We have only just returned from a 2 week stay at the Kosmas Studio and Appartments and I wanted to write this review straight away. Having never been to Corfu I took the time to read many reviews on different complexs before we booked. Most of them had good and bad but I had to book so decided on the Kosmas. Believe me I could,nt of made a better choice. Kosmas is family run and the whole family went out of there way to make our stay a holiday to remember. George and Christos are brothers and run the pool side bar, plus put on the entertainment, plus many other things. Nothing was to much to trouble for them. Our flight was delayed 4 hours from Bournmeouth which meant we did,nt arrive until 10.30pm but the bar was still open and they even cooked us a meal. George plays in a band and invited us to a local festival in a little village not far from Roda. It was truely an experience and a honour to be there. Our accomadation was spacious and clean. The cleaner who was lovely came in every day except Sunday to clean the appartment. George and Christos's mother did the cooking and there father made the wine which was served on BBQ and Greek nights. (One tip, the wine is moorish but believe me potent, so watch your head the next morning) We went to a Greek night put on by the Oasis Hotel which is next to the Kosmas the first week which we thought was excellent but when George and Christos put on there Greek night a couple of nights later it excelled it 100%. So do not miss the Greek Night at the Kosmas, it will certainly be a night to remember. The appartments are only 5 minutes walk from the supermarkets and about ten minutes from the beach. There are plenty of bars, restaurents and shops. Although the pavements are not the same as in UK the area is flat so makes walking alot easier compared to some of the other areas. The pool area at the Kosmas is fantastic with plenty of sunbeds, and the bar does,nt close until the last person leaves. All in all I highly recommend the Kosmas, we are already waiting to book for next year. George, Christos and all your family we would like to thank you very much for making us so welcome and for making our holiday truely a holiday we will never forget.

Great location for families with younger children.
We found it quiet, safe and secure.
Despite the place being full, we didn't feel crowded at all.
Very clean and spacious rooms (based on a 2 bedroom groundfloor apartment), all the facilities you need.
Excellent pools (1 small / shallow and 1 large) very clean.
Very helpful, cheerful and informative people running the business.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Kosmas Apartments to freinds or people with younger children.
One comment - make sure you get a taxi transfer to and from the airport, it will cost you extra but it will be well worth it, getting anywhere by bus from the north of Corfu takes a long time, Taxi journey 45 minutes max, bus journey - who knows!!!

Well what to say we have just got back today. We were a party of 5 and had a fab time, the hotel is run by a family who are easy going and will go out the way to do stuff for you. Christof (sorry for bad spelling lol with the names) he is one of the sons, he is the one that speaks the most english as well as the others but he's your man.
There is not much to do in October as we found out but don't let that stop you coming the only thing I would say avoid is the horse riding don't go to the one by the beach go through the rep, all other things to do is safe and fun.
The best bar to go to is the Drunken Sailor its cheap and Alex the bar manager is a lot of fun plus Spiros you can have a laugh with even though he is a bit cheeky. Lets just say that something went wrong on holiday I got ill and they were really good and helpful and did everything they could to help. And even the next day checked how I was, kept everything to themselves and did everything to make me feel welcome.
Anyway back to the hotel, pool is very clean in fact the whole place is. The maid OMG she is so trustworthy we had everything out and didn't get a safe and nothing was touched she may move it somewhere safe but all safe totally safe.
Everything you hear about this place that is good is so true anything bad then don't bother reading it.

Brilliant!! The best holiday we have ever experienced!!! The rooms were very basic but this is normal for Greece. They were cleaned thoroughly daily and the staff were very pleasant, especially the 2 brothers who ran the affairs.
This accommodation would be perfect for families as there is a huge pool, very well maintained and a play area. There were many activities every evening ranging from BBQ's and Bingo to Karaoke and a Greek night. The only down side to the apartments was the short walk to the town, however it was on a busy road with CRAZY drivers!!
We have been to Roda before but stayed in the Elenitsa apts, however we enjoyed this accommodation better. The apartments are family run, making you feel right at home. The snack bar did amazing foods ranging from a burger and chips to the lemon chicken at the BBQ'S. The bar ran until everyone had had enough and served a full range of beverages.
The rep at the apts was brilliant, very helpful. She helped us book a hire car and showed us places of interest throughout the island. However towards the last day she fell and broke her leg, bless.
In the main part of Roda town there are many different bars and restaurants ranging from traditional Greek-Italian-Chinese or your simple English foods, and shops.
WE, as a family of 8 ranging from 13-78 give the apts 10/10 for all aspects and would definitely visit again!!!
Thank you George and Cristos

I loved my stay at the Kosmas I Apartments, the owners were lovely.
I went with only one friend but we made loads of lovely new friends when we were there, and we had the greatest fun! I would definitely go again.
The owners George and Christos were fun and brilliant to talk to and they went out of their way to help us and give us a lovely stay.
I even managed to lose my key and lock myself out, I also thought I had broken the patio doors, (the balconies are lovely too) the late hours of the night came and I had to disturb Christos to help me, but he and his brother were still more than willing!
The pool was beautiful and clean and it stayed warm during later hours so an evening swim was much appreciated!
The rooms were lovely and clean, the kitchen was basic but the weather was so warm a big appetite isn’t an issue!
The bar was lovely and food was available all day that we were appreciative of.
I could carry on with good points but I wont...overall an absolutely brilliant stay and I'd recommend people to go, also the trips on offer are stunning you have to experience them to see for yourself!

The Kosmas apartments are family run with George and Christos the two sons of the family running the bar and pool area. Their mother does the cooking at the pool snack bar and the farther helps on BBQ nights. All the food is excellent.
The apartments are very clean and you get fresh towels almost daily (except Sundays), the cleaner came to empty the bins and give a mop around, again daily. Usually after 11.00am. The facilities within the apartment are being renewed in most apartments this winter and apartments 14 upwards were refurbished just three to four years ago and have everything you would want including a fridge freezer, a kettle, a toaster, hob and oven/grill. Loads of wardrobe space and very firm beds, with blankets in the wardrobes for when the weather gets cooler. There are roses and canna lilies among lots of other flora surrounding the apartments, with some lovely large palms if you want some shade.
As the apartments are on the main Sidari to Roda road it can be a little noisy at night when you want to sleep. If you are on the ground floor the bedrooms face the pool area so there is no noise. Just take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper or have one of Christos ouzo and fantail lemon and you will sleep like a baby.
The whole family are very welcoming and have BBQ nights once or twice a week, which at 6 euros including salad and chips with a glass of the fathers home made wine is extremely reasonable. The food is delicious.
My partner, her son, (who spent a lot of time in the very large pool or on Christos PS2) and I spent a very enjoyable and relaxing two weeks at the Kosmas apartments and will definitely return again. Keep up the good work boys.

I am writing this review with a heavy heart as we have just returned home from the most fantastic week staying in the Kosmas apartments Roda Corfu. Where can I start, there were six of us on the holiday, myself, husband two girls aged 11 and 12 and their grandma and grandad.
Firstly the apartments we stayed in were lovely clean, freshly painted, had lovely bathrooms (which can be rare in Corfu) and spacious balcony. The pool was lovely and clean and plenty of sun beds. Our hosts George and Christos were fabulous and couldn't do enough for you.
George was a fantastic chef his barbeque and spit roasted chickens were out of this world. We had a really lovely holiday and met some fantastic new friends. Everyone in our party from the youngest 11 yrs to the oldest 70yrs had the most memorable holiday and will be returning next year without a doubt, c ya soon George, Christos and family, luv Jeanette, Ray, Lois, Tammie, Jean and Denis

This year I spent two weeks in Roda at the Kosmas 1. First, the good news is that the rooms are of a fair size and the furniture is in good condition and the walls looked freshly painted. The theme throughout all the apartments I looked into was the same, i.e. pine furniture white walls and tiled floors. The kitchen was basic but functional. The shower room had everything required of it including a shower curtain (a rare site in Corfu). The pool to the rear of the building was large and clean, and was a joy to swim in. Sun beds surrounded the pool and we never had any difficulty in finding a sun bed to use regardless of the time of day. The Kosmas 1 also has a covered area that houses a bar that also serves food throughout the day. The bad news can be summed up in one word NOISE! The Libra brochure states that some noise may be heard at times. This is quite comical as the noise level is constant and very very loud. The hotel is only about thirty feet away from the main Sidari to Roda road and mopeds speed up and down this road 24hrs a day, every day. And as most Corfiot kids seem to take pride in having no silencers fitted to these bikes the decibel level is extreme. The large waste bins were noisily collectedfirst thing every morning, and as this is a main road the sound of ancient diesel engines rattling past the hotel could be heard at all hours of the day and night. Although the rooms have double glazed patio doors, we just found it just to hot to leave them closed. If the hotel owners paid out a little extra cash to fit ceiling fans or better still air conditioning, I would gladly go back for another stay as it is I would not use them again. Another problem was the road itself. Although the Libra brochure is quite clear in stating that the Kosmas 1 is over a Kilometre from the beach, I did not realise that I would not have a path to walk on to get to this beach.Walking along the edge of a busy road is fine if you are an adult and have your wits about you I however would not be happy if I was walking along this road with young children though. The staff at the Kosmas 1 although not rude in anyway were not friendly and did not make an effort with the guests at all. On our last day they even tried to get us out of the room before our allotted leaving time, so the newly arrived guests could move in. No entertainment is provided and the food and drinks were at the top end of the local price levels. As for the Libra reps ours was called Andy and was not of much use. We had a very boring new arrivals talk from him. Andy knew next to nothing about Roda. Andy spent more time talking about other parts of Corfu that no one had any interest in. The real reason for this 'talk' was of course to sell us trips. Do not buy any from him. The Libra trips are double the price of the ones available in Roda itself. We used N.S.K for three trips during our two week stay and had no problems with them at all. Andy even had the cheek to say that they trick you and send you to different destinations than the ones advertised. The family in the room nest to ours had a cock up with N.S.K. and the collection after a visit to Aqualand was messed up N.S.K. sorted it out and sent a taxi to collect them, you can't argue with that can you?The best trip we had was to Aqualand the biggest water park in Europe. Food and drink is expensive though so take a large bottle of water and a packed lunch with you if you can. We also went on the day trip to Albania. I am reluctant to rubbish this trip because it is an experience you will remember, but it is far from being a pleasurable day out. Albania is desperate for tourist money but they are not yet equipped to deal with us yet. The town we went to was a concrete jungle and you will have a miserable and possibly frightening time if you do not take the optional tour. The tour is quite good you see some fantastic Greek and Roman sites, but beware of the mosquito'sI got bitten five times during the tour. Lunch is provided during the tour but you do not get to eat it until three in the afternoon (the coach picks you up at around eight in the morning, so it's a long time to wait for it) Albanian hygiene is not up to a very high standard. The restaurant that our buffet was served in smelt of sewerage and the salad was covered in flies. A lot of people could not bring them selves to eat much, or did what I did and scooped the top layer of food away from the top of each plate to eat what was underneath it. Most soft drinks in Albania cost the equivalent to 60p the tour of the town centre revealed how poor the locals are.Building and road maintenance is non existent and the locals live an almost feral existence. Beggar children do get annoying and disabled people try and shame you into giving you money by waving their stumps at you! It made me appreciate what I have available to me in the UK. The cheapest trip we had was an evening trip to Corfu town. The town is beautiful but not much better than Roda for shopping. Every shop sold the same as the next and prices were slightly higher than Roda. The Luxury hotel bar prices were virtually the same as London bar prices so be ware of the places you choose to stop at. Back in Roda we enjoyed spending our mornings at the Roda Blue pool bar. This was about 100yds down the road from the Kosmas 1. The sun beds were more comfy and the atmosphere was better (drink and food was a little cheaper too). Further down the road is the Pegasus hotel. This is a more upmarket hotel and has a fantastic pool it was the only main road hotel that was really busy. If you are looking for a nice place to stay and you have kids I would recommend taking a look at this hotel it was a bit pricey I believe though. Further down the road is a local store called the Market the young guy that owned it was really friendly and works very long hours so give him some trade if you can! The first bar you come to is the Compass bar on the corner of the road. This bar was always fairly busy and favoured by the English especially the over 40's they did a very good English breakfast but I found the lunch we had was very mediocre. Once you are passed the Compass you are effectively now in Roda it's self. The next store we found friendly was on the opposite side of the road it is called Agas and was run by a mother and her daughter. Prices were ok and they were friendly people. Two doors down from here was our second favourite restaurant called Drosia. This restaurant is very ordinary looking with a roughly hand painted menu outside it, the food though was great my partner's Mousaka was huge and very tasty my T-bone steak was superb. They did the best English breakfast as well. Further down the road all the bars start to thicken up a bit you will find bars and restaurants that cover most tastes if you like your sport you will find plenty of sky sports bars, the same goes for karaoke bars. If like me you would pay not to go into these places, you can stick to local tavernas, restaurants and movie bars (bars showing pirated films that are not yet out in the UK). Our favourite restaurant was the Odysseus I recommend you try the sixteen course Meze. Other places we ate at included of course Maggie's I had intended to eat mostly local food during this holiday but You really should try the fish and chips here they are first class. Maggie herself works many of the tables meeting and greeting and making sure everyone is happy. my partners order was cocked up Maggie immediately offered to buy us a round of drinks on the house by way of apology needless to say I recommend you give her a visit (her steak meals were a touch over priced though). On the subject of Greek vs. English food, if you are on a budget like we were you would be wise to stick to cereals in your apartment or the English breakfasts available at every restaurant. They are generally cheap and large and will keep you going until your evening meal. If you fancy a lunch time snack I recommend you try the Gyros available in the smaller Greek grill bars they are basically a Greek style pita (more like a small nan bread) to this they add some kebab meat salad and a few chips they then wrap it into a cone shape. They taste great and cost around 1.5 euros. Continental breakfasts are not easily available or very good and the traditional Greek yogurt and local honey is surprisingly expensive. You would be mad not to try the local food on at least a few occasions; it would be hard to eat exclusively Greek at the same time though. Other restaurants we ate at included Nikos, the food here was good and the atmosphere was lively. The Roda Park next door was also busy; the staff were also chatty and friendly. The food though was not great though. The Roda Park was always busy, so maybe it was just a poor choice of meal on my part. We also ate at the Aphrodite hotel the steak meal I had was very average but it was very cheap so I can't complain. The hotel was busy and popular with us Brits I would consider staying here if I go back to Roda. I had a very average English breakfast at the Roda Inn look, out for the Greek night here though as it is free as opposed the ninteen euros they charge for it at the Roda oasis. The Newport was another lively place to eat the owner is a bit pushy trying to get customers off the street (we nearly never ate here because we avoid that kind of thing) the food was good though and fair value for money. The only bad meal I had during two weeks in Roda was at the Wave the order was badly executed the correction was messed up and the attitude of the staff was not good. To top it off it was not cheap. The worst bar we used was Roxanne's (draught woodpecker cider my arse). The best was Big Bens.Fosters lager was very cheap and they do nice ice creams and slush puppies. It is not the kind of bar to spend the entire night in but was a lovely bar to have a one drink in before heading back to the apartment to get changed for the evening. The beach at Roda is not great; it is very narrow so is damp all the time. It is also quite pebbly. The people who rent out the sun beds and umbrellas tend to be the ones who look after the small section of beach they operate from. I recommend the English guy who works opposite the Roda in. He looks after his bit of beach and is a couple of euros cheaper than some of the others (as he is connected to the Roda Inn you can use their toilets too). The sea is warm clean and shallow. Sadly they do not have any shower facilities along the beach so my number one tip for you is to use the tap hidden among the trees opposite the Kava market to clean your hands and feet with. I found Roda surprisingly quiet for the time of year, but that suited me down to the ground. The weather was perfect for the entire holiday. And although you had plenty of guys in football shirts around, I did not see one bit of yobbish behaviour for the entire holiday. Roda is best suited to couples over twenty five or families. Roda does have a night club called the Sound Factory but it is away from the hotels and bars so you will not be disturbed by it. We purchased the holiday through Airmiles for £460 each for a fortnight, flying from B'ham airport. We spent about £900 between us during the holiday in total.Prices in Corfu have shot up since Greece adopted the Euro 7e is worth around £5. Typical prices were: Local beer 2.4e Wine (per glass) 1.5e Fanta 1.6e Cocktails 3.0e English breakfast 3.0e Meals were not bad value 3.75e for a starter and main courses were around 7.50e on average. British beer was around 3.5e a pint. Would I go back to Roda again? Definitely, I may sound hyper critical but I enjoyed Roda a lot and would be glad to go back for another visit. I may even try the Kosmas 1 again but not without earplugs!

This was my husband's and my second holiday at the Kosmas, third to Roda. We absolutely love the Kosmas Apts. The welcome is fantastic from Christo and George. Christiane the cleaner is lovely, friendly and absolutely trustworthy. Our rooms were cleaned daily except Sunday, rubbish removed, though if we had a little too much we deposited it the rubbish skips on the road to save Christiane a little. Poppy, the mother is lovely, always on the go. Cooking, cleaning, babysitting. Effie, Georges daughter is a lovely girl, helping out in the morning. The Greek night at the Kosmas is a must. We don't normally go in for things like this but we tried it. We had an amazing time. The trio of dancers were fabulous. Everyone got up dancing. Even John and I got up on the table to belly dance. Afterwards it turned into a disco. I think we went to bed about 2:30 but don't quote me. The food was great too. Eating out in Roda is great or go further afield to Acharavi. 20 minute walk along the beach. We love the Opa Taverna, where we have eaten frequently over the 3 years and have made great friends with Yianni the Chef and his lovely wife Helena. Niko the waiter has been with them for years, he is young but very good waiter and a real laugh. Bler, Yianni's assistant is a lovely guy and good eye candy for us girls. Johanna the other waitress is lovely. Irini the other assistant in the kitchen is a bundle of laughs. Try their Greek dishes. They will explain what is in them and recommend certain specialities. Other good food to be had is Pangalos on the front but the service is terrible, language problem. Drossia on the main road is good. Try their mixed platter. We had the medium for lunch as the small was advertised as for 1, we ordered a salad too. The platter was massive. Pork chops, koftas, sausage, chicken fillet, pork fillet, lamb chops, tzaziki, taramsolata all on chips. We struggled and gave up. Would feed a family of four. The owner was upset we left the chips and asked if we would like roast potatoes instead, I said we were watching our weight and that is why we ordered the salad, which was left pretty untouched. On the beach road to Acharavi is Faros. Try their meze. It is an absolute delight of mixed meats and salad. Perfect for lunch. Across the road on the edge of the beach is another lovely bar for lunch. In Acharavi try the Lemon Garden. We did last year for lunch and enjoyed, so walked and tried dinner. I would recommend for lunch and drinks but don't go for dinner. Worst meal we had. There is a nice new path along the beach to the Roda Village. Over the bridge from the Afrodite, turn right. There is shallow swimming, great for kids, but no sunbeds until you get to resorts. Avoid the horseriding. I have wanted to do it for 3 years. So booked this year 18euros. The last time I got on a horse I was thrown but was determined. Well got on and the horse started to twitch. I freaked out and got off. No refund. Other people were arguing they were booked but had been forgotten. Try Captain Georges dream cruises. Lovely trips to islands and bays around Corfu. I love finishing our holiday on the Bond Cruise. Avoid the Mitsos Taverna at Nissaki. You get hassled by Mama, food not that good and service too quick for relaxing. Corfu Town is a must. Use the local bus service, they had a late bus this year. Last bus leaves Corfu Town at 2000. I recommend the Kosmas and Roda to everyone of all ages. It is quiet, family friendly, relaxing. Only reason we won't be going back is because we are returning to Australia next year. If I win the lottery, we will be buying a house in Roda or a village nearby. Hire a car. The interior of the island is fabulous. Old Perithia is a definite must, so is Pelekas near Glfyada.
