner is a lovely friendly lady. We chatted to a few people who were also staying at the Kosmas some who have returned after a previous visit and like us, they all enjoyed their stay. We had a inland view on the top floor and yes there is some road noise but only in the day time and the occasional car or bike or night but nothing to keep you awake for hours. The beach is a slight stroll away but was not a problem to us and after an evening meal in Roda it was nice to have a walk at the end of the evening. I would certainly go back again to the Kosmas and would definatley recomend it if you want a relaxing holiday. Thanks to George, Christos and family for making us so welcome. If Laura and her friend who sayed below us for our first week are reading this, just to let you know, I carried on feeding Mum (the cat) and her babies whilst we were there and a nice lady called Mandy has taken over during her stay.

Recession in Roda

We had 2 weeks at Kosmas, 4 adults in 2 rooms. This was our 9th holiday in Corfu and the 4th in Roda although the first at Kosmas.Much of the earlier comment is valid as George and family are a typical Greek owner/ occupier family with all that entails.
The accomodation block is 3 storeys high not 2 as some reviews suggest and I can imagine the top flight would be a bit much for the more portly or elderly guests there being a good number of steps to negotiate especially in the 40 degree midday heat. I do take issue with the cleanliness however, the pool was only cleaned once in the 2 weeks we were there (by the vacuum hose method) whilst there was no evidence of netting of the flies on the surface at all. Rooms are cleaned 6 times a week but the bed linen is only changed once a week(moral of the story, don't sweat).Since only 3 apartments actually paid for the aircon as seen by the number of remote controls still in the pigeon-holes, the main method of keeping the apartments cool was by having the front door and shutters at the rear open for a through draught. Thats fine if you want to avoid the €5 a day charge for a/c, not so good if you want to avoid Roda's major mozzie problem or to keep the traffic noise out.The aircon is the best investment you can make at this site. The apartment block is showing its age particularly in the plumbing (if I had €10 for each time I heard George being asked to fix a toilet I could have had a couple of nights out on him). Similarly the main solar heating panel for the hot water has become shaded by a huge palm tree in the middle of the afternoon so expect a cool / cold shower if you linger too long in the pool (open until 8.30pm). George does his best but there is a couple of hours each morning when the reception / bar is open and there are no English speakers on duty. This will only get worse once his teenage daughter Efi goes back to school in early September.
The meals at the bar are OK if a little pricey compared to whats available in Roda or further afield.Speaking to George and other owners in Roda, there is a great problem putting on Greek Nights as nobody seems willing to pay for them.It was obvious that when people came to the appartments they would have a good blow-out on the first night only to draw in their horns the day after when they realise how much food and drink costs now that the Pound has collapsed against the Euro. They soon came to the conclusion that they had not reckoned on the other costs of the holiday costing so much. All the restuaranteurs in the town (and in Arillas, Kassiopi, Sidari and Gouvia) said the same thing- the British are coming but they are not spending any money. This all leads to a slightly run-down feel to the places where the British dominate whereas places like Dassia, Paleo and Agios Georgios seem to be doing better with their large German, Dutch, Italian and even French visitor numbers. People shouldn't kid themselves about the exchange rate they get for the pound; you are looking at one-for-one with the Euro. George and anyone else will sell you a small bottle of Coke for 1.8 and a large Mythos for 3 but just think Pounds when you hand over those funny little notes. Not so very long ago the maths was easy, 3 Euro is 2 Pounds, 67p to the Euro. One to one is a quite different matter.
I've just started looking through my credit card statement online as they come through- a meal for 4 with perhaps a couple of beers max starts at around £45, expect more like £50-60.Fewer and fewer places are taking the cards after the credit crunch almost wiped out Greece's banks- the traders are very wary of them.
Just remember when you arrive in Greece you have paid for the flight, transfer and room, nothing else.If you've got it, take plenty of money-if not enjoy the diet of chips and Pot Noodle.

We have just got back from a 7 day break to sunny Roda and the kosmas apartments.
Could not fault the place , the people and the team who kept the apartments spotless were brilliant.
Rooms cleaned every day apart from Sundays, pool and surrounding areas safe for kids
Hotel is back to front with reception down by the pool and the main block by the main road to Sidari.
Short walk down to the main traffic lights and turn left down to the beach , again safe for small children , shallow with a sandy bottom.
Plenty of places to eat and drink , we found that @ smileys you could have 2 courses and 1 litre of wine for 10 euro's ..... excellent value considering the current climate.
food brilliant and what a view across to Albainia.
Olymipic reps were very good (well done John in getting us into Corfu Airport before the Manchester flight
Have a excellent summer season to all in Roda ,and the Kosmas Apartments

just got back from kosmas apartments, had a great time christos and george are two brothers and they run the apartments they are really freindly and welcoming.
The apartments are very basic, but cleaned daily excepted sundays, The pool area is fab and there is a outdoor pool table also, all the food at the apartments is home made and would recommend anything on the menu my favourite was the bacon, cheese and tomato roll.
There is also a cocktail menu which is fab too they have a greek night on a thursday noght 8pm till late with 3 course meal and free glass for wine also not to forget the greek dancing that you have to join in with its such a great nite,a bbq night on a sunday which i never got to go to as i was on a boat trip, but was told it was lovely.
The town and beach is a 5 min walk away with lots of shops, restaurants and bars, drunken salior is a great bar and all the restaurants were fab and defo try the italian on corner of the cross road just as u turn into the town excellent food and service couldnt fault it. The beach has clear water and you can go out for miles also you can pay for a sun bed this ocst 4 euros for half a day and 8 euros for a whole day or just take your towel and its free.
we went on a couple of boat trips with olympic holidays, one was to corfu town on CAPTAIN ARIS boat we did the night shopping one and was very dissappionted we went to corfu for the shopping but just reminded me off shopping on oxford street lots of designer shop, gift shops and all mainly expencience and the boat trip home was very rough due to the fact it being 9pm i think.
We also went to Paxos and Parga i would highly reccomend this trip it does take the whole day up set off at 9am from corfu port going to parga first takes 3hrs and stay there for 2hrs then hour ride to paxos then 2hrs there and 3 hrs back to corfu long day but stunning views abd parga is to die for with clear blue water and sea view restaurants and cafe's best place to chill or go around the island and admire the site when we went it was 36 degrees out of water and 24 degrees in water so got a nice tan.
we took a bus ride to sidari but didnt really like it here ither i am only 23 and its meant to be for the young but we went in the day and all the shops were the same and sold the same things lots of restaurants and cafe's but didnt eat there so cant really review them the bus cost 3 euro 60 cence and left roda at 10:45am and the only bus to return to roda from sidari was at 4pm so a long day just strolling around bored really, but at night it maybe be different but again i wouldn't no as we never went at night.
RODA IS LOVELY AND PEACEFUL AND THE LOCALS ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING, VERY GOOD FOR A ROMANIC OR CHILLED OUT HOILDAY BUT KOSMAS IS THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN RODA EVEN THE LOCALS SAY THAT!!!!!

Excellent resort, very clean, well kept and comfortable. Beautiful pool with plenty of room for you to have own space. Couple of minutes and your in the town center, with plenty of choice for drinks and dinner. The beach is ok, not overly sandy if you know what i mean, but still its welcoming. I found that in both our apartment and in the town, that all the locals to be so welcoming and lovely. Perfect for couples and familys, if your into your die hard clubs, then not your place, but im 27 and it had enough bars etc. I highly recomend this place.

well what can i say!!! the family who owns the place are just so welcoming!!
they made you feel right at home. the studios were very clean, and well maintained.
the BBQ they put on is better then eating anywhere on the island! the mothers home made tzatziki was second to none! there Greek night was such a good night. normally i never get involved with all the entertainment things, but this was very good fun, again the food on the night very good. the location of the apartments were not far from the main beach and restaurants.
we did see most of the island and would definitely recommend some places. apart from the obvious like sidari, paleocastritsa although lovely, found to be a bit touristy.
some lovely beach in arillas and gorgeous coves on the east coast in kassiopi and ag stefanos and further down to kerassi.
overall we would definitely go back to kosmar just for the warm welcome that you get!
thank you once again to all at kosmas for making our two weeks stay so lovely.
